Sertanejo Gaming in Brazil

well lads

Intro

This is my first kind of datasheet. Although it doesn't focus on a single city, it focus in something that is strong in the whole country and will help you to do very well in it. Even for an huge country like Brazil, it may sound a bit generic because it's hard to put every single place in the same bucket, but trust me, it is a gold mine and this is a nation-wide culture.

The motivation for this post is to expose some of, if not the most, interesting places, techniques and environments to game 8's and 9's in Brazil. I've seen that ye guys are not talking that much about it in Brazil-related topics. Also, this is a kind of bad subject among lots of Brazilians and some even may feel butthurt when this kind of subject is discussed. I will explain why in a short, but what I'll show you is something very local, very Brazilian and not that famous outside of the country and far, far for generic "Brazil has only carnival".

Background

[Image: historia-do-sertanejo-era-sertanejo-universitario.jpg]

Sertanejo is the name of the people with are pretty much like the cowboys in US, people who live far from the cities and have a strong country-side culture, dealing with animals, plantations etc. They have their own music, dance, food and accent. It is a very interesting culture and from it where it came the sertanejo music (Música Sertaneja) and it became very famous in the whole country.

I don't have the details when it started, but I would say around the sixties. Here is an example of not-so-old style sertanejo, from 80's, which is know in every corner of the country:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hu_9jZROn6Q

There are also some funny songs, like this one which says "Mas não importa se ela é coroa, panela velha é que faz comida boa" (Doesn't matter that she is old, old pan is the one which makes good food"). "Old Pan" (Panela Velha) and "Coroa" (Crown lol) are also slangs for old women/cougars. "Good food" in this context is relationship/caring/sex.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH6vSwv5Vpg
or some "modão", style of sertanejo which make some old lads cry for their ex's when they are drunk:

This is very famous and usually is played in the end of the parties. "Boate Azul" means "Blue Club", but in the context of the song, it is a whorehouse. The guy was drunk, alone and went after hookers in the south part of São Paulo.

Although those songs are played just very few times in sertanejo parties nowadays, those old style became to something like the videos listed below (if you are in hurry, just skip to 1:30 in all videos):

The thoughts about Sertanejo and some Brazilian cultural aspects

In Brazil, some people complain about it because "is not music, it is shite, dumb people listen to it" and things like that, specially among men. It is very hard to find a guy who confess that he likes Sertanejo, because some people will think that he is a looser, uneducated guy. Ye know in the topic of the Australians which they say that is not a good thing to them to have a Thai girl? The thoughts around Sertanejo music is not too far from it. Brazil has some problems with its identity as well. People who consider themselves smart and with a better culture will claim that just who listens to Rock'n Roll (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple etc) are superior culturally. Personally, I like it and I fight a lot for the Brazilian culture, musica sertaneja, gaucha, mpb and even Funk Carioca - although I'm not a big fan of Funk, I don't blame it as the 90% of the population who like to think they are superior for licking gringo's balls because they listen to everything that is outside of the country. No fairness, in Brazil, mainly middle and upper classes, love everything that is outside the country and hate local stuff.

Anyway, what is the outcome? Usually the parties have good woman/man rates because of those cultural aspects.

The craic with Sertanejo

Now what really matters.

Sertanejo became so famous that a lot of people go to sertanejo houses and because of that, mostly of the big singers created club brands in many big brazilian cities. What I mean is: For instance, Woods, is found in many cities, such as São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Balneário Camboriú and so on.

So the formula here is quite simple, below there is a list of Sertanejo houses which are present in the majority of big and second tier cities. Try to access their website and get a list of the cities they are located.

Woods

Villa Mix

Brooks

Some other famous but I'm not sure if they are available in other cities:
Fields (Florianópolis)

Shed (Balneario Camboriú)
[Image: leorodriguez_shed_bc_19_04_2015_129948_2031.jpg]

Villa Country (São Paulo)
(tired of pictures)

These are top places to go, although if it is not presented in a given city, you can try to google "<name of the city> balada sertaneja". Even in small towns they have some with good potential.

