This is 100% true as I'm using snapchat less and have less views.

This is exactly what happened to Vine - IG introduced short videos - which killed usage of Vine.

Instagram will ALWAYS be the go to.

Pics/Video/Boomerang/Stories/etc

Their will always be new features with IG and it has the most end users.

I noticed an uptick of people using the live stories on IG and posting their own stories as well.

Why would you have Snapchat & IG to post double the stories ? Doesn't makes sense.

The only thing snapchat is good for is the filters and geo filters.

You know IG is working on something like this.
Their needs to be some type of copyright law in the tech world so Instagram/Facebook can't just come in and take other tech companies ideas. I'm tired of this Facebook/Instagram Monopoly

From what I see, most people I know are not even using Facebook or Instagram that often, they are normally on LinkedIn just for professional reasons, since LinkedIn is just a online resume social media, you don't need to really post anything on it, not annoying kids pictures or minions quotes.

You say that, but there's plenty of attention whoring and self-promotion going on if you bother looking at your LinkedIn feed.

I don't know how people think it makes them more employable when they display the same behaviour as 12yo girls, just in suits.

Many times when employers ask for resume when hiring someone they rather ask for a link to a LinkedIn profile rather than a email with a resume or a resume on paper.

Not that I am a big fan of Snap, but I think there's a real need for a
1) widely adopted (especially among girls)
2) easily available
3) ephemeral messaging service
4) not owned by Faceberg, Google, or Apple.

Disappearing messages are very useful for sharing private stuff, whether with girls or not... But especially with girls.

Some guys I know use the Signal app, but honestly what girl is going to use Signal? Most times when I suggest a girl talk to me on an ephemeral messaging app they get suspicious.

Snapchat was trendy enough to get girls onto it.

Completely agree. I support Snap's success because it is the Anti-Facebook. Instagram stealing their story concept is an interesting maneuver. I have also seen many people using this instead of Snapchat recently. I would love to see Snapchat respond by developing certain elements of Twitter/Facebook in response.

I haven't used most of the messaging apps. I tend to stick to SMS for texting. Never used Snapchat or WhatsApp.

It seems to me that the tech industry is completely out of ideas, just like unholywood. There's no more innovation; just more messaging apps. Google now has 3 of them, none of which are compatible with the others.

Remember ICQ from the 90's? You could tie all of your IM accounts into a single app. I'd love to see something like that now.

I seem to remember Roosh having a Telegram channel. I've been trying to find it again.

Ya. I thought porn stars used snap chat to cater their fans and occasionally send out nudes?

Exhibit A: Hitomi Tanaka and her big, fat luscious tits.

@Roosh

I knew Snapchat was about to die when my own father tried to get me and my brothers to get on it to put pics of his grandchildren on it. This was last year.

My brothers and I looked at each other and told him, "we want to stay married dad." "Snap Chat is trouble."

My brothers were 100 times the player I was.

He got upset and said his coworkers are on it.

We told him his coworkers were doing dirt on it. Knowing one of them was a player because we met him.

Your news does not surprise me at all.

I feel the real reason Snapchat is dying is because it's ruined its own use with an extremely pushy "news" feature you can't opt out of.

That and half its use is based on kids wanting to send nudes without "giving" those nudes for others to use forever. But that implies a level of decency which has long since been past us. No one really cares if their nudes are all over the place as much as they used to.

Well, if Snapchat is dying, it's double bad news for the owner. Miranda Kerr will take half of he has anyway, plus company will lose some money, it'll be bad for the owner.

Good riddance to snapchat, it's hard to believe that the people who founded this rubbish app are worth billions.

Valuation is absurd. They will never be able to sufficiently monetize their user base. HS kids aren't going to pay for anything. Speaking as an older millenial when I'm around people in the 23-26 range they do use it an obnoxious amount.

Good riddance.

I was never a big fan of Snapchat. If I'm going to waste time dicking around on social media, I'm not going to do it on a platform where all my social proof disappears in twenty-four hours. Even though I hate Mark Zuckerberg, I'd much rather use Facebook or Instagram for online game. At least with those platforms, you can create your own personal "den of DHV" that won't vanish and can aid in portraying an attractive portrait of yourself (marketing) to your prospects.

I like and dislike SnapChat.

It can be used as a tool to get girls interested without much effort on your end. You just have to make it somewhat interesting (like your Instagram.)

Posting your hobbies, hikes, nightlife etc all can help multiple girls to get to know you better that takes you minutes per day. Getting a girls SnapChat or other forms of social media is lower psychological pressure on them. I've had a few instances where I had a few lukewarm Snapchat/Instagram adds turn into dates/lays.

But it also acts as another weird technology proxy. I feel like we're just getting lost in this weird sea of technology that severely limits deep interpersonal relationships. It just opens up access to that many more potential sexual suitors and "friends" and places less value on individuals.

I prefer snap because sometimes you are gaming a chick and for whatever reason you can't get the number you can just use Snap and it doesn't require tons of maintenance to keep going. She does't show how many follows you have, how popular you are and all this other bullshit. Ive recently transitioned a girl from Tinder to Snap and I control 100% of the content I want her to see. So much better.

Instagram just requires too much work. Likes, topics, decent pictures... chicks are starting to use that stupid shit to check your "social value" when they know nothing else about you.

Facebook applies the death blow:

Quote:Quote:

Facebook is rolling out ephemeral stories and messaging in its mobile apps today, bringing the popular format for sharing photos and videos to more than 1.65 billion people a day. The move is part of an all-out effort to blunt the momentum of Snapchat, which invented the stories format in 2013, and to ensure Facebook’s continued dominance in an era where photo and video become a primary mode of communication. Its relative success or failure will go a long way in determining who owns the near future of social networking.
