Location Independent People--How Do You Make A Living?

I searched the forum, but there didn't seem to a thread dedicated to this...

It'd be interesting to hear all the different ways guys here are financing their travels. Imagine it would be helpful for those of us looking for direction in this regard...

If you can share some details, that would be good.

You are saying none of these threads were appropriate or you could have posted to?

Location Independent People--How Do You Make A Living?

In this thread which was in the search link I gave, the people discuss what they do for making a living while being location independent.

thread-5239.html

In it some discuss contract work, some online, some investments, ebooks, freelance translator.

The point of my search comment is to keep useful information consolidated on one thread rather than spread out each time someone posts a similar thread. By keeping info together, it helps others.

^That thread is FIVE YEARS old.

Programming languages have gone extinct since then.

I think a 2016 thread on this topic more than warranted...

No, they haven't.

And in any case; what was said in that thread still applies to today.

- ebooks/info products
- trading
- freelancing
- drop shipping etc...

^It was a sarcastic embellishment. (Though several have fallen increasingly out of use.) My point was 5 years is a long time ago when it comes to market opps.

Nobody is making a good living selling ebooks (despite what the internet marketers would have you believe). Same with drop shipping (no margins). Trading is basically poker for guys with finance degrees.

Any other suggestions?

What I'm more interested in is what YOU guys are doing. Hearsay, and red herring lectures on forum etiquette don't really add to the discussion.

How about you post what you have looked into since you already seem to know a lot about what works and doesn't work.

It is crazy how lately new posters seem to crap on people trying to help.

You dismissed some ideas pretty quickly, so clearly you know some things.

Ok, so I know a few of the above are unlikely to make someone location independent...

How would that info be helpful to this thread? [Image: huh.gif]

You just spat off a few ideas from 5 years ago. That's not helpful. We can all google the forum too.

As the title clearly indicates, I was asking for first hand experiences in order to get a discussion going. But for some reason, you seem intent on derailing the thread...

You have zero clue what you're talking about. I won't even rebut your points because you won't listen anyways.

Nice...

You dismiss a guy's post but refuse to (or are unable to?) to rebut his points.

Frankly, that's something I expect of a chick.

Do what everyone else does and sell ebooks on how to become location independent. [Image: lol.gif]

Things can change a lot in five years, but the same stuff location independent people were doing five years ago are still valid ways to become location independent today.

I'm actually thinking about writing up a datasheet on how to become location independent. But with lots of newbies coming in here lately and dismissing those who try to help them, I might reconsider. Dare I say I speak for everyone here, but we don't appreciate snarky attitudes around here... we deal with enough of that from females as it stands.

Everything I said above was accurate, yet you refuse to believe it - and not only that, you make strong statements like "nobody makes money selling ebooks" and there are "no" margins in drop shipping.

If you had said "I heard there's no margins in xyz" then it's a different story - I'd explain how that notion is incorrect. It's the way you went about it.

You said you're self you're not an expert - so why don't you get rid of your preconceived notions, and heed the advice given.

Well since you've ruled out ebooks, dropshipping and trading, that just leaves offering a service. But that requires being helpful, agreeable and value-adding.

So that one's out too.

I don't know what is wrong with the rest of you haters, but I'm not going to follow your lead. Instead, I'm going to add value to this excellent thread.

OP, I sell dick pics at $1 a pop to the less blessed members of the male populous who want to up their text game.

It's not a treasure trove of cash, but it pays the bills and I enjoy my work. PM me for details.

What's with newbies asking us to do research for them when there already is a treasure trove of freely available info?

It's just like that white chick who went to China, offers nothing special at all yet demands that the native men there all man up and start chasing her foreign ass.

No. The etiquette dictates that as a guest in our house, you bring a present. Instead OP is not only being a leech but then being rude to the hosts.

I'd definitely kick you out of my house.

What I love is when newbs make a thread, shit on the guys who want to help them and then wonder why said guys no longer want to help them down the line.

If the threads that the guys have linked you to aren't useful, then come to us with some ideas that YOU have. If there is a dude on here making major bank with an online hustle, he may not cough up the info immediately to some 22 post no, rep guy who's being snarky in a thread that he's asking for help in.

You don't have to bow and kiss anyone's feet, but being sarcastic to established membership is not the best way to ask for help.

OP, you remind me of that guy that everyone knows who asks for "help" but, in reality, just wants to shoot down everything that anyone throws at him so that he can be secure in doing nothing.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

If you still want to do it, you could post it in the other part of the forum where newbies and lurkers don't see it. I am sure many guys would appreciate it. I know I would. Thanks.

Newbie bashing seems to be the national sport around here.

Strange way to grow a forum/business...

I have to LOL about me being to expected to contribute to this forum. I'm new here. This forum has yet to establish it's value to ME. If you all think it's such an awesome place, stop yapping about it. Spit out some useful advice.

Maybe then I'll invest further in the place.

Roosh is part of the tiny exception. But it took him years to build a following...

Also, he was recently complained about his sales funnel. I'm not actually sure he makes much doing what he's doing--especially when most of his books are easily pirated.
