Moving to Miami

And Lavinci, I want some feedback on what you think of Miami. I love California. Which part of California did you live in and do you like Miami more? Are the women really as good as everyone says? Do you run into a lot of brazilian girls out there? Are the girls dificult to get with? And is the ratio of girls higher than guys?

Aspen, Colorado. It's a huge melting pot to begin with. I would say around 1/3 of the people living here in the winter are foreign, but it seems like close to half of those are Argis and Brazilians. Plus even more come out just to visit for a couple of weeks. I'm speaking Portuguese every day at work in the Winter. It's a different story in the summer. I've spoken it to maybe 6 different guests and only 4 of them were actually from Brazil, the others had just spent time there but were from Chili and Argentina.

"I feel like there's difference between Cali and Miami."

Huge difference. It is probably better to compare Miami vs a specific city in California.

I could give you a decent comparison breakdown on a California city vs Miami, as I have spent mad time in all.

It's likely because Aspen is a lot like Bariloche, Argentina - a wintertime, upscale ski resort. Winter in Argentina is from July - Oct.

Check out the website, it probably looks a lot like Aspen I bet.

Yep, Bariloche is our sister city. I know a ton of Americans from here that go there as well. Most of the Argis out here are either from Bariloche or Buenos Aires. Mostly BA though. There are also a decent amount from Cordoba.

Moving to Miami

lavinci,

I can completely see how you felt that way.

" I lived in San Diego for a few months and back then I disliked the ubiquitous Hispanic vibe. Now since I've just recently moved to Miami and I've come to love the Hispanic vibe, ha."

The Latin vibe of San Diego and Miami are like night and day.

San Diego, contrary to popular belief, is not that Latin. Something like 25% and it is focused in the south and east parts of the city. It is also primarily Mexican and not recent immigrants. Long term families, sometimes many, many generations (some families since back when California was called "Alta California"). Go to a place like Pacific Beach, and you would be hard pressed to find anyone that knows any Spanish beyond being able to order a Carne Asada burrito.

Miami is like how lavinci explained above.

"I find that international Latin girls don´t give you the cold and rude sholder as much as US chicks when you cold approach them with day game, something much different from my days of approaching at Pacific Beach boardwalk in San Diego."

Being Eastern European would go over Way better in Miami than San Diego. San Diego girls would think you are "weird" for having an accent. In Miami it would be normal. San Diego's population is not very international or sophisticated. It is more like a bubble in the corner of America with great weather year round.

If you like Latin girls, Miami is a way better bet. To swoop fly Latin girls non-stop in san diego would be a real trick to pull off. Unless you are dialing in TJ beyond belief.

Both places are decent and cool, but generally speaking, one type of person is going to do better in one or the other.

Unless you are like your humble author who kills it in both.

i've spent some time in both SD and Miami and they are completely different. Most people in SD are more Mexico and Central American while those in Miami are from Latin/South America. Mexico has some hotties but mostly the poor Inca/indigenous population are the ones who leave, the rich hot fly honeys stay put. Big difference. And going out in San Diego is about as ethnically white as you will find in a coastal/major city in the US. A very high percentage of the young adults who live in SD moved there sometime after college, often from the midwest or east coast, stay for about 3 - 5 years, then go somewhere else, often times back where they came from, or up the coast to LA or SF. The people that move out there aren't your career oriented types, they're mostly into the laid back beach culture and it shows. But it makes for a transient, laid back city, where as while some people move to Miami its not nearly as transient and people will settle down there as opposed to using it as a place to hang for 3 or 4 years.

Read up on where you want to live. There´s a huge difference between living in South Beach and say Kendall. The real Latin American Miami is more in the inner Miami, Kendall area.

So are you saying Kendall is a good area to live in? "Good" for me would be close to somewhere I might be working, probably in hospitality. Lots of fly girls around. Lots of places around to meet people, I.E. Restaraunts, nightclubs, coffee shops, bookstores. Being within 5 miles of the beach would be a huge plus as well, or at least having easy access to the beach, like a 5-10 min. bus ride. I've seen a lot of good deals on rent in the Kendall area.

