These prices are in Odessa and you know these prices are right, which leads me to believe what someone said earlier in the thread...you are trying to stop people coming to Odessa/Ukraine.
Reallly? You figured out my diabolical plan
. Now idiots of course MOST of us would want out of UA , in fact I would want them out of NYC as well and planet earth as well.. I will let the jury decide what category of brilliance you fit in.
Your welcome to Odessa..in fact since you love it so much I will sell you mt flat..what do you say? Reverse psychology!
Dude..your not making a good name for yourself by parroting a guy who just got banned for trolling who NEVER was there. It was bough to my attention that he is/was trolling RVF on the Nomad forum..even used same name.
I am Not in Odessa at the moment so I can't comment. If you use your reading comprehension skills you will see that I said the prices will eventually adjust itself. It always has...are you going to say 14 years of watching what has happened is out the window?
The IMF and EU pact even guarantees price inflation in the near future.

Rent prices have crashed in Odessa, I looked at a luxury 3 bedroom apartment in centre the other day for 900 usd. Landlord was renting for 1500 USD before.
In Kiev I was renting a hostel dorm for 50 uah a night and it was empty, normal price would be 100uah.
Its not just the devaluation in uah, it's also the political situation. People are scared to come to Ukraine, less tourists equals lower prices in many sectors
Clothing prices have risen considerably, then again many retailers have excess stock to clear so there are some great bargains to be had
Wow..now your using my own examples to prove your point? Which don't even contradict my points. Your a riot!
Go back and read..I gave the same explanations. NONE OF THEM HAVE TO DO WITH CURRENCY DEVALUATION..THAT IS THE POINT I WAS MAKING.
My flat went from being worth 135k to about 70k since 2008..the market had crashed, has nothing to do with currency. As Greek ,myself and Dave said the local economy is pegged to the dollar, all of UA is.
Odessa in addition to having an excess of apts that go over demand has a CASH issue. Most people want dollars for flats and it is hard to get dollars in large quantities atm so less flats are being sold than normal. At the CRISIS with Russia and there is a perfect storm. But again (yelling) that has nothing to do with currency devaluation.
I also mentioned the excess stock issue but that will change when stock runs out. Elimination of trade tariffs will make some of the imports cheaper but unfortunately less demand because of income issues.
Overall your probably paying similar as someone payed last year for many items and just don't realize it.

Like I said it's not that they cost less, but some.clubs in arena city like decadence aren't charging a cover at all. And that's at the weekend.
Again more due to supply and demand but if demand is there it will be adjusted. Give it time!

The prices for hotels, clubs, restaurants remain always the same after depreciation of gryvnia in Ukraine since they are calculated in dollars. These are the main expenses a tourist will have.
Bingo exactly!

I'm not sure about Roosh's experience in Odessa, but I have found Odessa girls the sluttiest in the whole country, i'm here now. Yes there are money hungry scammers, but they target the older guys straight from USA.
Actually I partly agree here. In my old datasheet of their mentality I said such..the reason is Odessans act more like western girls. That includes the bad traits as well! It is also a city that is known for centuries as hooker capital in the region.
My biggest complaint is that the girls act snobby and even feminism exists there. It is a city where women don't need a man. But again the really hot ones do belong to some rich guy. I even heard girls telling guys to FUCK OFF!
Not all guys on RVF want to go to a city where the women are more independent, think their all that, foreigners have no status, and they don't need a man attitude etc. As my wifes girl friend said "Sex and the City is like Odessa lifestyle" Since most guys going to Ukraine don't want that..my advice is completely sound! Stay in West if you want sluts..much easier and cheaper than gaming Ukrainian sluts.
But if you read my old DATA sheet you would see that I did say they are the most western mentality of whole FSU and that includes slut behavior. In fact I mentioned that the 1st sex shop was in Odessa.
P.S.--they prefer older guys than younger guys so I question your comment??I don't mean real old..but 35-40 seems to be the preferred range for anyone over college age. Why? because they think guy is more secure mentally and financially.

