Star Trek Discovery ticks all the Social Justice boxes

Not that I want to defend this pile of crap - but was that a Mirror Universe episode? The Mirror Universe has been stupid and Racist™ since it's initial inception. DS9 is the only series that made it remotely interesting or believable.

Yeah they really jumped the shark and doubled down on the 'look at how enlightened we are' garbage. Shows like this are only for making their viewer base (progressives) feel good about themselves. The facists are caricature straw men that act stupid, are easily fooled and defeated (ala the soyboy/Durnam fight and the awkward inter-ship communications). As you said the facists seem to have no chain of command, backstabbing is encouraged and the resulting low trust military culture doesn't hamper them at taking on both klingons and vulcans, even though in the main timeline Starfleet was getting its arse handed to them by just the klingons even while allied to the vulcans.

Don't even get me started on that wacky PTSD/BDSM Klingon Stockholm Syndrome subplot. Guy acts that erratically and the Captain and other senior officers don't react at all?

In any case, its clear the show will keep on its current trajectory even if ratings decline. Its creators don't know any other way.

Yeah - that may be so, but the current timeline is making the humans appear already dark, the Vulcans violent and stupid (fire first at the Klingons, because Klingons are cowards who are retreating easily if you fire at them first) and the humans are at times quite evil (captain suicides his entire crew before they can get captured by Klingons).

So no - the timeline is already dark and evil by former Star Trek standards. So their reverse is making them even more evil and more stupid.

In the Enterprise Mirror Universe the Vulcans were slaves (and Archer despised them even more than normal), while Hoshi (the hot Asian) was wearing a bare midrift, and sleeping with - then murdering - every one of her superior officers, until she became the Empress of the Federation.

The Mirror Universe is full of stupid Space Nazis - but they were human supremacists, not racial supremacists.

I took a look at the first episode and immediately quit after seeing that the main star is a chick/dude named Michael Obama.

Really enjoying DS9 at the moment instead of this steaming pile of ShitJW.

(Don't need to see that picture again)

On the other hand they did kill off one of them with a snapped neck a few minutes later. Though with the mirror universe thing going on he might not stay dead.
