How to Get a Script for TRT-- For Men Over 30

+1 to both Linux and Clean Slate.

I followed Linux's advice and went to a doctor in "boystown" and got the scrip![Image: banana.gif]

I laid the ground work by following (to the letter) the advice that Clean Slate recommends in his ebook. Buy it.

I just got my Testosterone today so I have not started it yet.

Excited and Nervous.

Thanks again to Linux and Clean Slate. I am truly impressed at the caliber and quality of men that post here.

Reading this thread made me upset about getting rejected for TRT from my Dr two years ago. I was complaining about the normal low T symptoms and came back with a test number of 317. I didn't know how low it was at the time, but reading this thread leads me to believe I should get tested again and find another Doc.

Yes you should. My doctor had no problem putting me on TRT with a level of 450 ng/dl at age 28. The guy even wanted to prescribe me hgh. A good doctor doesn't base his entire judgement on lab tests, but also listens to your complaints.

My endo just told me that 300 is the bottom end of normal. So you have to tell them about other symptoms like low energy, enlarged breasts (estrogen), lower libido, weight gain, etc.

BTW, if you have decent insurance, an annual physical is free and includes lab tests. They don't test for T or E as a matter of routine, but if you have symptoms of low T and you ask most docs will add that test.

I tested @ 302 and my Doc made no bones about prescribing me TRT in the gel form. My insurance subsequently refused to pay for it. Doc suggested a Compounding pharmacy where I pay out of pocket $50/mo. Belly fat has dropped dramatically. I'm 41 BTW

Gel is garbage man. Go read and listen to TRTRevolution. I highly recommend Jay's book. I think you can even get a free pdf off his site: http://www.trtrevolution.com/

Gel is going to rub off on women too and fuck them up. Plus it doesn't absorb uniformly and a host of other issues. It's only popular with doctors because it is a patented delivery system (can't put a patent on testosterone itself so it's cheap) so Big Pharma pushes the fuck out of it and doctors are ignorant to how to prescribe an effective TRT protocol.

I've said this before, but I've done every method of T ingestion there is.....

...just inject. It's not that hard. Gel sucks.....doesn't give you enough.

I've considered finding a source for gel just to keep it on hand for situations when I might be traveling to a country like Japan where carrying any type of gear or needles will almost certainly get you rejected at the border. Even then, as long as I was only staying 7-10 days, it would almost be easier to just pin a weeks worth, take a commensurate AI dose, and ride out the wave. Downside is it would spike your levels a bit, but if they are already fairly stable and you have a strict protocol, bringing them back to normal should only be a matter of resuming that protocol when you return home. You might have to deal with a week or so of ups and downs but they shouldn't be unbearable and even then they shouldn't linger for more than 10 days.

I've never had a problem carrying test and needles to Japan.

About the gel, you're overpaying. For the same $50, you can get you a vial of test which will last most people 13 weeks. Get off the androgel and just pick up generic watson/paddok test cyp.

How do you carry? I haven't been in almost 10 years and it seems like all I read now is case after case of dudes getting hassled at the airport for showing up without a script and a pre-screened acceptance letter from a Japanese clinic.

Might be harder for me since I don't have a script, but if there's a particular way you carry that gets you through, I'd love to hear it. I am planning to go later this year and do a week each in Tokyo and Osaka.

I don't advise trying to go though customs anywhere without a script.

I've been to over 50 countries and my methods are always the same. I put the needles in my checked bag and carry the testosterone on the plane in my bookbag. I don't try to hide it. If they ask me what it is, it's my medication and the script is attached to the testosterone box that the vial is in.

Ok, so it's a script thing.

I've never had any issues traveling anywhere else without a script since I started which, thus far, has only been Thailand, Singapore, domestically within China, back home to the US. I usually just chuck my 10ml vial into my toiletries bag. What I do with my pins depends on whether I'm carrying a checked bag or not.

Why did the insurance not pay - what was their argument and did you try to push back?

My doc is recommending clomid once I clear up an unrelated health issue. I guess even if insurance doesn't pay those pills are cheap.

