okcupid: the competition

I made an okc troll at the beginning of the month. I wanted to get a feel of the competition on that website and wasn't able to find any pastas, so here you guys go. It should be easy for anyone to create such a troll and get an idea of what the competition in your area is like. Here is what I did:

I picked off some photos from the internet. Tumblr is a good resource for this. My troll was a solid 8, four photographs. She goes to a big ten school and I answered twenty questions on the first day, and one per day for the next two weeks.

I copypasted profile paragraphs I found acceptable from girls in a different major city to make her profile.

Here are the messages I received.

If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.

Nice.

Ugh- "hey beautiful.. blah"

None of those messages stand out to me. There was a post about online game in EE today..
my sense is the first thing a girl is going to do when she checks her inbox is to scroll through all the thumbnails of profile pics. She'll only actually read the message if she's attracted to the photo.

Wow, there's a lot of losers on there. Most of these guys are clueless. So many of these messages really have no leads for her to follow in replying to them, it really just smacks of poor conversational skills.

Also, what's this shit with them saying their names? I've done a bit of OKCupid, and I never pull that shit in a first message, just seems lame and unexciting.

Seriously, how hard is it just to ask them something about themselves in an intelligent and fun way? Chicks love talking about themselves. It's not rocket science.

It is hard, because most girls' profiles are boring and uninteresting as hell.

Seriously guys, you're flattering yourself calling fake profiles merely trolling, it's just plain sad. The time put to this nonsense could be used actually pursuing women.

^^^This.

I used to do online game way back. I can say that 95% of women's profiles are snooze-worthy. They all say the same thing, "I love to laugh!!! I work hard and play harder!! I like a guy who looks as good in jeans as he does dressed up! I like sushi! I like Dave Matthews! Blah blah...." After awhile I just got sick of reading women's boring profiles and looking for the diamond in the rough.

Most of them think it's enough just to put up a few "hot" photos they took on their camera phone in the bathroom(the "myspace shot" as it was called) or the standard girls night out photos with her and her girlfriends in the club. Virtually none of them could write a profile that provoked any intrigue. If you couldn't see their photo and could only rely on text itself, I'd have responded to pretty much none of them. So I don't blame guys for mostly responding to generic profiles with generic replies. The more personality she puts into her profile, the higher the quality of responses she'll get. But as we know, girls don't have to do that. They can just put a couple mediocre pics, write the standard girl's template and still get flooded with replies.

For guys, it just comes down to having good pics and good stats. If you're attractive and have good stats on your profile and don't come across as a complete beta retard, I think you'll do okay with online game. But just remember that dating sites might as well be male brothels and half the women on there are just looking for validation.

Look at the pictures..I pulled one off that had nothing by asking her if she always kept a box of cereal next to her bed. I told her I did as well and started talking about fruity pebbles.

Show me a pic and I will open.

Evening,

My name is James and I am currently in the C/U area earning my MBA. I am originally from X and an alumn of X. I am a fairly serious person with a light side and taste for new experiences. I am seeking new friends and seeing where life progresses from there.

If you had the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world (no restrictions on resources, time, responsibilities, etc.), where would you go and why?

Not true. I'm running an experiment right now where my profile lacks a photo. I have an opener that creates curiosity and piques their interest in wanting to chat. Response rate is insanely good.

How good looking was the average guy? An 8+ dude probably doesn't have to say much more than "hey beautiful".

This is a good question. None of the guys with any physique (judging just from the thumbnail) wrote more than one sentence.

There was one who looked like a male model..."hey sexy"

Can you give us a sense of the opener?

I cringed reading some of those messages.

The competition on okcupid presents two problems:

1.) Beta males inflating the egos of chicks that are often 6's at best.

2.) 4's, 5's and 6's being hounded by so many losers that your message could easily get lost in the shuffle.

I haven't logged on in a while.

It's interesting because I wonder how much of our game is necessary due to the fuck-ups of other men. I'd be curious to know how things would be if all men played by our rules.

While a vast majority of male messages and profiles are unattractive garbage, I have not had much success even with much better messages/profiles. Most of the girls there are simply not there to fuck or even go out on a date, they've just signed up to attention whore. I often feel that, with rare exceptions, it's a waste of time and effort.

I did this last summer to throw these bloodhounds of the trail (learned the tip from this forum). It worked I was getting responses back from broads but the quality was crap. The 3 girls I thought we're bangin' didn't bite of course. I was even more of an asshole and replied to some of the dudes when I was bored. I let them off nicely tho but I strait up cringed at a lot of the messages as well, some dudes were strait up tryna profess love and shit it was sad. I don't like online game because its seems unless you got a science down way more work then trying your luck out in the field.

This does a good job of proving that 99% of the "competition" out there sends horrible messages. Get some good pictures, a solid profile, and send great openers and you are already in the top 1%.

Is there a chance the 99% may try to occupy?
