Bodrum 2015

Bodrum is a beach town in Turkey, on the aegean sea. There are many small town next to eachother: Bodrum city, Gumbet, Bitez, Turgutreis, etc...

Bodrum is a summer tourist destination (supposedly).

My general findings were:

1- Bodrum is a rather ugly or at least not impressive city with below average scenery. Ive been to Marmaris before and loved the scenery there, and was always under the impression Bodrum was even better/ more upscale, but i must say i preferred Marmaris.

2- Surprisingly, maybe 80% of tourists/people were turkish. In marmaris i rarely saw any turks outside of the bars staff, while Bodrum has both a bigger local population and is more a turkish destination. This seems to have been a recent development, and before there were more foreigners.

3- Foreigners get hit with overcharged prices everywhere. I can pass as a Turk and when i didnt speak theyd give me the bill with for a beer for 10 liras (maybe 3 dollars). when they found out i wasnt turkish the cost was 25.

4- The water is freezing cold. Seriously. It was August and it was a pain to swim at first everytime id go in.

Where to stay:

Focus on Bodrum city or GUmbet. The rest of the towns are more turkish and family oriented. I preferred Gumbet as its where the better places to go out are in.
Gumbet also has a nicer beach. Bodrum city beach is narrow and very pebbly.

Daygame:

1-The beach in gumbet. Walk around and see where girls are. However the beach takes a while to get busy, usually around3-4 in the afternoon. There are beach bars all along it with their beds in front, some charge for beds, others dont as long as you order food or drinks.

2- The beach in Bodrum: its uglier than gumbet's but you can still find girls there.

3- The shopping streets near the marina in Bodrum city.

Nightgame:

Both Gumbet and Bodrum city have bar streets.

Gumbet's is rather compacted and runs up a street up from the beach.
Some choices for Gumbet are:
1- Pasha: Mostly turkish music and overwhelmingly turkish customers. They give tickets to Pasha on the beach sometimes, otherwise theyll charge you 40 liras entrance. I liked the club, the staff/door isnt rude like most turk staff and its good for hanging out. Mostly turkish girls though, will get to that later.

2- Moss club: Shithole. It puts girls near the entrance table but inside its full of guys that they pack into the back. Avoid at all costs.

3- Posh club: most upscale club in gumbet (in reality theyre all dumps with crappy decor). They dont let groups of guys in, but youll see the hottest chicks head there. Mostly turkish music/customers too.

4- Xbar: Bar/club thing, you can pretty much see the clients from the street and decide. Most foreigners were there as the music is mixed and not just turkish.

5- Tigertiger, vogue, shakers, etc...: SImilar to xbar, you can see the place from the streets and decide.

Bodrum city nightlife:

1- Club Vittoria: similar to posh club, strict door policy against groups of guys, turkish-oriented and mostly turks.

2- CLub fink: didnt go but seemd the same as above.

3- Halikarnas: Biggest club there, its hit or miss depending on the night as it depends on the agencies hording people in. Ask around when is a good night if you wanna check it out. You should buy a ticket for it before going as theyll be assholes even when its empty inside to give the illusion that its good

4- Club catamaran: Its a boat party that sails at 1 am and comes back at 5. It was absolutely shit when i checked it out, full of nasty looking old men and families and kids. Again depends on people being brought in by travel agencies.

There are some bars alongside the beach but most were empty, except White House.

For nightlife id focus on Gumbet bar street mostly, and maybe check out halikarnas one night.

The women:

Turkish girls:
I had very good experiences with turkish girls in Marmaris, they gave me lots of iois and were very easy/sweet to talk to.
In Bodrum they gave me a lot of iois too, but theyd often shut down when they find out im not turkish. Turkish guys start circling you silently and make it very awkward for you. I suspect the difference is that in Marmaris the Turkish girls felt like tourists, while in bodrum they felt the peer pressure of the mostly turkish crowd. Also felt that Marmaris gets poorer turkish girls who were sweeter on average.

