Durant is ice cold. What a finish

Durant is a pure scorer. He always finds a way to put the ball in the hoop. It is going to be a great series.

With the way Terry, Kidd and Dirk put it in today you can tell the Mavs are not to be taken lightly.

Durant is so much fun to watch. Smooth game. Here is a shot I got of him when I went to watch him earlier this season.

Nice^^

The guy has the most unique frame and longest arms I have ever seen. You can't defend that.

Boston looked terrible to start the game but made it competitive...bonehead play from Rondo tonight and it will really hurt them if he catches a suspension. They need Ray Allen badly!!!
Reply

NBA playoffs

boston is in serious trouble. Rondo is the engine that makes them go, especially without ray. he's got a one game suspension to serve and that will mean boston will go down 0-2.

There is one team that a lot of people are forgetting about but will be among the top 2 or 3 for the title and that is the uber experienced and ever talented and hungry Spurs...I'm not a betting man but if I were, I'd put my money on them to win it all than the overrated circus aka Miami...

Memphis really blew that game and I put some blame on the coaching for allowing the team to take wild shots and make numerous fundamental mistakes. The team settled for long jump shots instead of being strategic and taking high percentage shots in the 4th quarter.

what a comeback by the clippers. and meltdown by the grizz. this is gonna be a fun series to watch either way. too bad we cant get a lakers clippers 2nd round matchup!

And the biggest choke of the NBA for the 2011/2012 season goes to .........drumroll........The Memphis Grizzlies

That is the most pathetic way for that team to lose. Blow a 27 point lead at home with a quarter and 1 minute to go.

Lakers/Clippers WCF would be fun though. The Clippers athleticism and Chris Paul could give Parker and the Spurs fits, and I just hate the fucking Thunder (except Ibaka, Harden and Durant, how can you dislike those guys?)... ok so mainly I just hate their douche bag owner and Westbrook aka Marbury 2.0, but anyway, I hope the Thunder lose!

you think clay bennett is a douchebag? that surprises me because everyone else in that organization is so down to earth, including sam presti, scott brooks, durant, and even westbrook.

This has been a crazy playoffs so far and we are only two games in...D-Rose tears his ACL on the no. 1 team in the east, Artest suspended through first round because of a regular season move, Rondo suspended one game when his team DESPERATELY needs him, and now Amare punches a fire extenguisher and could potentially miss games.

I just read that about Amare; crazy. What is it with the new breed of NBA players? It seems none of them can contain their emotions and keep a cool head any more. There are not many humble characters left in the game these days.

Even my man Dirk was throwing elbows against OKC today which you never see as he is always cool as a cucumber.

Amare Stoudemire was a bonehead, and deserves to get chastised by the media and fans for hitting the glass.

The Knicks didn't really have a chance, would have loved to see them play with Jeremy Lin.

I don't think Lin would make a huge difference on the court for them. The Heat blitzed him hard any time they set a screen on the ball and he was out of his element.

Lots of boneheaded moves this playoffs (Rondo, Amare) and right before (Artest).

There are 30 teams in the NBA, each with about 12 players, that's about 360 players total.

3 of those guys did something stupid. That less then 1% of the players in the league!

They don't represent the entire league! They are less then 1%! They are a small minority!

Most of these guys are hard working, dedicated, professionals. How do you think they became the best in the world at their profession?!?

What do you do for a living? I'm sure I could find 1% of the guys in your profession that have done some stupid stuff. That doesn't mean the whole profession if full of idiots. That means that maybe 1% of them are idiots.

You are letting Artest, Rando, and Stoudamire cloud your judgement for the entire league. Why don't you take into account their teammates who are great guys? Guys like Mike Bibby, Tyson Chandler, Landry Fields, Jared Jeffries, Jeremy Lin, Steve Novak, Iman Shumpert, Ray Allen, Avery Bradley, Brandon Bass, Kevin Garnett, Ryan Hollins, Sasha Pavlocik, Paul Pierce, Mikeal Pitrius, Pau Gasol, Steve Blake,Ramon Sessions, Troy Murphy.

All of these guys are humble, hard working guys. And I haven't even mentioned the best 1%, guys like Jason Kidd, Derek Fisher, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Kevin Love, Dirk, Tim Duncan, Manu, Tony Parker, Dwayne Wade, Shane Battier, CJ Watson, Luol Deng, Kyle Korver.

90% of the guys in the league are great guys.

You are allowing the 1% at the bottom effect your perspective of the other 99%

i agree that there is only a small percent of players that will repeatedly do boneheaded things like this. most of them are pretty grounded, especially those with solid upbringings.

i think the stupid plays have just been magnified this playoffs, as they are important games for every team in contention. last year andrew bynum came under a lot of fire for his dirty play on jj barea, and this year hes an all star and an integral part of the lakers, but he's still a pretty humble guy.

there are only a few serious douchebags in the league that are actually jerks on and off the court (lebron, KG), but most everyone including the guys gio mentioned are stand up guys. i've been lucky enough to interact with many of them and have nothing but good things to say.

that being said, it has been a crazy first week of the playoffs so far.

Westbrook aka Marbury 2.0

I hope this is not true. He does shoot a little too much and take some tough shots but they were saying last night on tv that the coach encourages him to be aggressive and look to score. I'm not sure if its the coaches fault or his fault? They only have 3 scorers on that team (Durant, Westbrook, Harden) and they need each of them to score. Personally, I think they should take the ball out of Westbrooks hands and let Harden be the decision maker a little more.

But, I will say that Westbrook plays harder then Marbury ever did. Especially, on defense. He has a much better attitude then Marbury ever did, and he is loved by his coaches and teammates much more then Marbury ever was.

Did you know that Westbrook and Durant are best friends? If Westbrook was a selfish, lazy. loser, Durant would ask for him to be traded. The fact that they are best friends says alot.

Also, the Thunder recently gave him a 5 year contract. This is one of the best front offices in the business, if they thought he was a selfish, lazy, loser, they would not have signed him to a long term deal. This says alot also.

And, his coaches and teammates seem to love him. I don't think he has had any off the court issues at all. Marbury was cancerous to a few of his teams and basically got himself banned from the league.

Westbrook has lead his team to the western conference finals last year and a 47-19 record this year. He must be doing something right. Marbury never won a playoff series. Westbrook has already accomplished alot more then Marbury.

He was big last night with Durant going 5-17 from the field, Westbrook carried them with 29.

But, time will tell, we'll see what happens. Westbrook is a scorer playing point guard, which is dangerous.

I'm curious, why exactly do you not like him?

I hope I am too pessimistic writing the Knicks' obituary but
speaking as a Knicks fan who lived through the Ewing era, it seems like this crazy NBA season will once again end in disappointment. Even if they win game or two to get this series competitive again, I wont feel that this franchise is truly "back" until they win a 1st round series. But I am hopeful for this team's future. There is definite talent on this squad (Shumpert, Lin, Chandler, Fields, Stat, Melo, Novak) and Woodson's defense first style is what will make this team a true playoff contender rather than D'Antoni's open floor game where defense is nowhere to be found.

Chicago absolutely smacked in the second half by Philly today. They have lost home court advantage and with no Rose they could be first round exits.

Boston grabbed the home court advantage over Atlanta. With Rondo back and home court for games 3 & 4 they will be tough to roll now.

the bulls in the 2nd half looked so emotionally wrecked by not having rose there. they played without any fire and passion they normally play with and got outworked and outhustled.

philly also shot the lights out. i doubt that happens again in the series.