Hipsters?, they probably make up less than 1% of the female population of Odessa, maybe higher than other cities but who cares, hipsters here can be hot and slutty.
Who knows %? but the artsy type % is high and the Odessan style in many of our views is not as hot as Eastern UA ..but that is an opinion so yours might be different.

I've found some wonderful girls here, one is taking a shower now while I write this. She has been with me for more than a month, never asks me for anything, never complains, always a smile on her face, she's wonderful
Well since we don't see those girls we will take your word for it! After all your rep here is VERY sound.
But I do believe they are smiling. Do you not find that odd? I have met many tourists to Odessa that say the girls smile in Odessa just like in USA. If you been to other cities you will notice they don't. Is it because of their special humor they are known for? or is it because they learn to fleece tourists from a young age by behaving proper? I leave that to you to decide...visitors and expats alike have spend time debating that one.

If they really lowered the hotel prices after grivnya devaluation it would be surprise for me.
He might be right..but because of supply and demand issues NOT the currency devaluation. But I would suspect that to change if tourism picks up. As I mentioned and Moriarty ignored, Odessa has an excess of flats and that is keeping prices very low. But that has nothing to do with currency devaluation nor even the CRISIS. Odessa has for a city it size too many flats that were built and too many selling. People rent or try to rent until they sell them.

10 Eggs 11 UAH(Same as 6 months ago)
A pack of cured ham 27 UAH, probably a few UAH more(but not 50% more)
Loin Pork Chops 26 UAH, again a couple more UAH than usual
1 Litre of "Rich" Orange Juice(My favourite one) price unchanged in last couple of years 11 UAH
Fusilli Pasta 500g 13.55 UAH, maybe 2 UAH more than usual.
Strawberries 16 UAH
Doesn't mean much for most of us because it depends on what we paid 12 months ago..but I suspect since everyone has to eat prices will go up more and higher gas prices generally increase food prices (worldwide actually). In fact EU will start buying more food bringing up prices. When I was there last year I paid I believe about the same.that means currency devaluation had very little effect.
But again..go back to reading comprehension. I stick by what I said...prices in UA aren't cheap by USA standards since 2005. It use to be cheaper..in fact I could spend half of what I spent on food in the USA. Now it is the same and in many cases it is more for many things including meat.
For example:
14 ozs of Fusili pasta I got at Stop &shop for 99 cents
my wife just picked up Strawberries for a buck.
Pork chops on sale 1.99 lb
Eggs about the same since we get 1 dozen.
This is NYC prices....
Funny because Rasputin night club(closed now)..famous Russian club cost 10 bucks when i went a few years ago. Many NYC clubs are free if you get on a list(not hard since my pops use to be in the club business).
Got Lacostes shirt for 35 bucks that I saw selling in UA for close to 100 bucks.
I stick by my view that NYC is cheaper in many ways..plus you don't have to buy girls drinks here lol.
@Mariarty....are you buying my apt yet? Please do! You really shouldn't go to Sudan. It really sucks and is bad for chicks(hoping he will fall for my reverse psych and go there
)
That being said..since you believe in conspiracy theories and so did SpecialED..I am going to go out on a limb here.
I could be wrong..its my police OCD
but are you friends with SpecialED? or even the same person?
I mention this because (drum roll) it seems like he is KISSING your ass in some pass threads. Reminds me of blind leading the blind routine.
You should also re read what Kamaki said about Dollars being used. In Ukraine(imho other FSU countries as well) local commerce is pegged to the dollar(or any stable currency). It has always been that way. When people got paid in local currency the 1st thing they did was exchange it for dollar(Euro maybe). That is one of the reason you get better exchange rates in the black market..there is a demand for dollars. Now probably more than ever. That means most non gov't services are going to be forced to adjust at some point.
