Las Vegas on the Cheap

If you are pipelining, most of the locals do not go to the strip, at least in my experience.

Its expensive as a hotel, but I think the best logistics for a bar is Bellagio with the Lily Bar. Its pretty dark in there, no cover, its not exposed to the casino like the Chandelier Bar would be with some couches and its very close to the elevators. On popular nights the couches might be reserved for table service though. The advantage is that it is an enticing hotel. If you have a view of the fountains, that can be your hook to get a girl to come to your room.

Is Marquee Day Club any good?

I'm thinking the logistics from there to Bellagio (where I'm staying) are pretty good versus Wet Republic and Encore Beach (which both have A-list DJs those days I'm there so the girls may be there more for "the music")?

Thanks Lothario and Drazen, those two bars are exactly what I'm looking for. I've found that meeting a woman for the first time in a place like that while I'm suited down puts her in the right mood. The Lily Bar (left photo) looks to be a little darker and more private, so if I can get a good rate at the Bellagio with a group code, I may go with that one.

Just a quick check shows a group discounted (AAA etc,), mid-week rate at the Bellagio is $144 for non-fountain view room and at the Cosmopolitan is about $140 (they didn't have group rates listed, so I would have to call or email them). Very reasonable prices for those kinds of hotels. I don't know about LV, but I've found with many hotels if you have a group discount reservation, they'll give you a free upgrade when you check in.

^^^looks good.

One thing about the high end Vegas hotel prices is you usually have to pay a "Resort Fee" of $30+ per night at these places. So you're adding a decent amount of $$$s nightly for the amenities. Thus, the sticker price isn't the full amount you are paying and over the course of 3-4 days it can be up to $100+ more in total.

Don't think the off-strip or 2nd tier hotels typically have this (although Hard Rock does - you can get Hard Rock rooms mid-week for $59-69 but there is a resort fee that almost doubles the price).

Most Las Vegas hotels, including second and third hotels, have resort fees. You can go online and see which hotels charge the fees and which don't. Everywhere I have stayed has had the fees.

I was in Marquee Day Club on a Monday and it was really quiet = more than half empty. As a hotel guest it was free, but maybe on weekdays it's free for everybody. Remember this was early May, so I think June - Aug you might find something different. Anyway, the setup is not good for you if you don't have a table. The whole place is about 40% the size of Encore Beach Club and if you don't have a table or cabana you'll either be at the bar or in and around the pool (that photo i posted of the chick with the $1 bills is the pool bar -- on Monday night). Check out the Marquee Monday night party to see it. Marquee Monday is indoors and outside around the pool (at least in May). I would say try EBC before Marquee, especially if you are solo.

By the way, in my post above (with the video) I got my nights mixed up. I was at Encore's European pool on a Thursday and Saturday (thursday was good and Saturday was the entitlement day), Encore Beach Club on Friday, and I was at XS on a Friday and Saturday with Friday being awesome and Saturday horrible. My takeaway is that maybe on the shoulder season when you are getting a lot of weekend guests from Cali and the Southwest, Friday is chill and Saturday is the overcrowded hungry dude day (but still not so bad).

I also tried the Bank club in Bellagio on the Sunday night where it's supposed to be good. It was the hip hop night and only about 2/3 full, mid-tier girls with all girls in tables and very few hotties. But in that hotel i saw more super drunk girls staggering around than in all the others combined.

I've found that for caesar's and cosmopolitain (at least) going the week before or after a holiday weekend (Memorial, Labor Day, 4th of July) results in rates of about 50% less. So you're looking at $100-150 a night for these hotels, with maybe $50 extra on Friday and Saturday. If you plan to drop lots of money at a club (omnia or marquee), it might be a good plan to go on one of those weekends, sign up for the points program, then get a free or discounted night next time you go during a more popular period. Also there are lots of deals but they are site specific, so scour the net for hotel deals. There are a few Las Vegas hotel discount sites (can't remember the address) and one offers 30% of Wynn. I ended up finding the best deal for Encore on Expedia which I normally never use for hotels. Last cheap tip is make sure you have a credit card with you. A lot of hotels want to pre-charge your room + an extras fee when you check-in, but they (caesar's) WILL NOT accept a debit card...