OK, not all girls in the parties are like the ones in the photos but I'd say that the percentage is quite high, of course it has a lot of variables involved (day of the week, season etc).

Levelling up your game

As you already know, Brazilians usually are quite aggressive when game is involved, so some adaptation might be required if you want to go to parties with them. For sertanejos, you don't have to go hit everyone like some lads do in carnival. The best thing to do is to learn how to dance sertanejo/arrocha/vanera, so ye can head to any brazilian dancing school. You can get many benefits, such as:
- You will increase your interaction with locals
- You will learn basic steps which can be adapted to a lot of different dancing styles (or even when you are in the pub and want to pretend that you dance A LOT lol)
- You can game some girl in the classes
- Find some wingman
- During sertanejo parties, usually the music is loud, so you don't need to even talk at first. Just go to the girl, show your hand (palms up) and ask her to dance (Vamos dançar?/Quero dançar com você!/Você quer dançar comigo?). Dancing together will create a strong connection with the girl, because sertanejo is a very, very closed, as brazilians say - "glued bodies".

The problem with these videos on youtube are super pros dancers, with crazy spins and you probably will think "wtf I'll never be able to do that" - You don't need to be 1/3 like that. I tried to put the not-so-crazy, but simple, nice and effective one.

Basic steps and basic spins are enough to create a nice interaction. You can also go to the parties without knowing how to dance, but with dancing skills, obviously, the chances are higher.

Dancing together, just doing some basic steps will enable you to game straight to her ear (talking/whispering), cheeks together, and... profit.

Some observation about the parties
- Usually these parties are expensive. Think now it should be around 70 reais just to come in, and also you must call in advance to put your name into the list, otherwise you will pay the double. The prices of booze inside are higher than normal
- All these parties have something called Camarote, which is a special place where you have to pay more to be in or buy a bottle of something like whisky, vodka, tequila etc (which cost a shitload of money, 300 at least). These places are for VIP. But, for example, one of these places I paid 150 reais, went to the VIP are and I got this 150 reais as credit.
- Dress code is not that strict, some people go with dressing shirts, some with slim-fit T-shirts etc. Don't go with shorts or sneakers.
- I like the atmosphere [Image: smile.gif] some places they play sertanejo until 2:30 AM and after just mainstream disco/pop music (lights off etc) and finish the parties with "modão"
- They don't operate every day. Usually is from Thursday to Saturday, in São Paulo is almost everyday.
- AFAIK, in Rio, sertanejo is not that popular.
- I miss those parties.
- My thoughts: usually those Sertanejo Houses are packed with middle/high class people, sometimes not even portuguese is necessary if you go to big cities.

Ps.: due the limitation of 5 videos per post, I linked the other ones.

Hope you guys enjoyed this datasheet and sorry for my English.

Yeah... I'm out. Sorry.

I recently spoofed my Tinder location to Rio and I was matching with 7s and 8s that were responding positively to openly sexual advances. Seems a lot easier than paying all your money to go to a club and *maybe* pull.

Your effort into putting the guide together is appreciated in any case, I'm sure someone will find it useful.

Cool thread with an original angle.

Its weird though, usually girls are the ones who are more prone to jumping on trends and worry about their cool image while guys hold on to traditional ways more.

If a bunch of 8s and 9s attend these parties and like this music, id have expected the guys to follow suit.

For example if a club looks really lame but a lot of hotties go there, its gonna be a cool spot and all the guys follow.

Brazil, Brazil... this thread made me go trough some some old memories,
below it is Brega style, with his king, Reginaldo Rossi, I love his monologues between each song, this one is particularly fascinating "...you know why this song is a hit, because it speaks about things that touches all of us. Who has not suffered with love? who has not cried in the shoulder of someone? Now, one of the places where the most of people cry...is in the shoulder of the Garçon...Garçon is the confessor of mankind...there are things that the man says to the Garçon that he does not say to the wife back home, and there are things that the women say to the Garçon that the husband could not even think about...(music starts)...Garçon, here in this bar table, you got tired of listening, hundreds of love stories...."

Amazing, ingeniously cheesy and funny as only the Brazilian can pull it off...
