Stanley food thermos, and/or Stanley beverage thermos. You can use it to either bring in hot drinks or foods such as stews, soups, and chillis. Great way to have warm healthy food for lunch/dinner and save money everyday.

I use simplynoise.com and put on some headphones when I need work done. Great for working in an environment with a lot of background noise.

Since we're coming up on summer:

Those of you who run internet based business or have other jobs where you work off a laptop without any permanent desk will love this one:

Also a pull-up bar. Doing a few reps every time you walk under it adds up over time and will have a subtle but noticeable impact on your physique.

Shun chef knives are amazing! There are few things that will add to your cooking enjoyment like a good knife.
Now, you can spend a lot more than a Benjamin on one knife if you want, or need to if it's your profession, but for home use, for the average guy, these are outstanding.

Smartwool brand socks and underwear. I have seen other brands that are probably just as good but I have only bought smartwool. Socks are about $20+ per pair and underwear about $50+, very expensive but incredibly comfortable and they last! I have socks that I wear weekly, they are seven years old and are still in almost brand new condition.

Yeah I am. It's good for sleeping, but also just nice to have in the background. The analogue has a nice timbre, and you don't need to dick around online. This

Can you recommend a solid pair for under $100?

I'd like to pick up some but most of the ones I see touted around the internet are a few hundred dollars or so.

Well if you can get to $200, these were just released. They are considered the best sound-quality/noise-reduction to price ratio. Won't be shipping out until the end of the month, and as mine haven't arrived, I can't personally vouch yet. But based on my research, they are the ones to get.

To be honest, that is the least you can expect to pay for a set of this kind. Otherwise you are compromising on sound quality or noise reduction. Bose are over-priced, and while they have the best noise-reduction, their sound quality is not as good as Sennheiser.

I work in an office where it's fairly loud even with in-ear (not noise canceling) headphones. When it's time to get real work done, I break out 30db earplugs.

Add to the list: orange glasses - they block blue light from screens which helps not fuck with your circadian rhythms if you're staying up late and using technology. A lot of tech already has blue light blockers, but these can also help if you don't have an eye mask.

I can pay more - was just asking because of the thread title. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check them out.

Here's a more cost-effective alternative. I use these right now.

I'd add exactly what was already said. Noise reduction is good but not best in the business. Sound quality however is top notch.

Lifting gloves - I've always had the worst calluses on my hands, and since I bought some gloves on Amazon, my hands have pretty much recovered. Harbinger brand gloves are ~$20.

Lifting gloves are kinda [Image: gay.gif], no offense. Callouses are badass, man! Also, lifting gloves actually make lifting harder because they artificially increase the diameter of the bar you're grabbing.

Here's my list (with some repeats):

Lodge Cast Iron Skillet - I probably cook 100 meals on this per year. It's indestructible and gets better with use.

Jawbone Mini-Jambox - For a $20 bluetooth speaker, this thing packs a punch. It's great for listening to music at home and perfect for travel.

Foam Roller - Anyone who foam rolls knows how awesome it can be. If you don't, buy this now and thank me later.

A pillow - I spent basically my entire life sleeping on a 20+ year old piece of shit pillow. I recently bought a reasonable-quality pillow for $40 off Amazon and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long.

What shoes that are quality are that price?

If you don't have access to chalk (or your gym - like mine - doesn't allow it) then gloves are certainly worth looking into. My palms sweat profusely when I lift, and the only way I can hang onto the pullup bar or bust out a set of deadlifts is to use the gloves (although I do use chalk when I travel and have access to gyms that don't mind it).

I'll second the Harbinger recommendation, been using them for years.

This could be viewed as both a pro and a con.
