I'm glad Nungesser got the settlement and he certainly hasn't deserved all the vitriol thrown at him.

That said, look at his reactions earlier. One of the first things he did when coming forward was to declare how he was a feminist raised by a feminist mother.

I spoke with friends in NYC last year and in 2015 and there was a lot of extra stuff circulating around about Nungesser. I won't say it's true, yet the general impression on campus prior to the Sulkowicz eruption was that Nungesser was a fellow traveler in ideological terms.

I have the firm belief that if John Smith down the hall at Columbia had been falsely accused of raping Sulkowicz, Nungesser either would have turned a blind eye to the witch-hunt or even participated in it.

This is, of course, a counter-factual, but it's obvious that many guys in college will only ever see the light if they are direct victims of a false rape accusation.

That's a rather pathetic threshold for starting to give a shit about the sociopolitical climate. If even 10-20% of college guys refused to participate in this mess and railed against it, campus "rape culture" narratives would probably fall apart overnight.

The guys who lose about $500,000 in lifetime extra earnings by being booted from college unfairly are also kids if that's our working definition.

Guys younger than Nungesser saw their comrades blown apart at Iwo Jima (or the Battle of the Bulge, as Nungesser is German) and still kept charging. Most of our grandparents had three children - and were raising them successfully - at the age when Nungesser was reading a Michel Foucault book at Starbucks.

Even in red-pilled communities, there is a tendency to adopt painfully low benchmarks for the behaviors and ideologies of people who are actually adults.

We've been cutting too many privileged, dumbass college men a break for far too long. I sat in lecture and exam halls for years with guys exactly like Nungesser, except they weren't accused of anything.

I have immense sympathy for Nungesser for what has happened during and after the witch-hunt. Yet I have zero sympathy for the culture-shock he faced in being accused initially. He bought into the hype of a typical Ivy League undergraduate ideology and that hype bit him hard.

The stupidity of many of these people is mind-boggling. I would be considered half-privileged or more and I honestly don't see what the issue is. Everything stares us in the face, it's a matter of whether we can swallow reality.

Any guy out of high school can see that draconian "sexual assault" policies only will apply to him and other guys caught up in he-said-she-said. They're also aware that the evidentiary standards are abysmally low.

"What would happen if a girl accused me?" is the completely easy question none of these guys are asking themselves.

Here's how these manlets think:

Sexual assault "epidemic" + always "listen and believe" + I'm a feminist, too = automatic guilt for those accused

Still, they don't take the final step of realizing that if they make one clumsy move or the girl simply regrets their bedtime shenanigans, he's going down the same path of the unfortunate guys he reads about in the college newspaper better used as toilet paper or kitty litter liners.

The time for extra feels and sympathy for these guys and their naivety is over.

My 1st year in university in Canada, I was taught not to "objectify" women.....until I was falsely accused of sexual harassment because a female on campus was "offended" that my accent sounded 'misogynistic", such as in that because my accent is "guilt by association".

So no matter wat, even if you are impartial to feminist politics on campus, SJWs will eventually attack you. Mind you, I'm not even the type of person to challenge the status quo, though I have an open mind on things.

Step One of me being Red Pill was when I received a Change dot org petition on my campus email in 2013 where a male student wanted exemption from a class dominated by women; at first they worded it as if the petition supported the man's religious right to avoid women on campus, but when I re-read it, and read the comments, it was a vile feminist attack on a man who wanted to avoid women because of his "religion".

So even if it is DEFCOCK 1 on campus (as it is in various campuses in Canada since 2012, except for Quebec), even doing a MGTOW move such as requesting to avoid women on campus is considered 'misogynistic'.

So, men lose in any regard....they either be falsely accused of sexual assault, or they are shamed online for requesting an exemption from attending a female dominated class. It's a lose-lose battle for men for civil rights on campus.

The sausage fest is the point. Men need to see schooling and their education has a thing of extreme focus. Women can be a distraction, even if a wonderful distraction with the right woman. I was furious about this, so I had a long phone call with the resident title IX coordinator. I stated my various objections, and finally, he relented. I didn't have to take the test to register. But how many men are willing to do that? How many are even aware of how pernicious this is?

It's very difficult. Any possible objection is coded by these people as "misogynist" in advance. So men are very wary, as they should be, given the despotic power that administration holds over students in the USA.

What were some examples of the objections you raised to get out?

Corporate world is full of mandatory trainings to hammer home corporate policies. They are fostered by a litigious environment because 1) they offload risks to the individuals accused of perpetrating harassment and 2) it gives institutions a defense against any lawsuits filed against them.

I objected to the test being mandatory – you could not register at the university unless you took it.

Those who engage in assault, do so knowingly, I argued. The title IX admin believed rape was caused by ignorance – hence the need for "education". There are all kinds of reasons for rape. But lack of education is not one. One instinctively knows when the line is crossed.

I believe these are strictly personal matters. When a boundary is truly crossed, it's a legal matter. For the university to encroach here is an egregious overreach into the community.
