Kaley Cuoco (big bang theory) says she's not a feminist

Quote:Quote:

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, who is currently pulling in $1 million per episode on The Big Bang Theory, recognizes the strides women have made toward equality.

But that doesn't mean she considers herself a feminist.

"It's not really something I think about," she told Redbook magazine for its February issue, on newsstands Jan. 6. "Things are different now, and I know a lot of the work that paved the way for women happened before I was around ... I was never that feminist girl demanding equality, but maybe that's because I've never really faced inequality," she said.

Cuoco-Sweeting, 29, who married husband Ryan Sweeting, 27, on New Year's Eve last year, said that she cooks for him "five nights a week: It makes me feel like a housewife; I love that. I know it sounds old-fashioned, but I like the idea of women taking care of their men. I'm so in control of my work that I like coming home and serving him," she told the magazine.

His last name is attached. I think famous women normally keep the maiden name because that is what they were known by. Hilary only stopped going by her maiden name to help her husband's campaign

Short hair is not always a political statement. Some girls are misguided enough to think it actually looks good.

Kaley Cuoco (big bang theory) says she's not a feminist

I've suspected for a while that it's becoming unfashionable to identify as a feminist. In this case, part of that may be owed to its utter humorlessness. Kaley Cuoco is a star in perhaps the most popular comedy show on air right now. Why would she want to identify as part of a movement that notoriously has no sense of humor?

Interestingly, it was only a couple weeks ago that Maisie Williams went after Emma Watson's U.N. speech. Both the actress and the Guardian had some similar rhetoric:

Quote:Quote:

Williams is a feminist, though it’s not an issue high on her agenda. “There are creepy things that people say online that I shouldn’t have to read,” she explains, “but there are bigger things going on in other countries.” We talk about actor Emma Watson’s recent UN speech, in which she talked about her reasons for becoming a feminist, and the need for men to be onside; Williams says she is impatient with this kind of “first-world feminism”. “A lot of what Emma Watson spoke about, I just think, ‘that doesn’t bother me’. I know things aren’t perfect for women in the UK and in America, but there are women in the rest of the world who have it far worse.”

2014 surely gave us no shortage of reasons why public opinion may be rapidly souring on feminism (and this forum has covered them far more thoroughly than I can do justice), but I sense ever more wariness growing around the word.

She's playing societal role dressup:

teens through 20s - independent party girl
30 to 40 - short hair cut, mom weight, molly homemaker attitude
40 to 55 - kids reach teenage years, she will reach 'eat pray love' status and decides she needs to get divorced and find herself
55 to 65 - big turquoise native jewelry and crystals years. She will preach love, peace and social welfare programs
65 to death - Ignored by her children, fades into obscurity, gives her estate to charity.

To be fair, she cut her hair for a film role.

I guess the challenge will be if she grows it back out eventually.

Kaley Cuoco (big bang theory) says she's not a feminist

I saw this article but didn't think anything of it. I despise her character on The Big Bang Theory, it's the typical western bitch that you want to avoid. She's not even hot, she's mannish and her voice grates on me. Leonard is such a beta simp that I actually cannot watch it anymore. I know when bitches cut their hair short it isn't always a feminist move but nevertheless it makes me despise the woman.

The purpose of the article is one of two reasons. Since being a feminist is 'fashionable' these days she's just attention whoring by being different. She is no homemaker and she inherently possesses all of the attributes of the 'strong, independent' woman of today.

or

Normally when women in the media appear in articles like these it precedes a divorce case and the sole purpose of the article is to win (even) more public favor by painting themselves in good light. Mark my words, I smell a divorce coming real soon.

As far as lessons from BBT, maybe, "don't be like those guys"?

The Sheldon character is kind of funny because he's so detached from his own sexuality his indifference leads to moments of "accidental alpha".

If only you knew how bad things really are.

So is Barney Stinson from HIMYM. This doesn't stop either of them from being excellent characters.
