Giovonny, hold on now! Stockton was 6'1, not 5'10! Let's not lionize him too much! But you are right, he couldn't have been getting those numbers if he were shyt.

Gio, I'll be in the Bay Area next week (tues-wed). I've got a good part of Tuesday to kill and would love nothing more than to play a little 1 on 1 and then go sarging later on.

No, I met him last year in Vegas at the WCC Final. He is my size, 5'10. We looked eye to eye. He is alot smaller then you think.

Yes, they often list themselves shorter or taller then they actually are. People who have seen or met him will confirm this. He is not even 6 feet tall.

I listed myself at 6 feet but i'm not. It's very common. 6'10 guys list themselves as 7 footers.

Shaq used to weigh 320 pounds but he listed himself at 280. They are protecting their image and public persona. And, they know scouts, gm's and owners look at those numbers. If you list yourself at 5'10, everyone will say you are too small before they have ever seen you play. Garnett used to list himself at 6'11 because he didn't want to be seen as a 7 footer. He wanted to appear as more athletic and mobile and listing himself below 7 feet is what he did.

Its just like what we do in our online profiles right!

No. I'm done. Just girls and money now! I went hard for a long time. The passion is gone. I ref some high school and aau games now.

What type of exercises do you recommend for strengthening the knee? Or maybe a good knee brace to wear that doesn't feel clunky like a Patrick Ewing special?

Also, what do you recommend for improving the vert (hops)?

Moma,
It sounds like your problem might be from inadequate strength in your hamstrings/glutes/quads. If you strengthen these three muscle groups it will take stress off of your knee and all of its ligaments. Also as Gio said, stretching is key. This will not only help with your knee issues but as well with your vertical. Think of your muscles as rubberbands...more elasticity results in greater speed and power.
As far as increasing your vert...lift EXPLOSIVELY. I was never able to dunk until I started squatting. I just told one of my friends this little secret and after about a month of squatting he is able to get up and dunk. Squat both for power (heavy weight/low reps) and speed/explosiveness (light weight, high reps, fast lifts). One legged squats will help you if you are a one footed jumper. Front squats will strengthen your core to give you an extra inch or two.

Bulls just did it again without Rose due to depth. Watson, Gibson, Asik were huge this game. Last time it was JL3. Someone always steps up for them. Depth will carry these guys for a deep playoff run.

A champion team will always beat a team of champions. Too many chiefs, not enough indians with the heat.

Ya, the Bulls have a great all around team. Most of their bench guys could be starters. I didn't know they were so deep. What a game! Back and forth the whole way and in the end, Lebron and Wade were just, well, Lebron and Wade...........but...........Lebron missed a free throw that would have ended it! Another choke job!

Big shot by Watson to tie it!

That is gonna be a heck of series if they meet in the playoffs.

Not always, the Heat beat the Bulls 4-1 in the playoffs lat year. The problem with the Heat is not that they have two many "chiefs", they only have 2 and they all know that, the problem is that their "indians" are just not that good.

Will get to watch tonight. Bulls and Heat go at it. Noah held Bosh to 3-15 shooting last game. He'll have to do the same thing tonight and their future matchups.

What did you make of Bosh last night?

Was he getting consistent touches? Where they playing an in and out game? Bosh as the first option and play around him? Remember that Wade and Lebron play a running guard game. Bosh is a power forward, he doesn't play that Kevin Durant get the ball and take fools off of the dribble type of thing.

Bosh wasnt doing much work inside the paint. He hit a nice jump hook early in the 1st quarter, but most of his other points came on jumpshots. He got inside the paint where his man lost him on defense with James lulling defenders to sleep. He was hitting his J's early, but for most of the 2nd half James was playing point and Wade was doing his damage off the ball. I can't stand Wade even though we share similar roots in Chicago, but he hit some incredibly difficult shots in the 4th quarter.

Bosh was making his mid range jumper. He didn't get many touches in the paint. He is a decent post up player if he can get low position on the block but they didn't really try to post him up. They gave it to him at 18 feet and let him face up. He is kind of like Pau Gasol in the sense that he is a finesse big man and not a power big man. He is definitely skilled and can make shots. They are gonna need him to play well if they are gonna make it back to the finals. He is the third best player on that team.

I was really impressed with the Bulls team play on both ends. Great coaching, great attitude, and great effort by everybody on that Chicago bench. Madison Street was rocking!

Chicago has a better team but Miami has the best player..

Playoffs are gonna be fun.

Spurs got a big revenge win over Memphis.

Rose definitely looked rusty. As I said before it will be good for him to get the first round in before facing some of the contenders in the east.

A first round series for the Bulls should go 5 games or less. They need as much rest as possible for the guys who are coming back from injury.

Anyone catch the OKC/Lakers game today? Turned out to be a great game in which LA won in double overtime. The Lakers came back from a huge deficit in the fourth. Kobe was Kobe. Durant shot 11-34 while Westbrook was 3-22....THREE FOR TWENTY-TWO!!!!

unbelievable game though.

the thunder really missed james harden in the 2nd half and overtime. beyond him, they dont have many scoring options off the bench. collison is primarily there to defend and rebound. i think the same can be said for nazr. cook is a shooter, and a very streaky one at that. derek fisher can't create his own shot either. harden is the only guy on that team not named durant or westbrook that can create shots for himself.

OKC should have won the game for Harden. They shot poorly and let LA get back into it. I wonder if World Peace will get suspended? I would suspend him for the rest of the year for that elbow. That was unacceptable and dangerous.

Westbrook IS Marbury Jr, he's got talent, but as a team-player he sucks, in fact I'd rather have Timmy from South Park on my team trying to win a basketball game, than that selfish prick Westbrook. OKC will NEVER win a title with Westbrook on that team, I digress though...

As for Ron Artest, he deserves at least a 15 game suspension, and if Harden really did get a concussion from that elbow, with Artest's history, he'll probably get 20+ games. Deservedly so, though.

Westbrook is a dynamite talent, but definitely selfish. It was evident they needed a third scorer that can create shots of his own, and with Harden out Westbrook had to take ill-advised shots. Durant struggled as well, and I'm surprised Devin Ebanks gave him that much trouble. I would think with someone as inexperienced as Ebanks in prime time that Durant would be able to take over.

I'm confident in the Thunder out of the west though. They and San Antonio are among the most complete teams.

Anyone wanna bet Artest watched the Jones/Evans fight? He must have been dreaming he was Jones when he went to sleep that night and it carried over into the game.

artest is a punk and always will be no matter what he changes his name to. i lost all respect for him after that fight in detroit.

the NBA should come down hard on him and suspend him from any post season games the lakers play. that could have seriously hurt harden more than it already did.
