I like the effort of being well dressed, but, boys just to remind you, perfum matters. And you have no idea.
Don't save your money on this. Don't buy a watch. But have a quality perfum.
Great call. You gotta smell good.
perfum = cologne
It definitely helps to smell good, although if you overdo it, it will be seen as try-hard.
Scent should be a hint, not an accessory.
And parfum/perfume is not cologne. There are different types of perfume depending on the concentration of aromatic compounds in it. Here´s the list from wikipedia:
- Perfume extract : 15-40% (IFRA: typical 20%) aromatic compounds
- Eau de Parfum, Parfum de Toilette : 10-20% (typical ~15%) aromatic compounds. Sometimes listed as "eau de perfume" or "millésime".
- Eau de Toilette : 5-15% (typical ~10%) aromatic compounds
- Eau de Cologne : Chypre citrus type perfumes with 3-8% (typical ~5%) aromatic compounds
- Splash and After shave: 1-3% aromatic compounds
Most women already know this but I think it´s also important for guys to get a clue so you know what you´re buying or using.

I used to wear a lot more when I was younger (like in high school), but when I got to college I started opting more for the clean/neutral smell and only sometimes would I wear cologne lightly. A good way to do this is instead of spraying it directly on your skin, spray it into the air in front of you and walk into the mist.
I´ve also tried those organic oils you find in hippie/bohemian street fairs, like musk oil and stuff. These are pretty concentrated, so I just dab lightly here & there.
