It is happening again - Twin Peaks back in 2016

Mother in "My mother is coming" is probably same entity that gave birth to Bob and same one that killed the couple having sex from the Box. But also, it is the same entity Mr.C shows to Darya on a playing card before he kills her!

I also thought of girl being Sarah Palmer, interesting that some also picked that up! But I don't know her biography, did she ever live in NM and moved to Washington state.

I am curious as why do you refer to these things as from "alien planet"? They are clearly from another dimension, i.e. "Astral".

Massive Lynch and Twin Peaks fan ...I actually got more into the second season the darker it got.

Shelly and Audrey were stunning in the day!

That last episode really was pushing the limit [Image: confused.gif]
It does feel a lot more different than the original and more like Lynch's other works.

I found scenes like the Mystery Man and Window Earle's so much more darker than the very, very tired & extremely overrated shit of the likes of Heath Ledger's Joker or the other clown Leto.
Plus there was none of the contrived locking themselves in hotel rooms with little kindergarden scrapbooks, leaving used condoms around etc

Fair play the Mystery Man did kill his wife so maybe he truly wasn't acting!

Good catch about the card in the first episode. Then Cooper said "this is what I want". So I assume she's clearly some sort of an evil super power.

About another dimension, perhaps so. I prefer to see it as an alien planet both because the giant clearly showed a map of earth on his monitor, and because of this scene, which clearly states outer space. But then you can also say another dimension, based on string theory [Image: smile.gif] Let's just settle for "not from earth as we know it".

^ This was a great episode, they basically explained the origins of Bob and his gang!

Here's my take: back in 1945 a nuclear explosion was tested on earth. With all the warped atoms, an anomaly in the form of an evil spirit emerged (Bob, shown to come out of the insides of the explosion). The atomic explosion probably warped him from his home planet to earth (explained in a moment).

Remember that Bob is "the evil that men do" (a quote from season 2). Lynch is a pacifist, so it fits him perfectly to have Bob come out of 'the evil of the atomic bomb'.

On a distant planet (alien activity as the source of the black lodge gang is mentioned several times in season 2), the giant gets an alert that 'something bad happened' (his device is sounding an alarm).

He goes upstairs and sees what happened on earth on his screen (the bomb, and bob, who is probably from the same planet as he, coming out of it). To balance Bob, he forms the bubble with what would later become Laura Palmer, and sends it to earth.

It could be that the insect that crawled into that girl's mouth is what came out of that bubble, and would inhibit souls throughout the years until it eventually will make its way to Laura.

Remember Bob wanted to "take Laura's soul" (FWWM movie), and killed her since she refused. He was obsessed with her specifically since she was basically his nemesis.

We actually got some answers in this episode, so I really liked it. Obviously we got a bunch of new questions as well.

This is my personal interpretation.. feel free to debate.

This and the posts right after are actually a pretty good analysis of the weird visions in the nuclear cloud, and may explain Bob's origin (and the one armed man). I wasn't so sure about aliens at first, but that would also explain the Garland Briggs tie-in as well.

But remember Project Bluebook on which Windom Earle and Garland Briggs were working on was on first research on UFO and ET phenomena but after it took Black Lodge focus. Meaning they realized that there is immediate connection between "aliens" and BL spirits. That is why Briggs got radio message regarding Cooper. Everything is connected through radio waves and electricity.

Also there is one thing I forgot to mention. When chubby lady looks at golden sphere it has Laura's face on it. But we all assume its Laura. Why do we not take another angle? Remember when Cooper was talking with Man from another place? He said "She is my cousin, but doesn't she look like Laura Palmer?"
What did the red demon thought by that? Did he meant to say that it was a doppelganger or some kind of alternate version of Laura? Maybe golden sphere Laura is not our "Earth Laura" but "BL Laura".
Just my theory...

Have something that will blow your mind. In third installment of Lynch's Hollywood trilogy, Inland Empire, a weird woman (played by Sarah Palmer actress) says something.

Skip on 5:27 and listen to the short story she says. Who is little boy in the story?

Little Boy

Why I think of this connection? Because practically all his movies are from same universe.

I think the same. Supposedly, the spirits are 'the aliens', and they commute from their world to earth through electricity. Cooper just took the same journey in episode 3, as he traveled from the 'dark ocean' place where the giant also lives, through electricity, to Dougie's call girl's house.

