Not possible for the career I'm in, but yes in a heartbeat I would.

I think a better question...how hard is it to game women online in LA? Provided they find you attractive.

Also, given it's a liberated culture...maybe letting them know up front isn't as big a deal.

You read some dating profiles and women basically want you to take them to the most expensive restaurant and make it clear you aren't getting any on the first date. The whole 6's behaving like 10's theory comes into play.

In LA, a true 6 or 7 knows her place. How does this affect the overall state of affairs?

I find it very easy as long as you get them out to meet you. Just realize you'll barely ever get anything above a 7 on these online sites. Lots of 6-7s and if you wanted to drop your standards to below 6, you could probably have sex every night of the week.

LA and NYC are often compared and debated as equals.

They are not.

LA has better weather and beaches.

Other than that, NYC defeats LA in every single other category.

And trust me, after years on the West Coast, you realize that the East Coast is far better situated geographically for International Travel.

Truth. It would be fantastic to be that much closer to South America and Europe. And my guess is that NYC has more international girls too vs. LA.

NYC is a really city, LA is an overgrown suburb.

Re: SF.

You don't like "entitled American bitches"? There's a hostel right near Market street. Foreign tourist girls everywhere.

Ruby Skye after 2 a.m. almost always has foreign talent.

Crissy Field on a Sunday afternoon is loaded with attractive, fit women.

Delores Park is a day game paradise.

Coffee shops everywhere.

Strip club game is in full effect.

Plus, guys in SF have no game.

Learn to run game in a shark tank like LA, and SF feels like vacation.

SF is awesome.

That's the most beta blog ever.

Plenty of local talent. Cute girls in the Marina, lots of Latinas.

Lots of tourists come through the city, especially around the holidays.

Everytime I go to SF, I tell whomever I am with how much more "real" the girls there versus LA. Its pretty good, you can see there's real substance there, whilst in LA, its much more status and looks centered.

And I loved the Marina district.

but then again, i'm on vacation so it may be different day to day.

Don't think I would live in SF though, I could see myself getting sick of it and missing LA.

The OP got banned but I'll share my LA experiences as a guy living on his own in a studio apt, making decent change (without getting too detailed, also trying to fix my lifestyle situation), no car, and running game.

Without a car, you better be living in a nice, happening neighborhood that has a lot of places that you can go to for fun--ideally within walking distance. That means shops, landmarks, theatres, bars, clubs, coffee/tea shops places where people and especially women congregate. Why's this important? There's several reasons, but one of the major ones is the travel time/distance and the associated gas cost. Less travel time and distance means more time and intimacy with your girl, and you better believe your location is a major deciding factor (aside from your "tight game") if the girl should come over and hang out with you. On your part, it'll be a lot of work trying to figure out what good places are near that don't take too many bus/train stops and close late enough so you can catch that late bus. I've done it and it ain't pleasant riding a crowded bus on your way to a date/event all swagged up, showered, nice clothes on and you got homeless bum/sweaty laborer (not looking down on laborers now) rubbing next to you or the long wait for the bus ride home on the sketchy street on a cold, lonely night.

It's frustrating, and I echo what other LA residents have said here, that the flake factor is high because of the lay of the land and many things happening that pull people in all sorts of directions...especially pretty girls. All sorts of guys on them with all sorts of offers. If you have a plan then they have a better idea of deciding (even though I wouldn't keep my hopes up), still you set yourself apart from other guys by taking the lead. That means you better have a place in mind to take her or an activity because too much dilly-dallying on your part will also up the flake factor.

But what if, despite all the advice on this forum, that you somehow ended up in a "bad neighborhood"?

I'm a believer of turning "lemons to lemonade" and being conscious of your environment that eventually you'll find aspects of it that you might find beautiful or use to your advantage. I'm in such a situation...my LA neighborhood isn't crawling with cute, white, blondies (my favorite btw) but I see local beauties who turn me on and were pleasantly surprised that I'm in their 'hood. I go to the local coffee shops, stores, and eateries and interact with the people, who knows what connections could be made or things could happen.

LA is what you make of it gaming-wise, perhaps this principle applies to all places in the world, but location, location, location is still king in LA when it comes to getting results from running game.

If anybody lives in the mid-Wilshire area, have you been to The Varsity?

http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-varsity-spor...os-angeles

It's something of a sports lounge. I was supposed to be meeting a friend there last night but we had a last minute change in plan. So I didn't actually go in, but every chic I saw going in and out was between a 7-9. I shit you not. There were chics that looked like Lakers cheerleaders. Only thing is the crowd looked kinda cliquish, but any of you in that area may want to check it out on a weekend night and do some reconnaissance. I hear they have a good happy hour too.

