So I flew to Beirut for the weekend and thought I would give you guys some of my insights as to how it went down.
Transport:
Flights are cheap out of Africa via Ethiopian Airlines, and you can basically go anywhere in the middle east, Africa and sometimes Europe under $750 USD. My flight cost me $500.
Taxis for me were a bitch, because I don't speak Arabic so basically every taxi ended up costing me $20-$35 USD ( I only used 3-4 on my whole trip, I walked alot). I eventually found out from some hot Jordanian chick that you can use "service" which means Taxis that take 4-5 people per trip to your destination for $2-$4 usd).
Lodging, Food & Drink:
I stayed on Hamra Street, basically the hustle and bustle of the city if you ask me, and was close to alot of the Major attractions like American University of Beirut, Zaytoon Bay, and the Alleyway a strip of bars and pubs with loads of hot women.
I would recommend anyone who visits for a short period to stay in the Hamra Area as this is where alot of the action is and Hot chicks hangout, especially at the Starbucks and nearby trendy coffeeshops during the day time.
I had a hookup on the hotel, so I cant really go into whether the rates were cheap or not, but food&drink is not cheap but not uber expensive here (Minimum $15-20 usd for a shawarma meal, $4 usd for a coffee, $8usd for a glass of red wine, $5 usd for a gass of arak which is local brew)
Best Restaurants:
Barbar - Local Diner with amazing shawarma
This little coffee shop in the same complex of Starbucks, with amazing kofta kababs and a cool sheesha hangout.
Nightlife:
Loads of Restaurants, Pubs, Bars and Clubs. Because I was sarging solo It was difficult to get into nightclubs because you apparently need bottle service to get into the bigger clubs, but the pubs on Hamra and Gezemayeh (spelling?) street are full of babes which you can approach. The security guards can harass you at times (possible because I was solo and look darkish middle eastern/but don't speak arabic) but overall people are generally friendly if you are warm to them from the beginning.
You can hang around Gezemayeh street after 1am (Thurs to Sat), and hit on the drunk girls, many who speak english and you might find some luck.
I found that women were quite open to approaches, friendly, polite and at times would giggle at my heavy North American accent. BUT, to me it seems you need a little bit more effort then just a convo and few drinks to pull them in the sack. I think If Beirut was my base for 3-4 weeks even I would do very well here, following up on day 2;s/3's but as a party destination to bang multiple chicks over a weekend just did not seem to work in my case.
The party scene is definitely fun, but it could be even better if you had a local chick show you around, or some friends who knew the area. (I guess thats where pipelining comes in, note to self!). Theres tons of people on couch surfing who are willing to do this, and I think next time around this is what I would do.
Daygame:
If you ask me this is where its at, but again it requires some time and investment on your part.
The best place to pick up girls are as follows:
Hamra Street - Starbucks/ Road Side Diners/ Coffee Shops
American University of Beirut: Loads I mean loads of babes in the Uni and this area, which you can meet, talk too, game etc. Very friendly and hot!
Conclusions:
Beirut is a beautiful city with some of the most hottest women Ive ever seen, which I would love to spend more time in. I would say a visit requires a bit of investment ahead of time to make sure you have the right contacts there, and a 7+ day visit preferably with friends would be ideal to get pimpin.
