I think most of you aren't seeing that Hefner and Gloria Steinem are two sides of the same coin. Other than maybe Kinsey, very few people were as instrumental in destroying the foundation of traditional western society: the family. He's a Hellraiser protagonist come to life and the embodiment of the Cherokee curse "May you have everything you desire!"

Something tells me that even after all the fun he had, the first love of his life was still at the back of his mind.
