Looks are subjective...

Majority of the 9s in that pic are simply "ok"

That said, there are certain "looks" that I call distinct ugly that I find highly attractive because while most won't find the chick attractive, I find her highly attractive.

A throwaway question is a question that has at least one "throwaway answer".

A throwaway answer is an answer that almost nobody would choose. It's almost a joke.

One of the first questions you see on okcupid is "which is worse, abused animals or children?"
a. abused children
b.abused animals
c. both are equally bad
d. neither are bad

D is the throwaway answer.

B could also potentially be a throwaway question as few women would say that abused animals are worse than abused children.

Most of the questions on okcupid do not have throwaway answers. They are the exception, not the rule.

So... OK cupid recently changed its scoring system.
They no longer have the "Mandatory" answer. Now apparently "very important" is exactly the same pointswise as "mandatory" was.

Mandatory was worth 250 points and now apparently very important is now worth 250 points.

Put another way:
Mandatory (old okcupid talked about in the book) = Very important (new okcupid) = 250 points.

There is no longer anything worth 50 points.

So does anyone know what we should do for questions with 2 acceptable answers? The book says rate it very important for 50 points, but now very important is worth 250. So do we rate it 250 or do we rate it 10 points (somewhat important)

New scale is:
a little important = 1
somewhat important = 10
very important = 250

This throws off the formulas in a big way