I've been going out to different hipster and alternative bars now, with decent to good talent, and the male competition is pretty weak. Harvard and Stone, Villain's Tavern, La Descarga... Not saying these venues are the greatest for macking per se - that depends on the night I'd bet - but the competition was weak. The truth is the guys who are your competition, 90% of the time, would not be caught dead in certain hipster or alternative joints. Most guys are choosing where to go based on where their friends and social set go. Some joints draw lots of guys with good game, some with few. Douchier 'see and be seen' joints definitely have more potent male competition.

IMO, weak competition and 40% girls is manageable. But 30% girls even with weak competition gets to be challenging.

^^^ I went to Villian's Tavern last year. Interesting spot. I don't think you could possibly get more hipster than that place. Not that I mind hipster spots. That was just the most hipsterish hipster joint I've ever been in outside of some of spots in the Mission in San Fran.

Have you guys noticed that beards are becoming more prevalent these days? I've noticed it more when I go out, my friends now rock beards, and overall response I observe from girls is that they actually like the beards. Maybe it's the influx of the hipster scene, but I'm just wondering if you have notice the same in and around LA.

La Descarga is a solid venue. Girls freak out on dates when they haven't been there before.

I notice the competition is weak downtown as well. The only place I feel competition is on the Westside.

I started growing out some stash and goatee a couple years ago, going for the ethan hawke look a little. Very positive response. As far as the hardcore hipster bushy beard look you guys might be referring to, I never see those dudes with hot girls.

Facial hair and hipsterness go hand in hand. It's cool for hipster/indie guys to have beards now (and has been for a while actually, this is old news). On this side of the ocean, people are getting more and more "indie" by the day as well.Anyway, my take on the beards is that it balances out their effeminate dress sense.

I grew up in San Diego, but went to college in Los Angeles and stayed for a few years after. This was all in the 90's (college and the years after). I also have a ton a relatives that live all over the Southland, so even though I grew up in SD, I spent plenty of my youth in LA.

I also lived in St. Louis (3 years), Minneapolis (1 year) and Chicago (1 year), so I'll relate some things back to what it was like for me when I was in the midwest.

My first piece of advice is be yourself and don't try and change into something that is going to take to much work to pull off. I've met so many people that moved from the midwest or south or wherever and they think they have to buy into every cliche. The cliched behavior is a really small group of people and they have a tendency to be from somewhere else. It's 80% girls who do this, but I've seen dudes fall prey to it too.

Do you know where you will be working? Because it will be crucial into plotting out the neighborhoods you want to target. And realize that their are neighborhoods within larger neighborhoods that are perfectly useful and can be affordable.

$800 pretty much means you will need a roommate. But there are spots where you can make it work on your own -- especially if you can bump up to 850 or 875.

Hollywood has changed for the worse (to me) since it's second heyday in the mid 90's. There were so many good dive bars and hot spots that were overtaken by douchebags. Especially after Swingers. The decline escalated when Hollywood and Highland was developed. Still the older buildings in the area have reasonable rents.

I'll skip over college living, because that was in dorms or packed three to a room, because I had zilch dollars.

One area I lived in was East Hollywood/Los Feliz, specifically Thai Town, but some people call it Little Armenia, too. Anyway, it's apartments are an older stock, but there are lots of them and they are affordable. My old building had 16 units and over half were single chicks. At the end of my block to the south was a strip club, a thai food place that stayed open until 6 a.m. and a few bars. A few blocks west, on Franklin, was an area with two bars, a coffee house, record store etc. A few blocks east was Vermont Ave. which has a ton of restaurants and bars. A block over from there was Hillhurst -- which was the same as Vermont. At my favorite watering hole on Vermont, it seemed like every chick was the quality of those early 20-year olds on CW shows.

These places are all walkable or a small fare cab ride. There are major bus routes along Franklin (just north) and Hollywood Blvd. (just south).

If you're into spotting celebs, Los Feliz is filled with them. I used to see anyone from Athony Edwards to Forrest Whitaker to Madonna. But after two visits to the Coffee Bean on Hillhurst, I realized Lauren Graham (the mom from Gilmore Girls) would go there frequently. She was at her hottest then. If I was Roosh I would have approached. Haha.

Also, the main core of Hollywood is only about a mile or so west. Downtown is about 6 to 7 miles and Silverlake is about 3 miles. All easy bus rides or cab rides. The subway stop is about a mile south to go into downtown.

If you are into exotic women, and who isn't, this area was filled with hot Thai women. Some speak very little english, but I got a bang from a woman who lived in the neighborhood and worked for Thai Airways. There are also numerous Hungarians, Russians and Armenians. Armenian girls can be extremely hot, but most are not.

Like I said earlier my apt. bldg had a several single girls. I didn't run any game on them, because it almost felt like a work situation (don't shit where you eat). But they were all at least 6s and one was a 9, being cool to them got me access to all of their friends. They were from all over too. England, New Zealand, Minnesota, Colorado, Massachusetts, Upstate NY and Florida.

In all there are like 12 similar buildings on both sides of the street and for blocks and blocks in either direction.

