I rented an apartment from them that was next door to where he lived. Once in a while a group of us would go out on the town or drink wine with Czech girls...That's when I came to love the Netherlands and the beer Oranjeboom and also where I realized I wasn't going to make any money in Muay Thai. Fond memories though. If I were to move from Thailand, the Netherlands would be the place I would want to move. I love that country.

I bumped into Dekkers at the Ripley's Believe It Or Not in Pattaya once, around four years ago. I don't know if the Maeng Ho is still open but they made the Golden Glory Gym which has turned out quite a few top-notch fighters. I figured that you would be familiar with him since you trained in Holland and have been in Thailand so long, its pretty cool that you got to know him. I didn't know who Dekkers was until a friend of mine posted about his death on Facebook, that guy lived an interesting life and the sport lost a great athlete, he was a machine!

Yeah, I can definitely see that. I actually miss Miami to tell you the truth. I really started to get to like it towards the end of being there. I was getting real good connections and making dough, though not the kind of dough it takes to really ball in Miami. I was just working so much that it was hard to take a lot of advantage of the connects I had. I do think the place would be a blast in ten years when I see myself having a nice bank roll. Hell, it's a blast even when you don't have a large bank roll.

Newbury st, for example, used to be endless cafe's where people would sit outside smoking and drinking coffee all day. Today all the cafe's are gone. Just high end clothing and furniture stores.

Clubs used to be everywhere. Today the dance club I learned dance floor game, the same club I met my Bboy mentor, the same club where people would hook up inside and then fuck outside in the alleyway, is now only used for birthday parties and bachelorette parties.

I know what those days were like G. I know what the good side of America used to be like, and I actively compare it to the world I'm in now when searching for girls. If I showed you a few pics of the girls I've banged I'm sure you'd agree.

But the amount of effort and time it takes to find hot Ameriskanks to kick it with has dwindled to unacceptable levels.

The US has changed a lot, and IMO I agree it's largely for the worse at least as far as personal freedoms and social relations between the sexes go. The g*ddamm fattitude and obesity is just incredible....everytime I come home I'm just amazed at how fat Americans have become, and how unstylish they are compared to the ROW typically. And I hate to rag on American women but I find a lot of what has been said to be true. Sure there are some normal 'diamonds in the rough' who are great, but outside NYC and Miami, or certain parts of Cali and/or social circles in the South where women are a bit more feminine, you're screwed. And marriage is basically a non-starter...ANY man with decent coin runs an incredible risk in marrying an American woman. It's not just that they are completely entitled with a 'what's in it for me' gold-digger mentality replete with unrealistic expectations about life and 'happiness' - but more importatnly the aftershocks you get with the mental changes in women being on the pill, the weight gain, post-partum depression or whatever the hell else disease they get these days. And not to mention how women tend to overmedicate themselves into oblivion, taking you along in the process. A couple things go wrong and you're getting @ss raped in divorce court for eternity.

That said, I don't think places like NYC and Miami will change dramatically and will still be good for some time. The thing about those two cities is that they have a massive international presence that just drives the cultural and social scenes, and there's always an abundance of new blood coming in and/or tourists showing up for a week of partying which creates good flow for any player. And with all the foreign buyers propping up the housing market and bar & restaurant/club scene u benefit from that too.

Have read that before - love Stickman's site. Haven't completely given up on thai women though. The guy raised some good points but as always they don't fit everyone.

A lot of them are poor marriage material but there are some solid ones too. If you like a real traditional, meek type of woman that doesn't drink or smoke, doesn't talk a lot, cooks and cleans as if by duty, likes to scrog 3 times a day whether you want to or not, etc. Which to me is pretty ideal as far as a long-term partner goes. The honesty thing can be a headache, but if you learn not to let little white lies bother you and just accept the increased harmony, it isn't the hugest deal.

Keep in mind that when we prowl the bars for easy pussy all the time we get a pretty shitty snapshot of Thai women - well, depending on what it is you want to see.

Yeah, he himself does point out several times during his essay that he had met at least a few Thai women whom he was interested in marriage-wise but who turned him down (either for marriage or mere dating).

Whether that just makes them above his class, or sluts who chose the carousel instead of marrying him when he was interested, I can't say. I am only speculating here because I've never been to Thailand but, while I would view most Western women through the latter lens, I think I'd be more permissive for most Thai women (provided that they're really as warm as described).

Interesting article, but a lot of the points the writer makes about Thai women actually apply to all women. For example, he points out the fact that Thai women only marry up, not down (hypergamy), and the fact that once married and secure, their children are more important to them than their husbands. Both of these I regard as basic biological truths.

Not at all, it's mostly about life in BKK and until recently he wasn't really writing much about girls. He got a lot of flack for introducing the girl of the week photo with some people saying it was "cheapening" his weekly article.

Stick is a great writer, very clued up, knows a lot about Thai women and life in Thailand. He's written a lot in the past about going out to off the beaten track clubs in BKK far away from the tourist areas and meeting girls etc.

I recommend you start reading.
