Mathematician hacked OKCupid to find the girl of his dreams

A few points:

-If this guy took his effort plus about a few weeks of reading CH, Roosh, and this forum, this guy could've have turned his experiment into a well of pussy.

-The photos Professor Fox posted (post 23) are great, damn I really have a thing for Asian girls. All are awesome except for #2 which almost looks like a ladyboy and #5 which isn't too attractive.

-Definitely got Zuckerberged, smart white guy falling for a ugly to mediocre Asian chick.

-I like how he used his bots to ping each of the potential matches and his profiles were baited properly for each type he was after. It is almost like fishing for women.

-Does OkCupid have captchas? If not then this would be pretty simple to throw something similar together. I imagine his first thought wasn't about getting dates but just seeing if he could code something together and it went from there.

This is probably really important to consider. This is a guy who is an extreme nerd. Having a girlfriend is much less important than "technology achievements." He loves being married to his nerdy research. The touch of a woman is secondary to that, which is why he is cool with a stupid Skype relationship with a Zuckerwoman.

I give the guy props for at least flipping the script and having twenty girls a day message him out if the blue. I can't say the same for myself- I rarely have girls message me. I always have to be the one to send the first message regardless of whether or not they checked me out first.

Another thing to consider is that girls don't answer surveys honestly, even if it is in private. The rationalization hamster makes sure of that. They might think in their minds that they want a nice guy, but it's the alpha badboy that reall appeals to them on a subconscious sexual level.

He's also pedestaling like crazy over a future woman that he hadn't yet met. All the work to find "the one" is evidence of this. If things don't work out, not only will he be questioning his romantic decisions, but he might start to doubt his competence as a professional mathematician.

For the most part, okcupid's matching system is a farce. They only good thing that website does is open a whole new dating market for people with social anxieties who prefer not to out to clubs. In reality, it boils down to being a hook up site (even club people are on it).

For me, Okc is essentially a takeout menu.

I'd still like to have that kind of robust army of bots automating my okcupid activities.

Maybe we can reach out to that guy and get him on the forum so we can get hold of his technology.

Actually this begs the question: has anyone he had success or heard Of a successful way of automating their online game?

The mathematician Christopher McKinlay linked here from his hompage!

My fiancee and I were featured in this really sweet article.

How many women would go through what he went through to get dates online?
I already reviewed Amy Webb's similarly obsessed story Data: A Love Story in the Knowledge, Arts, and Letters subforum here. But McKinlay did some actual programming and analysis, while Webb mostly made a list of 72 qualities, got flattering pictures, wrote a three-sentence profile, and then let the JDate betas flood her Inbox.

Erika "A Little Nudge" Ettin went on literally around 100 short coffee dates off JDate until her schedule forced her to meet her future husband Jeremy in the evening for alcohol.

Finally, we don't know how successful the mathematician's 88 dates were. John Lennon had lots of options; just different priorities than you.

In reality...didnt he waste a lot of time.
He made accounts to data mine and actually went on dates with a lot of people that he had nothing in common with.
88 dates? of chicks you went out with for date sake...
why not just actually write girls you like?

No, I think you missed it. He called this thread a "really sweet article" so obvious sarcasm.

Exactly. Another science-minded dweeb thinking he can funnel down meeting chicks into his strength--math problems, puzzles, and Sudoku. To the chagrin of these nerds, meeting girls is an art, not a science. You have to be creative, performative, and improvisational. You have to take social risks. You have to improve yourself. You can't punch your wishes into your graphing calculator--from the safety of your desk--and expect to get anything better than what he got which, as I've pointed out in other parts of this forum, go to bed praying for white dick anyway.

So much effort wasted on an ugly chick.

We call that a poor return on investment of time.

That's pretty funny. I'll bet that he has a Google Alert setup to notify him when his name pops up somewhere on the internet. He may even be a lurker here.

He wrote a book on the technique: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HY351S2. Searching github isn't turning up an account for him, so he probably never published the code. The math is neat, but it sounds like half the battle was evading bot detection. As with most projects, it starts out being all about some cool algorithm and ends up being about just making the damn thing run smoothly.

He supposedly made $60K a year playing blackjack, so that's pretty cool. I personally would ditch the math and play blackjack for a few years until I could retire. It sounds like he got what he wanted out of it. She's not my cup of tea, but whatever.

All signs point to Asperger's.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

Also, it points out the silliness of the questions on OKC. He couldn't find the girl of his dreams answering honestly, so he set out to figure out what the honest answers should be. And yet their relationship is apparently working. That says that either he was giving the wrong answers, or she was, or both? Strikes me that the questions are irrelevant if you have to apply clustering algorithms to your target's answers to achieve a match.

I'm betting most of us on here use a different algo: browse pictures and find the chicks that make your dick swell, and message them. Get the digits quick and set up an in person date and then run your usual game.

I disagree that she's "busted". I gave her a 4 due to her lack of effort in her appearance. Beauty is all hair and make-up.

Let's take a close-up of her face. She has no pimples or craters in her skin. She's tan. Average Asian girl face. Greasy hair and dorky glasses which area probably popular in her circle. I say for $200 and 2 hours in a salon she could be "cute".

*Image of her face zoomed in*

WHYYY WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS! WHY WOULD YOU HAVE HER PICTURE ZOOMED IN! I almost fell out of my chair, Its THAT scary!

Yeah, it's amazing how much of a difference makeup and angle can make for Asian girls. When I saw the first picture, I thought: "Damn, this is more like an Asian 8.5 for me." The face could be slightly improved beyond the current "cute", and the body is excellent. Plus, when I see the massive (pun intended) degeneration of women going on in the West, I have started valuing chicks who keep themselves in great shape a lot more.

But looking at the second pic, the "7" mark is quite precise. Assuming that's the same girl that got the tattos later, of course. If these are two different girls, then I'd say "8" and "6", respectively.

Top is a hard 9 sir.

And I refuse to believe that the second one is the same girl. Besides the fact that her face doesn't really look the same, I can't imagine a world where a girl would voluntarily go from #1 to #2.
