This depends on your tolerance for communication breakdown. The average level among young professionals / college students in the neighborhoods mentioned here (Roma, Condesa, Polanco) is around 'low intermediate', with a few above that and quite a few below it (only able to give basic information about themselves, ask very routine questions and discuss familiar topics in a general way). It's harder for them to understand you than vice versa, so keep that in mind.

There are of course plenty of advantages (besides getting laid) to learning a foreign language, especially one like Spanish.

1) It's spoken in 20 countries around the world, so it'll serve you well in your travels if you go to LatAm or Spain or anywhere where Spanish is spoken
2) Opens up an additional cultural and historical universe to you since you can now enjoy classic Spanish works of literature, movies, etc
3) It'll help you with your career as being bi-lingual is seen as an asset in many business areas
4) Stateside there's a substantial Spanish speaking population, so even right here you can start to more aggressively game Latinas

And really, even if none of the above appeals to you, once you travel to some of these countries, you'll see that it's totally worth the effort because it can make it much, much easier to get higher quality local women wherever you are if you speak their language. If you're goin to be spending the time + money to get on a plane and travel, might as well give yourself the greatest odds of success by making the time investment to learn the language.

Your gringo-ness alone will not wow them (unless you're a Channing Tatum look-alike maybe), since they have plenty of competitive local suitors vying for their affections. Such women will not be bothered to put in the effort to speak in an unfamiliar (to them) language for long; they'll tire of it and retreat back to their mother tongue.

Daygame is cool if you have the time. However the overall volume from happenstance daygame is not enough unless I am looking to fuck like 5-6 girls per year. With Tinder it becomes 5-6 girls per month, big difference.

I simply do not have the time to just hang around and spam the main walking street with cheesy openers like some RSD bro. (nor is the ROI very good on that).

This whole thing about you need daygame and nightgame so you're socially calibrated and bla bla bla is only true if you are like a 20 year old kid who needs to build confidence. I have my shit on lock, Tinder provides the best ROI for me. Of all 3 avenues for meeting girls (nightgame, tinder, and daygame) i feel that tinder penalizes me the least for being a hobbit sized 5 foot 5, so I optimize my profile and take advantage of it.

I am prime candidate to hit out of my league on tinder. My IG has tons of followers and i'm constantly traveling the world. I have a handsome face that I can emphasize while not emphasizing my short height. I understand how social media works, I understand how optimizing profiles and A/B testing works, I have a good system in place to get girls out and my close rate to fuck on first date ranges from around 50% in Mexico City to 95%+ in Phillipines.

To imply that those who rely mainly on Tinder are not socially calibrated and need "training wheels" or don't have the guts to approach CAN be true but it doesn't mean it always is.

My experience with latina's for ONS are very different from your perspective.I wanted to share them as this forum is about sharing our respective experiences.

For ONS Physical attraction plays a major part for the women in latam countries than other aspects . Just using google translate, non verbals and Kinko I have gotten lays so I do not think learning spanish is essential if you are just looking for a lay. gringo-ness helps out as Many girls want to practice english and it is a major advantage. I have come across many girls who are just looking for a ONS and prefer someone who is not going to be staying there for a long time. Unless OP plans to live or marry a latina and needs spanish to impress in laws it would not be essential .Most young latina's in the USA speak english so spanish speaking is not needed unless there is a need to talk the girls relative .

Yeah, I've gotten laid in the DR and in Mexico City as well using nothing but Google Translate, but of the 5 such girls only two were what I'd consider a 7.5, the others were solid 7s. I think if you want to pull the top-of-the-line "fresas" as they're called, the 8+s and do it consistently, you will need Spanish. Or maybe I'm just not good lookin enough to do it only with English I remember meeting this super cute chic at a club in DF, she spoke maybe 5 words of English. I got her contact but when I tried setting up a date, she apologized saying it wouldn't work because she couldn't communicate with me lol. I was kickin myself for my lack of Spanish...

Foreign visitors to Mexico City often come around Christmastime because it coincides with their vacation, but keep in mind that it also coincides with Mexican vacations. This means that those who can afford to leave the city (for the beach or 'provincia') often do. Many business choose to close during this time. It can be a great time if you want to see the city without much traffic but there just isn't a lot of energy or action here.

Today I saw quite a few gringos walking around Condesa during the day, looking for something going on. I'm sure they were disappointed. They probably thought that Christmas would be party time, but most people are hanging out at home with their families.

Also, December isn't summer weather here. You can always spot foreigner visitors because they're wearing shorts and flip flops. Don't do this.

The official holiday season ends here on January 6th ('Reyes', Three Kings Day).

Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos; early November; roughly 'Halloween') is a better time if you want to see the city alive. Or just go to the beach now.

My plane lands around 5 pm in Mexico City on Dec 31. I would get to my airbnb in La Condesa by perhaps 7 pm. I saved $250 on the airline ticket by going on Dec 31 a s opposed to Jan 1.

New Years will be approaching in some hours of my arrival- and I have no idea what to do. I read that most Mexicans usually stay in and have dinner with their families. So there is not much New Years activities.

Anyone have reconmendations, please let me know.

Also why are gyms expensive in Mexico city? May someone recommend an inexpensive gym in the area.

There's Roma Gym (a few locations; dumpy; gay vibe; day passes).

There's also a national chain here that isn't that expensive ($20-$30 USD / month, depending on neighborhood); clean and basic; requires a credit card but they have a plan that allows you to cancel without major penalties. You'll find it with a little googling in Spanish. Don't be lazy.

I usually hit places like Monterrey, Chihuahua and places like that, but I never been to further south.

How are the women in Mexico City? Are they pretty? Do they have curves?

I always had this mindset that Mexico City or "Chilangas" are ugly (feas) from hearing social media. But never been.

What luck, I found a New Years outdoor party happening at Angel de la Independencia which starts at 9pm and it is only 6 to 8 blocks from where I am staying. How lucky is that -- I will arrive by 7pm - just enough time to unpack and head out. After the countdown, they are planning to go to a nearby pub or else they will go to someone's house.

If you can pull good looking girls in the states and you can speak Spanish then you should get equal value and above when visiting DF.

Also, the longer you stay the better. I find that quality girls take 2-3 dates.

Depends... For the lower quality chicks probably so compared to the states. But for the higher quality girls (fresas) they will not be easily impressed simply by you being from the states. You'll need to have game or social circle invite.

Do not worry about quality, DF(Mexico city) has the power of numbers...Literally foreigners and Mexicans from all over, all walks of life. Just approach who you want, bitch shields are relatively low. I recommend opening in English than transitioning over to Spanish!
