But what is everyone's objection to Giuliani.

He seems to have come around, but I don't even know what was bad about him before.

People do change also, and he seems really loyal to Trump.

I like Rudy for SoS from a demeanor standpoint. Unfortunately, going from Mayor of NYC to Foreign Policy leader just doesn't translate well.

Prefer Gowdy for AG. Has the right attitude. Uncertain if he'd be wiling to remain in public service.

Bolton seemingly came out of nowhere and I'm grasping at straws for any suitable candidates. Uncertain of the precedent but I'd imagine Federal service focused on FP is preferential to say someone with a great track record as a governor.

Can I say Jim Webb? Is that nuts?

He has the background from the his time in the Navy, clearly knows FP, and as this video clearly shows, he's aligned on the big items. Appears to be RP as well.

He seems solid.

You are right about Jim Webb. I wanted him to be VP actually.

The Republican going into 2016 had an incredible disadvantage.

Let me list them:

-Anti-Republican media. 91% of the coverage was negative towards Trump bears that out.
-Structural advantage due to demographics and the fact that Hillary was a woman was going to cut into white women, what Republicans absolutely had to win.
-Vast superior fundraising advantage.
-Support of Wall Street

Some others that Trump in particular had to overcome
-Saboteurs in the Republican Party
-No ground game in many states because of lack of support of the GOP Establishment.
-Lack of international support
-Lack of Support from the Pope when many in America are Catholics
-Mass Voter fraud and lack of voter ID in many states with a media and government willing to turn a blind eye

I could go on.

Trump ran a genius campaign and had a great team that pulled out a miracle.

To correct or amplify the topics, above, bolded: I also thought that Trump had no ground game. But it turns out to have happened that the Republicans did, and thus so did he.

First, in May of 2012, the Pubbies only had 800 people working for Romney's ground game. But this year, it was over 6,000.

This 'ground game' in states like Ohio went on outside the purview of the media - VERY cagey of Reince Priebus to keep it quiet! Trump had full access to it. Hence, Priebus reward at Chief of Staff to the President.

Why change the teaming-up that's working? That's the prevailing logic working at the top. (Another principle, obvious from the rumors, is that Trump rewards his loyal employees. It's reciprocal loyalty.)

And apparently, Priebus boasts that Republicans can target voters through social media and completely by-pass the major media channels! (Or so says Priebus himself in an interview.)

Now, as for mass voter fraud - apparently the California Review of Politics did an election year poll of illegal immigrants. "Are you voting" this year? 13% said they were.

If so, many hundreds of thousands - 300 to 500,000 - were cast this year. All of them illegitimate. And this vitiates Hillary's popular vote victory or 'lead.'

Otherwise, Korben, you offer a nice, useful primer of Trump strengths and weaknesses overcome!

The long post-mortems to come about this election victory are going to be fascinating to us geeks besotted enough to read them!

For fucks sake Trump, miss me with that Bolton shit. You just won the White House on the strength of railing against everything that the Boltons and Dimons of this world represent. Surely you're not gonna give that neocon freak a huge promotion from the last time he was in power by elevating him from ambassador to the UN under Bush to fucking Secretary of State??

A Bolton in charge of foreign policy, a Goldman shylock in treasury and a Kushner "running the day to day" does not sound like good news. At all. We have seen all this before. Let's hope it does not come to pass.

The best thing about Jim Webb is he's a legitimate war hero. Not some John "My Plane Was Shot Down" McCain bullshit either.

Quote:Quote:

The Navy Cross is presented to James H. Webb, Jr., First Lieutenant, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving as a Platoon Commander with Company D, First Battalion, Fifth Marines, First Marine Division (Reinforced), Fleet Marine Force, in connection with combat operations against the enemy in the Republic of Vietnam. On July 10, 1969, while participating in a company-sized search and destroy operation deep in hostile territory, First Lieutenant Webb's platoon discovered a well-camouflaged bunker complex that appeared to be unoccupied. Deploying his men into defensive positions, First Lieutenant Webb was advancing to the first bunker when three enemy soldiers armed with hand grenades jumped out. Reacting instantly, he grabbed the closest man and, brandishing his .45 caliber pistol at the others, apprehended all three of the soldiers. Accompanied by one of his men, he then approached the second bunker and called for the enemy to surrender. When the hostile soldiers failed to answer him and threw a grenade that detonated dangerously close to him, First Lieutenant Webb detonated a claymore mine in the bunker aperture, accounting for two enemy casualties and disclosing the entrance to a tunnel. Despite the smoke and debris from the explosion and the possibility of enemy soldiers hiding in the tunnel, he then conducted a thorough search that yielded several items of equipment and numerous documents containing valuable intelligence data. Continuing the assault, he approached a third bunker and was preparing to fire into it when the enemy threw another grenade. Observing the grenade land dangerously close to his companion, First Lieutenant Webb simultaneously fired his weapon at the enemy, pushed the Marine away from the grenade, and shielded him from the explosion with his own body. Although sustaining painful fragmentation wounds from the explosion, he managed to throw a grenade into the aperture and completely destroy the remaining bunker. By his courage, aggressive leadership, and selfless devotion to duty, First Lieutenant Webb upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and of the United States Naval Service.