I wanted to stay at Encore and Cosmo this time around because I figured with the free or discounted club entry (let's say $50/night or day pool) it started to look OK, especially with the logistics gain ($10-15 min taxi each way to go anywhere). As for the resort fee, if you are going to gamble, you might as well ignore it or promise yourself you won't gamble. At the minimum bet tables you will win or lose that in 2-3 hands/spins/rolls.

My usual strategies in the pool is to be in the water and talk to girls there, so not really a cabana kinda guy. Its really easy to "bump" into them and start a convo. I'm thinking its logistically advantageous to have our hotel a 10 minute walk away. We'll have booze and a few other party favors in the room so that may be the proverbial carrot on the fishing pole. Most pics I've seen at Marquee Dayclub on the weekends looks a little thugged out and high ratio of bros/girls. The other option is Drai's beach club, which also sometimes looks kinda lame. Its DJ Vice at Marquee, who I think is awesome, versus Adventure Club at Drais who I don't even know who that is, so leaning towards Marquee Day Club.

I've been to EBC and Wet Republic probably a dozen times each so I already know what I'm missing. I'll actually be hitting up Wet Republic on the Sunday for Afrojack.

Usually with Debit Cards they charge the room rate + $100-150 per night incidentals authorization. You can usually get around this by not allowing ANY room charges (i.e. no room service paid on the room, no pay per view TV shows allowed, etc). Its usually a good idea to do this anyway unless someone else is paying for your room (i.e. work)

With credit cards, they just pre-authorize the charge and settle it at checkout. I've used my debit card a bunch of times, but it probably depends on the specific hotel's policy but Cesar's is part of Harrah's and they have uniform policies throughout their casinos I think.

And slipping a $20 between your ID and Credit card usually gets you some kind of upgrade ($20 trick) except some hotels are now automated with upgrades. I've never personally not had it work though, usually its just a nicer view room every once in a while you get a larger room. My usual phrase is to ask for a room "on a high floor with the room closer to the elevator".

Most locals go out during the week (free entry, comp tables for girls, industry people etc), most hot local girls go out during the week, but a lot of them our forced for by their jobs (I.E. girls that work at EBC during the day our made to party at surrendur at night, so it looks like there are tons of hot girls there).

Every strip hotel has a resort fee ( almost all are at least $20 )

There is a promotion from the MGM that seemed worthwhile to pass along. Rooms are from $70 per night, and the deal comes with a room upgrade to a premium view room, and a $75 meal credit. I'm not a huge fan of the MGM Grand (I find it old and dingy) but its very centrally located, close to the airport and acceptable for a low cost. Maybe some of you can use it to attend Aliblablah's vegas meet-up.

After I "liked" the Bellagio page in Facebook, I noticed discount offers would start showing up on my wall feed. I just saw one this morning for 15% off, but before I could check it out, it disappeared. It looks like many of them they only put up for a few hours, then delete it.

I'm gonna be in town on the weekdays for the EDM Biz conference:

http://www.edmbiz.com/

Sorry if it's been mentioned already but what are some good spots to go hunting during the week?

Thanks in advance
Reply

Las Vegas on the Cheap

You should go to the industry mixers.

But in general, the best spots are generally:

Monday- Hakkasan- EDIT: Oops closed on Mondays. I think it was XS then. One of the two is the good one to go to.
Tuesday- ???
Wednesday- Surrender
Thursday- Tao

It is EDM week so everything is going to be thrown off a bit, which is why the industry mixers are probably best. Wear your badge when you go out.

Solid info Drazen, thanks man! Especially on the wearing a badge outside.

Do you know how/where to find the industry mixers? Will they generally be advertised at the conference? If you'll be there, let me buy ya a beer at least for all your help man, thanks.

