so i've experienced 2 months on very little/low carbs. of course i would eat a pasta dish or a nice burger (not mcdonalds) once a week or so, but never ate any type of breads, pastas, or rice with my meals i ate at home.

i've been back on carbs for the past few weeks and i've got to say that i already feel much better. i'm able to work out and play sports so much more and i have more energy. my main sources of carbs are brown rice for lunch, rye bread for breakfast, and every now and then i might have some pasta.

i'm able to get a work out in the morning, a jog in the afternoon, and play sports every night, and i feel a significant increase in my energy and focus.

Of course you feel better because your body never got used to the "little/low carbs" because you were eating pasta and burgers at least once a week. That's the worst thing you can do when you go low carb because your body will not properly adjust.

yeah.

i feel like my metabolism is still fast enough for me to be eating carbs so i'd rather get my fix on them now before i start getting softer. that doesn't mean i'm going to be stuffing my face with KFC, oreo cheesecake, and pizza hut every day, but if i'm eating out with my family, why should i restrict myself if i'm at a fine dining restaurant and trying to enjoy myself? i'm all for discipline but if i'm young, athletic, and have a naturally fast metabolism, i've got to enjoy myself every now and then.

i'll definitely give it another go once i start to see myself becoming less active, but that isn't going to be anytime soon.

My average carb intake is about 50g and i've been on this diet for about 7 months and i must say that i'ts fitted my body amazingly well. I've never looked so good as i have now and this diet is perfect when combined with hitting the gym, because of the massive protein intake. I barely have any fat on my body and the muscles are really showing, like never before. Not too much so I look silly but as i said this diet has given me a really nice physique.

I'm going on low - carb for some months now, but my biggest issues are:

- I tend to make my own food for work, and comfort wise, sandwiches make the most sense. Anyone has a good carb - free solution for this?

- Dairy...how should I approach it? What should I avoid?