What came to my mind is Hawk's story about the white and black lodge, a 'legend' known to his people for a long time, presumably way before 1945. Also in season 2 Cooper finds an ancient map to the lack lodge, dated before 1945.

So that explosion is not the first time the spirits came to earth (since the black lodge existed earlier), but it may have renewed the "portal between two worlds", allowing a new batch of spirits (Bob, the "got a light" woodsmen and so on) to come in.

What did the red demon thought by that?

Most likely he was foreshadowing Maddy's visit (Laura's cousin).

Another point: if the Laura Palmer's 'bubble' landed on earth, the egg it delivered hatched, and that insect went inside Sarah Palmer, that also explains Sarah's "visions", her being able to see the necklace being stolen, Bob etc etc (season 1 pilot). That creature gave her these powers (we know these 'aliens' have psychic abilities as evil Cooper repeatedly demonstrates them in season 3).

The last episode was incredible. I'm really glad David Lynch had the freedom to take the show somewhere new instead of just trying to recreate the earlier seasons.

The boy who kisses the girl could be a young Gordon Cole. He clearly knows more about what has gone on than they have let on so far.

Yes, I agree. Now the storyline with the local businessman and his librarian mistress makes sense, in a weird sort of way. I was wondering what tied him to all this.

I feel bad for the actor who played Major Briggs– he is featured prominently in these recent episodes and would've been a great addition to the show.

^ Alexa rank of this website is 300K, which is high, reached there within 3 days (internet archive shows nothing so this website is new). Quite a few people took interest apparently! Also funny that it's made with modern scripts like html5 and jquery, and twitter megatags haha. Try clicking the donate banner on the site [Image: smile.gif]

By the way the last episode sort of proves your assumption about 'another dimension' rather than 'an alien planet'. I guess I was too realistic in my theory [Image: wink.gif] Yet, the website does mention string theory which I mentioned as a 'scientific' explanation for these 'other dimensions'.

Terms don't really matter. I call black and white lodge, Astral. Astral is the western esoteric term for one of the "afterlife dimensions". I look at Giant and the Fat Lady as upper Astral inhabitants (purple "planet") and black lodge as a coarse, lower, evil Astral.

Now here is where things got interesting. I finished 3 days ago reading "Secret History of the Twin Peaks" by Mark Frost. Please read it. From it you can deduce a lot as it is described connection between atom bomb and Twin Peaks. Its really simple when you look at it.
Also, remember white "Mother" giving birth to BOB? That is actually demon Aleister Crowley talks about. Now, I mentioned him as in the book there are paragraphs about Jack Parsons, famous scientist who worked on rocket engines and actually is father of modern rockets together with Von Braun. He was a friend of a Crowley and sorcerer. He wanted to invoke godess called Babalon and he wanted to cross the Abyss. Abyss is the home a powerful demon called Choronzon. And in the Twin Peaks, "Mother" looks like she lives in the Abyss, pitch black reality.
Parsons died in explosion. People say that he managed to invoke a fire demon who killed him. Interesting thought, indeed.

You can see here connection Crowley - Parsons - US science establishment - TV series. I dare to say that Twin Peaks is very "realistic" in its portrayal of dark forces.

Interesting video. Sex Magick. Not something talked about outside of serious occult studies.

Traditionally, sex magick was very male centric. Perhaps a separate discussion for this forum?

Twin Peaks is not all about this, but we cannot refute that there is underlying connection between Crowley (a sex magick practitioner), Parsons (his pupil and friend), scientific establishment and us, viewers, through this TV series.
I see it all as a long string of connections and Lynch being one who wants to present to us this "alternative reality", because this is not mentioned in mainstream view on reality.
In my opinion Lynch is good guy, well read and informed that uses what Jay calls "twilight language" to present to us truth, however weird it may be.

The new series is hypnotizing and continually finds unique ways to be more bizarre than ever. I would have lost money on the lack of Audrey (still no appearance after the first 11 episodes of The Return) along with the Dale Cooper we know and love (though Dougie-Coop is still entertaining).

Ms. Horne finally showed up in what seems to be one of the most polarizing installments thus far. Don't know how this will be wrapped up in only 6 more episodes. I'm already hoping for another season.

True, I was surprised by her appearance and events she is involved into. Curious to find out why is she having a cuck for a husband.
