Ever since then I got spooked and just put my vape pen down. Has anybody ever had this happen to them?

I can't say I have ever experienced that.

The only thing I can think of would be that the drip tip is getting an abnormal amount of build up / juice on the inside.

Did you notice a bubbling sound and / or have times when you would taste the juice?

We need to talk about ejuice ...... I am making for a cost to me of $2.36 what costs $20.00 in the store. As soon as I have time I will expand in this very important aspect of vaping.

I'm making 10ml bottle for 0.35$. Whole day of vaping costs me ~20ml of liquid at 60W 0.2ohm. I use vpark 150w TC + fuji GTA. So it's very cheap, but I also vape 1mg/ml at the moment so I save mostly at nicotine.

At its most basic formula, Ejuice is compromised of either one of two basic elements Propylene Glycol "PG" and Vegetable Glycerine "VG", or most commonly both elements PG and VG together. In all formulas you will find the ratio of PG to VG, most common ratios are 70/30, 50/50, or 30/70.
These two elements are the "diluents", but technically you could just vape PG, VG, or both.

PG is an organic chemical compound widely used in food, tobacco, and personal care products. PG doesn’t alter the flavor of the flavor concentrates and also delivers a stronger throat hit (than VG.) It is also a good conduit of flavor.

VG is slightly sweeter and viscous than PG. VG can slightly alter the way a flavor tastes, but that can be good or bad depending on your individual taste. I personally find it sweetens flavours.

The other most common elements are Nicotine and flavorings. These two are highly concentrated; and, thus, diluted in PG or VG. For someone like me, who took the habit of vaping to quit a cigarette smoking habit of over 20 years, nicotine is a must in the formula of the ejuice I make.

In regards to flavours, there are hundreds of them ... almost anything you can imagine. You can easily find the website of the manufacturers doing a simple online search (Flavor Art, Capella, Loreann Naturals, and many more.)

There are many online stores that sell the ingredients to make ejuice. Just make sure you buy from a reputable business that sell high quality ingredients. I personally use Wizardlabs because they are located one shipping day away from me.

I have made many different combinations of PG/VG/Nicotine/flavours and now I am vaping a clone of "NAKED 100 - VERY COOL - 60ML" which retails at $20.00 for a 60ml bottle.
The flavors in this formula are: 10% menthol concentrate, blackberry, blueberry, raspberry and sucralose. After playing with the ratios I really like it as follows:
100mg Nicotine Solution 3.00%
Propylene Glycol 10.00%
Vegetable Glycerin 74.65%
10% Menthol 1.80%
Blackberry (CAP) 3.25%
Blueberry (CAP) 4.00%
Raspberry (CAP) 3.00%
Sucralose 0.30%

I make the mix in 110ml bottles. the cost of each 110ml mix is approx $4.72, or $2.57 for 60ml, $0.43 for 10ml.

the following is the cost of the ingredients:
100mg Nicotine Solution - 120ml $15.99

For the newbies I would add to be careful with 100mg/mL nicotine solutions as it may be dangerous, even getting a few drops on your skin may feel unpleasant if not washed away quickly. In EU they banned anything over 20mg/mL and even before it was max. 36mg/mL available only, but fortunately I basically got out of nicotine use for good.

Excellent tip. I recommend using rubber gloves when handling nicotine.

Do the ratios used change at all if you're not a nicotine user?

Smok AL85 kit - it is the only one I have tried so the only one I can recommend ....

pros: small/compact; reliable; compatible with the Smok baby beast tank; uses one battery only
cons: since it uses one battery only I need to replace them a couple of times a day .. no big deal for me because I have another battery always charging / it gets hot if you chain vape and it reaches over 50C rather quickly sometimes.

All in all, I really like the little equipment.

Can be taken anywhere, no smell or smoke, lasts 6-8 hours, etc

Got a new mod, the Aegis from GeekVapes. It's a tough little fucker. No charger, gotta charge the battery separately. No complaints so far.

Hard to say as weed effects everybody differently....edibles are more chilled and relaxed out then the intense high from vaping/ smoking but you want more.

Since edibles go into the bloodstream it lasts much longer without as much of side effects you tend to see like people getting the munchies, getting paranoid, etc

I smoked for years and quit in 2015. Nowadays I smoke a few cigs a month when I'm out. I don't drink, so I enjoy having a smoke to socialize.

Having said that, this summer I plan to hit a couple music festivals and would like an alternative to cigarettes. I don't need huuuge clouds or high nicotine hits. Just looking for something practical (don't want the battery dying all the time), fun and cheap.

I went through the whole thread but could only find two suggestions for starter kits, the Smok AL85 and the Vaporesso.

Vaporesso has a bunch of "starter" kits. Would this be a good pick?

Hello Ringo; the SMOK AL85 broke after 6 months or so. I got the Aegis https://www.geekvape.com/project/aegis/ and as YoungBlade says, it is tough little fucker. I purchase only the mod, not a kit. But it looks like you can purchase it as a kit as well. It has been working very well for over 6 months.