I met a gorgeous turkish girl but her girlfriend was very actively cockblocking (shouting at her and pulling her away).
And every time wed talk to a girl in the sea some loser guys would just stand there awkwardly. Theyre betas and non aggressive but they just kill your vibe.

Foreign girls:

A few french girls, few brits, handful of russians. Overwhelmingly turks, as said before.
I did meet one of the sexiest girls ive ever seen on a beach bar in Gumbet. She was from Moscow and dancing seductively for hours (her mom was there). Approached after seeing ten guys get shut down, talked to her mom with my few russian words, and she ended up saving the trip to be honest. Hung out with her most of the trip.

We also hooked up with two hot and slutty french girls.

In halikarnas also met a german girl that my friend hooked up with.

All of those were pretty hot to be honest, but i felt that we lucked out in that i dont remember any other hotties being available to us in the trip. I was passive though and if i wanted to be more active id probably hit on gumbet street passerbys more directly, but it was more of a laidback trip.

Although we met some hot girls, it was purely by chance and the ratios both in terms of male/female and turkish/foreigners were very bad.

I would suggest passing on Bodrum as it has neither the girls nor the scenery.

Thanks for the info. I've always thought about the Turkish resort cities but haven't seen many positive results here. I have banged some Turkish girls here in the US, but never been to Turkey, although I have a feeling that you could probably clean up in Istanbul with pipelining. The women are very curious and a 10 year age difference is not big to them, so even older guys could be getting 7+ with minimal online work (maybe that's just wishful thinking).

Local Turkish women can difficult. Some of them are hot, and some of them are cute, but many of them are bound by religion.

In my Kusadasi thread, I mention befriending a hot Turkish waitress at the hotel I was staying. We got talking, and it was obvious that she was very interested. Talking to her was actually fun, because she was still very feminine. But after a couple of months pass, any mention of sexual activity would make her angry, because she saw me as a gentleman who didn't care about those things (ha!). I decided to cut her loose, because she's older than me, and the only way I'd be able to get the bang would be to marry her. So it'd mean getting the bang when I'm in my mid-20's and she's bordering 30...no thanks.

It's been said on this forum that the best girls to go for in the resort towns are the foreign tourists, and I'd agree. Turkish women can hit the wall very badly after their mid-20's.

You know, it's funny, the first Turkish girl I ever met was in college. She slept with this guy in our dorm (ONS) and then the next day pretended she didn't know him.

I love resort game since I'm not really into flags and locals, I just want to have a good time in the process. But after reading that so many people here have bombed in Turkey, I'm afraid it would be a waste.

Nice datasheet, Beirut.

When I was a kid, my family would go for vacation to those resort towns in Greece and Turkey at least once or twice a year.
While it was nice, I became thoroughly fed up with those all-inclusive package holidays, as there was no adventure, no traveling, only beaches, infinite amounts of food, and annoying animation.

This was all before I was successful with girls or even interested in them, so I wonder if I´m missing out on something by not planning on going there in the foreseeable future. Friends of mine told me they always have a great time on the Greek islands and in Spain, but I think I´m just not the right type for this kind of vacation.

I remember a trip to Bodrum, there´s some archeological and historic sites to be seen that were quite interesting, for example the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, but I agree that the town itself is quite boring and nothing to speak of.

For Turkish girls in Turkey, I´d rather try my luck in Istanbul or Izmir.

Went to bodrum (Gumbet) on a club 18-30 holiday. The local turkish guys are the biggest desperados you will ever meet. They use to hang outside the main clubs (bar street) waiting to pounce, i mean literally physically pounce, on any drunk western girls.

In Australia, there plenty.... Usually after 25 and up, they lose the whole Turkish thing and just want a guy to treat them well.... They are too high maintenance after a while....... Good til you bang them, and then you cant be fucked.