I saw they have a few after parties so was going to hit those up (one at Omnia with another pool party somewhere)

Will also be checking out cheap apartments and/or monthly hotels in area.

Additional note for you guys looking too book a hotel via Kayak/hotels.com and even priceline. It seems almost every website advertised low rates bit in the fine print, there's always a"resort fee " or "hotel fee" so keep an eye out for that.

I was going to stay at treasure island to check out the poor mans pool that was mentioned earlier but it's too far from the Cosmo where the conference is being held at, so staying at Linq due to it's proximity to the strip (for day game approaches) and to Cosmo.

From LA, YOU CAN TAKE megabus for about$50/$60 round trip but they sold out their tickets so am on greyhound new bus like called Bolt. Seems a little more ghetto but there's actually not that many people unlike megabus which usually packs them in full. Cost was similar to megabus.

Will probably eat at subway and that fukuburger along with the bottom of the ballys hotel as was was recommended on this thread. Total costs so far $750 $
($400 conference fee / $300 four night stay / $52 round trip bus fee)

Nah, I wouldn't touch EDC weekend with a 10 foot pole. I'm going next weekend for a bach party, got my flight for $130 round trip.

Looks like there is an opening and closing party:
http://www.edmbiz.com/schedule/general-info/

Tuesday- Omnia w/ Afrojack
Thursday- Blvd Pool

That's probably it for the "industry mixers" unless you can make some connections at the conference itself. The closing party might be lame, but the opening one should be dope. Remember, just because you have the badge will make you stand out a bit more.

Looks like the Fukuburger that was at the Linq closed, maybe it moved to Ballys?
https://www.caesars.com/linq/restaurants

Looks like it did move to that Hawaiian Marketplace.
http://lasvegasweekly.com/column/inciden...arketplac/

If I were you, I'd probably check out the Shake Shack at New York New York. I've never been but I've been wanting to try it. There's also a Chipotle and Panda Express between the Linq and the Venetian somewhere, kind of by the Dennys. Not sure if its still the case, but O'Sheas used to be a REALLY fucking cheap place to get hammered for pretty cheap. They had beer pong tables and huge $1 hotdogs.

Remember it is EDC weekend so there is partying going on all week. Dayclubs during the weekdays should be pretty good.

Since you're at Linq, your best logistics are at Drai's (probably your best dayclub option) and Omnia (across the street). There's also a monorail station at Linq that can take you to MGM. Wet Republic has a night party on Wednedays now called "WET at Night". Not sure how that is though. Always make sure to have a backup plan if you burn out a club or you're not feeling it. Pretty important on the weekdays when the clubs aren't guaranteed to be as popping.

Here is the schedule

Any tips on Omnia? I have never been, I think we're getting a table outside on the patio. Just want some logistics, where I should target girls in the club, the staircase/line to go upstairs situation, etc., that kind of thing.

Fuck guys, I just spent 4 hours with a girl that I met in front of omnia but was unable to close. We even killed my bottle of wine I had brought and was even cool with me massaging her and kiSsing but wouldn't let me escalate further. I'm Gonna see her three hours from now as she's leaving to Seattle but I'm pretty sure she won't be in the mood. One really needs to filter for the personality toes and energies that are dtf to avoid wasting time and alcohol.

I don't know, usually if I meet girls from Seattle they are hyper educated cock teases (especially the asians who are pretty territorial with their clique). There are some trashy girls in Seattle but they usually wouldn't go to Vegas as much as the buisness/tech types that work at Microsoft, etc. There's very much a "settle down" culture in Seattle, at least whenever I go there that's how it seems.

When I'm in Las Vegas, I'm usually really stressed out about making money and not putting a ton of effort into getting girls. That being said, I have had a completely different experience in that all the American girls who I have hooked up with there have been from Seattle. I don't know what it is. They've all been blue collar types too. I always seem to do well with girls from there, not just in Las Vegas, but in other places where I visit.