If you are into hiking (I'm not. I wish I was, sluts love to hike). Griffith Park is just north which is a wilderness with 4,000-foot mountains in the middle of the city. Beachwood Canyon is also about a mile away.

There is some gang activity south of Hollywood Blvd. And you will see some Armenian Power gang members in the neighborhood, but you will be invisible to them. I always found, you don't mess with them they won't care about you.

I'm writing too much here, so I 'll start to condense.

ANother favorite neighborhood I lived was Atwater Village. It's wedged in between the LA River and Glendale. It's an older blue collar neighborhood with plenty of amenities (bars, restauarants, coffee houses, etc.). It's a couple of miles east of the first neighborhood I wrote about. It feels more isoalted from the city for some reason, but being close to Glendale you have all that suburban stuff if you need it (malls, big box stores etc.).

There wasn't as many singles, but I've heard (since it's afforable) that it is becoming more of a singles area.

I also lived in Harvard Heights which is really affordable. It's on the south end of Koreatown and really close to downtown. I lived in an old 15-story apt. bldg. There were some cute girls there, too, but some sketchy lifers who have been there when it was rent controlled and never left. If you want to know what it looks like, the building they used to show that Seinfeld lived in was actually a building in Harvard Heights.
The area is rough around the edges, but I absolutely loved Koreatown. It's a 24-hour neighborhood with a lot of activity with shit everywhere. It's definitely Korean, so if that's not your thing you might not like it. Bar time in CA is 2 a.m., but there were so many places in Koreatown that outright ignored that law it was easy to find a place to go late night. They were subject to being shutdown, but when they were two more would pop up.

Korean women are my favorite asians, but like many asians they are very insular and tough to crack. There are also numerous upscale message places where you can get a massage and happy ending from a hot Korean chick for minimal expense. They also have Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Filipina and other ethnicities working in them. On those nights when we didn't close, it was sometimes cool to roll in at 3 a.m. -- look at the board who was working, pick the hottest -- and be taken care of. Eun Mi was my favorite. She was maybe 19 and adorable as hell.

Me: "Take off your top while you work your magic."

Her: (giggle) "oohhh no. I geet in much trouble. (giggle)

Me: C'mon. It's late. No one will check.

Her: (giggle) "oooh. (giggle). No. (giggle) ok. This time I do it. I take off."

Me: "You're a bad, bad girl."

I also lived in Studio City and Larchmont. Those are more pricey, but nice. Live as close as possible to Ventura Blvd if you choose Studio City or anywhere in the valley.

After living in the midwest for 5 years, it is much, much, much easier to pull there, even in Chicago, than SoCal. St. Louis was the weakest of the three in terms of talent, but some 9s in StL let me sample the menu. If those same girls had grown up in SoCal, they would have rather shit on me than even let me peek at the goods.

Anyway, this got too long, but I hope it helps. I know a little something about most areas in SoCal just contact me if you need any help.

Oh yeah and you know those days people go apeshit over in the Midwest? That's what the weather is like about 90% of the time.

Larchmont is simple one of the hidden jewels of LA!

This is not game related but for those of you in LA, I had an amazing meal last night at a place called Animal in West Hollywood. Very unique food with the theme based on the name of the restaurant. Seriously unbelievable - my favorite dishes were veal brains, pig tail "buffalo" style and tamarind octopus. Just a tip for anyone that may visit, this is some damn good food. Hard to get reservations, fyi. Don't plan on just showing up. But it is quite the experience and the quality is top notch.

I've done some LA trolling on POF for the past week with a good looking guy showing off his 6 pack. LA girls SEEM somewhat cool (for girls), have all kinds of interests and there's lots of sexy MILF. I've never seen so many good looking rocker chicks into old school punk bands and underground music like I am (could this be my niche when I go there?). They flake real bad like everyone else has said. I was getting lots of numbers acting like I was in the city and most of them just stopped texting and talking to me. I didn't try to keep pursuing them though. This is with a good looking, tall white dude jock. I'm guessing just your looks won't cut it unless you know where to exploit it. I definitely see how you would need to find your "fishbowl" and abuse the hell out of it.

There wasn't as many girls with kids as in Houston but still a whole lot. The white girls who think "white is right" seems to be about the same as Houston POF. Everything else is the same. Nasty attitudes, princess complexes, cows, etc. Same shit, different city. White girls look better in LA. Black and Hispanic are better in Houston. The Asian chicks look like someone ran over their face in LA.

I would try to get a LA veteran to help you figure out what your fishbowl is and take it from there. I can't wait to go out there and step up to the plate.

I beg to differ about asian girls here...but I've never picked up an asian girl online. We have a huge diversity here with every country represented. I've banged hot Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipina, and Korean girls here. Probably not on the same level as what I could find from their home countries, but nothing to scoff at either, and certainly not a single one looking like they were ran over.