He is solid. I was hoping that he would somehow rally the blue dogs around him and build a coalition during the democratic primary, but the first debate was when I learned that there were no blue dogs left to be had.

Had it come down to Trump vs. Webb, I might've voted for Webb, though it would be like choosing between steak and lobster.

Would be a neat move by Trump to appoint a Dem like Webb, say something like "I need valuable opinions from all sides", avoid the neocon shit.

And this is going too far (I can still dream), but in response to questions why he is choosing a Dem, he could say "I am willing to work with all Democrats... who are not socialists or criminals".

Webb also served as Assistant Secretary of Defense and Secretary of Navy under Reagan.

His son also endorsed Trump, and Webb Sr. said he'd choose Trump over Hillary.

Edit: He even speaks Vietnamese apparently. Again, great for an Asian pivot.

Furthermore, he resigned from the Secretary of Navy because he wanted to build up the ship count to 600 and was getting a lot of resistance.

Where have I heard build up the navy? Hmm.

Also, the Bluedog mentality lends itself perfectly to what is trying to be achieved.

Another positive is that he had success outside the government in journalism, writing, and film making. And isn't a fan of GWB.

Perfect.

If you want to project peace through strength, he does that.

So, I'm reading on here why John Bolton SHOULDN'T be in Trump's cabinent.

I haven't seen the other side of why he SHOULD be in Trumps cabinet ?

We know he's a neocon that was apart of Bush's regime but he's also very brash and blunt as well (kind of like Trump).

Trump wouldn't want Fisto in his cabinet either, dude would steal every intern on capitol Hill and leave a president with blue balls. You don't want that in a man with access to nuclear missile launch codes.

Yeah, I'd like to see Webb at State or Defense too. We can send all of these things to the transition team you know. AJ Delgado says to tweet @transition2017. We can also go to the site and put in our thoughts on "how to make America great." Echoes something Scott Adams said months ago about Trump being the direct democracy president.

None of these suggestions or appointments work for me. Why is he going off script at this pivotal moment??!!

Giuliani is the leading contender to be Secretary of State. He's already explicitly ruled himself out as AG, probably because SecState is his personal choice, and given his closeness to Trump he'll definitely get first dibs.

My guess is Flynn will either get National Security Advisor or CIA Director.

Sessions is pretty much a lock as SecDef. He's the only major name being mentioned.

Steve Mnuchin is apparently going to get Treasury Secretary. Also ex-Goldman. Then again, so is Bannon.

The open question is who goes to Attorney-General? Christie and his supporters have been demoted by Bridgegate, so there's no obvious choices. Trey Gowdy as mentioned above would be an awesome choice.

Yes, Trump loves Rudy. I saw some behind the scenes footage, and they're best bruhs.

And he was always loyal to Mr Trump, unlike the wobbly Newt.

Laura Ingram will probably be press secretary. She'll be good at it. She's a cunt, but I'm glad she's our cunt. Prolly a dyke too.

Take care of those titties for me.

I was watching some Trey Gowdy videos earlier and thought this one really belongs in this thread, given he's on Trump's shortlist for Attorney General:

I would absolutely LOVE to see Trey Gowdy as Attorney General - he is one of the bravest and sharpest men left in Washington today, and a legalist and constitutional originalist. What changes over the past half-century are the most troubling in the long term? Besides sweeping demographic change, I would say without hesitation the erosion of the rule of law and the constitution.

The one thing that I'm not sure on is whether he can do more good as Attorney General, or whether his work on the Committee on Oversight and Governmental Reform is a better position to go after the crookedness in D.C. - would any members with better knowledge of the way U.S. government works like to comment?

Looks like Kris Kobach is likely going to be the Attorney General due to his strong stance on immigration.

Nice article pushing for Webb as SoD:

http://thefederalist.com/2016/11/15/jim-...f-defense/

"In his speech today, Webb reiterated his opposition to wars that don’t serve the interests of the country or its global position, mentioning his opposition to the war in Iraq. He said the United States should consider a nation’s stability, aggression, and treatment of citizens before it aligns with them. He noted the need to honor treaty obligations, citing the threat of Chinese aspirations in the South China Sea. He noted the need to maintain our technological edge in weapons systems, and the importance of national self-defense in the fight against Islamist terrorism. He also emphasized the need for Congress to recover its power in war-making, condemning executive overreach regarding activity in Libya and Iraq."

Also a Twitter rumor saying Webb is being considered for the position. It's a long shot but I'm hoping it's true.

https://twitter.com/jonward11/status/798577596107669504

EDIT: Is there a way we can somehow hopefully reach the Trump campaign and let them know that Webb would be an excellent pick? I know during the debates they sent out a survey asking about what sort of issues the voters wanted Trump to focus on during the debate.

Check out the cuck on the far right starting 1:55 in. He tries to walk Kobach into agreeing that criminal illegals will be the only illegals targeted for removal and the rest will be allowed to remain. Watch his face as Kobach replies and is having none of it. Stumped!