Brandon,

What's the word? When you moving to town? Just got back to Miami from South America and just read this. Have you read up on Kendall? It's a very specific place, far away from the beaches. Unless you really want to live on a budget since its cheaper, and in the real inner Hispanic Miami away from downtown and beaches, I say isn't not worth living out there. I don't really know that area too much.

Yeah, I was looking at the Kendall area and it didn't seem like a very ideal location for me. One of my good friends lives in Coral Gables and I was supposed to move in with her. She's living with her boyfriend now but wants to move out of his place, and wanted to stay in Coral Gables area, but she just called me no more than 15 minutes ago and told me her aunt has a free appartment she is going to let her stay in, but only 1 bedroom. She says that she's gonna check it out and see if it's in an ideal location, and if so she's going to take that instead, which kinda fucks me, but also gives me a place to stay for a couple nights when I first get there. This chick would be ideal to live with. I've known her for 4 years and she's super chill. She wouldn't care if I was bringing girls home everynight and she would probably be out partying with me every weekend, she's like one of the homies, and it's a plus going out with her because she's pretty good looking. She was also talking about just renting it out though and moving in with me if she can get away with it. I bought my ticket for October 6th. Thus far I have no place to stay once I get there and no job lined up, but it looks like there are plenty of each from what I'm seeing on the internet. I don't have a car and plan on porbably working on South Beach since that's where the nice resorts are. I'm hoping to live in Coral Gables or South Beach area if I can find reasonable rent. I don't really want to commit to anything before I see the place, so I'll probably end up staying in a hostel a couple nights and house searching the first couple days I'm there. I'm trying to get a month to month appartment share or something like that until I can find something more permanant. I'm pretty nervious since I'm just packing up and going with no plans, but it just seems like it will be better to decide things once I get there. You have any advice or pointers I should know before I get out there? I don't really know anything about the area asside from the general layout I've seen on google maps, but nothing really as far as what's in each neighborhood. I was thinking Coral Gables because I hear there's a monorail that passes through there and drops you off in downtown, with easy access to South Beach. I hear it's one of the nicer neighborhoods in town. Is that right?

Man miami is as close to heaven for a guy like me in the US. How safe is it for a white guy to go out to clubs that are predominately hispanic? do the males get angry and cause problems?

Brandon E,

"I'm pretty nervious since I'm just packing up and going with no plans, but it just seems like it will be better to decide things once I get there."

Don't sweat it homie. You are certainly not the first or the last person to end up in South Beach with no gameplan. I am sure you will embrace it once you are there.

"Man miami is as close to heaven for a guy like me in the US. How safe is it for a white guy to go out to clubs that are predominately hispanic? do the males get angry and cause problems?"

Miami always seems to have this vibe of danger and impending doom. But that is one of the reasons I like it. Well, actually its the girls, but that's neither here nor there.

Miami is kind of dangerous. But you will manage. Just keep your wits about you and be smart. Like you would anywhere else in the world that is not soft like Parkay.

Oh and I've been hanging out with a super cute girl from Germany out here. She coincidentally lives in Tampa, Florida now. She had heard that it was hard to get girls out here because there weren't that many. I told her I don't know if it's necissarily hard, but probably much harder than other places. She told me that Florida is the opposite. She says it seems like there are 2 girls for every guy. I can't wait to see if this is true. I've also heard it from another kid who lived around that same area.

And a side note:
German chicks are rad to hang out with and pretty fucking cute, at least the ones I met. They aren't cold, as everyone has that impression, but actually the opposite. My only problem is the girl wouldn't put out for shit. It took me 4 dates to get a kiss. I stopped calling her. She called me and I decided to meet up with her again, she was being prude again. She told me normal people in Germany usually take things real slow, though there are sluts as well. Fuck all that noise. We still keep in touch. She's back in Florida and says she wants to come visit me when I get there, but I'm thinking maybe out here I'd put in the effort, but once I'm in Miami and have hot ass all around me, I'm not gonna be playing the waiting game, even though the chick is definite girlfriend matterial.
It looks to me you have a target goal to get to Tampa as fast as possible. Maybe you should slide into a near bye town to get a feel of what is to cumm, then move on up to Tampa. Eidoos77. [Image: banana.gif][Image: banana.gif]

