Where should I start in this modern saga of American obesity, loneliness, and the difficulties of doing self-improvement over the internet.
1. Rex did NOT fail at fitness!
He wanted to get bigger and stronger. He got bigger and stronger.
His FAILURE was DIETARY.
He still looks like shit because he never adjusted his diet properly.
2. I've seen Rex's diet
IT'S TERRIBLE!!!
It's the typical fat american diet!
90% of it was pre-processed, preservative and artificially flavored bullshit.
3. His Goal is Unclear
"Bulk" - "Cut" - "add mass" - "lose weight" - "get stronger" - "get in shape"
In the beginning, he literally wanted to gain weight and ate extra portions of food to make it happen..
Now, he is struggling to lose the weight that he WANTED TO GAIN!?!?
Needs a more clearly defined goal!

I probably need something more extreme than dialing back on calories
You need to dial back on fast food and processed food.
Low quality food is your biggest enemy.

I put a lot of effort into training
And you didn't get the results you wanted, so...
put more effort into GETTING HELP AND EATING BETTER.

What do you think about cycling through different rep ranges?
That won't fix your diet.

I have a feeling that he's lying to us about something
He's NOT lying to us.
HE'S LYING TO HIMSELF
Why?
To deflect responsibility. To FEEL like it's not his fault.
It's a survival mechanism.

He needs help.
The "fitness industry" is a sea of misinformation. He's drowning in it.
Rex, find better mentors.
Less low quality meals, MORE HIGH QUALITY NUTRITIONISTS AND WEIGHT LOSS PROFESSIONALS!