For those visiting the doc, to get insurance to pay it may be necessary to mention other health issues you are having - reduction of libido, ED, brain fog, sudden increased weight in breasts, belly, inability to focus.

Also, be sure to get your estrogen tested, especially if you are over 40. Mine shot up in the last year. At the same time, I have been having episodes of brain fog and inabilty to concentrate.

Absolutely. Also, for those considering TRT, watch this video. Location is not as important unless you are Australian, but the main points are spot on.

How to Get a Script for TRT-- For Men Over 30

Hi All,

Thanks to Linux for this thread.

I'm in Colombia and been on TLT for almost 2 years> You can get all you need w/o a script here. It's had a fantastic effect on my life- well worth it as I went on it at 45 and it was a game changer. However, I needed a prescription to bring back to the States on my visits. There is a Doctor in Bogota who is very liberal with prescriptions. He has an initial fee of 250,000 COP to see him (about $80 USD) and he will order a very comprehensive series of base-line tests that run about 1,400,000 COP (about USD $460). After that he will try to get you on the pellets but you just say you prefer injections (which you can buy prescription-free at any pharmacy). He does have HCG (which can be difficult to find in Colombia lately) available for purchase and a host of other "anti-aging" supplements and medications.

After the initial consultation and tests, you just tell him that you occasionally travel internationally and you need a script to bring the medications to these countries. There, you have your script. And you never have to see him again if you don't want to.

That's what I did and it worked perfectly for me. The Doctor is Dr. Andres Lucena and he speaks some English for you non-Spanish speakers. His website is https://www.doctorlucena.com/

Has anyone got it in Australia?

The requirements for a subsidised prescription are high, but how hard is it to get a non-pbs prescription?

This sounds a little too easy. The urologist that I saw told me that since testosterone was a controlled substance, if I went on TRT I'd have to sign a contract with them that I would not be doing TRT at any other clinic at the same time. Now I see you say you can just get it with a prescription?

Also isn't that since you go on TRT you'll have to do it for the rest of your life?

It's very straight forward, you go to a urologist, you take your blood test, you get a script for 6 months, you then fill the script at pharmacy "wallgreens, costco, riteaid", you call in to the doctor after six months and they write you another script, You redo and revisit the urologist once a year. So your out of pocket cost is the urologist $99, once a year and the cost of your testosterone which is about $60 a vial which will last you 10 weeks per vial assuming you're doing 200mg a week and using 200/ml test. Very cheap, very easy, no insurance needed. You only call the doc at the 6 months mark because urologist can only write controlled substance scripts for 6 months at a time.

As far as your urologist, most doctors are complete idiots. They care about covering their asses while masquerading it as doing what's best for you. You're a prime example walking around at 35 with a test levels below 400. I would not trust doctors or the insurance company to tell you what's best for you and your longevity. Do your research with the thousands of medical and sports journals freely available at your local library by using their intranet. As far as the contract, I don't know but if you are on TRT from a urologist, why would you be going to another clinic anwyay. And yes, TRT is for life. I don't recommend cycles.

@linux

As someone who just got their first testosterone reading done this week at the age 31 and scored a lowly 314, I am extremely appreciative of this thread.

Thanks!

So it just a case of going to my local GP, telling them I want to have a blood test to gauge my testosterone levels and giving them this list of items to test for?

Or do I have to see an endo initially because not every facility can test for these?

I’ve called up some local endo’s (referred to me) and all of them seem to have no openings until late jan/early feb next year.

Once again, just looking to have tests done at this stage.

Thanks

Walk into the doctor and say you want a complete blood count, a total testosterone, and a PSA test. Those are all very important test to have, and should be available at every hospital or lab in your country.

I was the same until ~35. I got old, tired, cranky, you name. Got old overnight basically. You will see the same yourself someday.

Big thanks to Linux and Cleanslate. This has changed my life tremendously. I now hope the SJW cancer/globo-homo agenda never tries to take away our sauce. This stuff is a life saver.