Brandon,

I have only one pointer but a good one. If you feel it for South Beach, then don't even be thinking about anything else, just come down here and you will love it. I live in South Beach a few blocks from the beach and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Especially if you'll be without a car. Forget about your friend in Coral Gables, forget about Downtown, forget abot Miami Beach, just come straight down to South Beach and you will see what I mean. The diversity of the talent walking down the streets from your place is worth every top dollar you pay. If I take just a five minute walk around my block I have a chance of meeting local and tourists stunner girls from all over the planet, because South Beach is not just Hispanic, there are a lot of European girls because they love Miami. These few blocks are the ultimate place to be for every single guy in the US.

Life's a party, live it while you're young man. That's my advice.

Man, you are the second person to tell me that today. The assistant GM of hotel I'm working at now grew up in Coral Gables. I pretty much told him what I posted here and he told me, "Just go to South Beach. Find a shitty place for $500 a month, and you'll love it." He also mentioned Coconut Grove. He said those are the only two places I should even consider. He said Coral Gables is sterio-typical american suberbia and it sucks. This guy is my AGM now, but I know he use to throw down back in the day. I'm thinking South Beach would be my ideal zone. It seems like a good place to be. And even if I'm paying a little more in rent, I'll probably be working around the area, it would probably end up costing me close to as much $ + time just for the commute. Why note pay the extra $ and save my time by being right there?

Thanks for the advice bro, it sounds solid. I'll probably be seeing you around South Beach some time soon.

Nah, if she wants to come to Miami to visit me, that's fine. But there's no way I'm going to Tampa just to visit her. I have no interest in visiting Tampa again. Been before, the amusement parks are fun, and I would think there should be decent nightlife since it's a College town. But I'm sure it would cost close to the same amount for me to fly to Colombia from Miami. I'd much rather do that for the experience, even if I knew I wasn't going to get laid in Colombia. There are 1000s of places I would rather go than Tampa, and I'm sure in every one of them there are girls as cute if not cuter than this one. Especially since I haven't even F-closed yet. My time can be focused on more lucrative prospects.

Just got to Miami last night. Sooo many beautiful girls. I've only been looking for a place to stay, that's my first priority. I think I have a spot for $560 on 24th street, not far from SOBE at all. It's hard to find good places, but they are out there. This place is tiny, but clean and a nice neighborhood. I just got my resume done tonight, time to go start handing them out. It seems everyone is having easier times finding jobs than houses. There are a bunch of kids at the hostel I'm at in my same boat, staying until they find a place to live. I think I'm gonna like Miami, def. like it so far. Where are you staying at lavinci. Send me a PM if you wanna meet up.

As a latin man from Miami- here is my advice, have fun with everyone - even guys will eventually hook you up with girls. However, to avoid pissing anyone off in a club dominated by hispanics, make sure you take another latin guy friend with you. Just one is cool, but take 2 if in a rough, lower class neighborhood hispanic venue.

Do not act like you are better than latinos, especially when on their home turf in a club you know nothing about (common sense) - that will piss off many in a heartbeat, and get you a beat down.

I was hanging with Baberuth at a latino club about a month ago, and he is a red-head, white kid from Gainesville - he stood out like a 2 dollar crack whore at a nun-convention. This was in a lower-class, latin club of Miami full of latino thugs (but horny, mamacita latinas too). BabeRuth did not have any issues as he followed my guidelines, and he was with another latino, namely me. Not to mention the smoking hot mamacita he scored.

Overall, latin guys will be cool with you hitting on latin girls, if you don't act like a prick, and be polite to everyone.

Luck!

I got that place, I'm stoked! It's 10 blocks from South Beach and 2 to the normal beach, all moved in. I went to Reggata yesterday, if you guys know what that is. It was pretty legit. There are a lot of fatties and butterfaces in Miami, but I would have to say it's still above average as far as girls go. It's 10x better than where I moved from. Still trying to figure out if Vegas or Miami has better girls. So far from what I've seen I'd have to say Vegas is better as far as looks go, but I haven't even gone to any clubs or anything like that out here. But Miami has tons of Latin girls, which is a huge plus for me.
