Great feedback from the ground here! Loving it here! I'm really impressed by what I'm learning about Vietnam and Saigon in particular and I'm really considering it as a place to be based for a while.

I just put a very basic profile on Vietnam Cupid and the talent is pretty decent with some good looking girls. I'm getting some good interest from there!

I assume the talent to be much higher on the ground in the clubs, bars and everywhere, right?

Full disclosure: Personally, I am not all too fond of Saigon. (Withholding judgment on the rest of Vietnam.) It was interesting to live there for awhile, and it took more than 3 months for me to really decide how I feel about it. It does get a little better on the ground, but like Corroncho said, most of the best talent is probably bought and paid for. If you like what you see on Vietnam Cupid, then you should be happy here. If you like hotter girls, you might be disappointed about the quantity, and you may find them to be not worth the trouble. The women in the 25+ age group are a bit more pleasant. The young hotties might dump you first.

Man, these girls all have lives. That sounds like a weird complaint, but I'm having trouble scheduling the daytime dates during the week. In the philz it was easy to schedule 3-4 dates a day. But here in Saigon, everyone seems to actually have a career, so they get off work at like 5pm. So I can schedule one date per night, plus dates on the weekend, but I'm having trouble getting girls to meet me during the day on weekdays, which is definitely slowing down my flow.

So go out and meet them at Starbucks, schedule 2 dates in a night, and try mornings.

Testing pipelining as my friend and I just decided the next trip we take will be to VN mostly due to $. He speaks a moderate amount of Chinese and is Chinese born.

He's been to China multiple times already (never gaming) and it costs more I am guessing so VN is the winner. Too bad he doesn't like dark-skinned Asians I really wanted to hit Jakarta!

I'll be in Saigon by this time next year. Not exactly going for women (well...they're at the bottom of my priority list). It seems to be the best destination in SEA to bootstrap an internet business. And the visa situation there is much better than Thailand's. I'd honestly rather live in BKK but I'm not going to deal with leaving the country every couple of months.

From my understanding is that Saigon has a big entrepreneurs community, fast and reliable internet, cheap living costs.

If you're looking to crack in with other Westerners and network, I'd seek out 'The Word' magazine. It's a monthly publication that reads very similar to a 'Time Out' magazine that profiles Vietnam, specifically HCMC and Hanoi. It's actually a really high quality production that will be your Bible to bars, restaurants, cultural events, travel, and networking events each month within Vietnam. Anyone who is anyone from The West living in Vietnam reads the magazine.
