I don't even think they accomplished that. Ferriss's whole point was work smarter not harder. You speak of people who were raised within strong cultures or tough times. Taught values and respect. The people these days, and especially the younger ones, have not worked for anything, earned anything or have been taught anything of value. Therefore, they have no code, no structure, no principles, no moral guiding compass. While it is disturbing to see some of this, it isn't surprising since our society encourages people to sell themselves (even in respectable corporate jobs, etc) for a perceived life, this mythical perfect life. It is the carrot that is dangled in front of them that keeps them going, this promise of something better after they do this or that. But it is a rotting carrot.
