NBA playoffs

Great finish to that Laker game, Kobe played shitty the whole game but was amazing down the stretch, that one legged running 3 pointer was incredible!

Artest lost his cool and will obviously get suspended.

Not sure why you guys are calling Westbrook "selfish"? He is the #2 scorer on that team and with Harden out and Durant struggling, he had to take more shots, I thought his shot selection was poor and he definitely had a bad shooting night but that doesn't mean he is selfish. He competed hard defensively, he had 10 assists, he made 6 big free throws in a row at the end of regulation, he never quit on his teammates. I didn't see anything selfish in his performance, I did see bad shooting and bad shot selection, but, that is different then "selfish". Thunder coach Scott Brooks is one of the most old school, hard nosed guys in the league. If Westbrok was truly a selfish person/player, the Thunder would have got rid of him a long time ago. Their GM Sam Presti is one of the best in the NBA at identifying "winners" and "losers". I believe that if Westbrook was really selfish, Presti would have not awarded him a lng term contract. But, Coach Brooks, GM Presti, and best friends Durant and Harden are all supportive of Westbrook. Those are the guys that would know best. They say he is a great kid and a great teammate. I think you guys are mistaking poor play for poor attitude.

Remember that the final 2 teams in the West last year were the Mavs and the Thunder. You can't make it that far with a selfish point guard.

Perhaps selfish is the wrong way to describe him, but his shot selection is horrible at times.

What's interesting to me is that the Thunder started pretty well in 1st half and midway through the 2nd quarter.

Sam Presti is one of my heros, and we have been communicating frequently of late. For those of you who don't know his path to fame, it's truly inspirational. A young GM of a successful franchise that started in the film room.

A good number of head coaches today started in the film room as well. Some names that come to mind are Erik Spoelstra, Frank Vogel, and Kaleb Canneles (interim head coach of the Blazers)

His shot selection was/is terrible!!!

But, is he taking those bad shots because he is selfish and wants all the glory for himself???

Or, is he taking those bad shots because he is a young, inexperienced yet supremely confident player who still needs to learn the finer points of the game???

That is the question Sam Presti has to ask himself. They seem to love Westbrook in OKC so I tend to think its the 2nd option. Plus, I trust the judgement of Presti and Coach Brooks. Remember, that Durant was struggling and Harden was out when he was taking most of those shots.

That being said, I don't particularly like Westbrooks offensive game. He is more of scorer then a passer/set up man. My favorite point guards are Chris Paul and Derron Williams. I like the old fashined "pure" points. But, my point is that bad shot selection does not always equal "selfish".

To me, a better indicator of selfishness is not playing hard on defense, partying too much and not keeping your body in shape, being a bad teammate, not practicing hard, having a bad attitude. I don't Westbrook is guilty of any of these things. He is only guilty of not knowing what a great shot is. Again, that is not necessarily selfishness.

I'm glad this regular season is coming to an end. Playoff basketball will be so much more fun to watch when the teams like Charlotte and Sacramento are out of it.

Here we go! Now the real season begins!

I'm looking forward to Bulls-Heat out East.

The West is really up for grabs.

I say it will be a Heat-Thunder finals.

But, In my heart, I'm rooting for the Spurs!!!!

Moma? What do you think?

potential 2nd round matchups i would like to see are lakers-thunder and heat-pacers.

indy could give miami some trouble with their depth and physicality.

Knicks-Heat could be a good first round series as well.

still not sleeping on indy either. they'll cruise past the magic and then give miami a 6 or 7 game series IMO.

1st round picks:
East - Bulls in 4, Heat in 5, Pacers in 6, Celtics in 7
West - Spurs in 5, Thunder in 7, Lakers in 5, Grizzlies in 7

Picking all chalk, I know, but outside of Dallas I don't see any underdogs having much of a shot.

Philly has no offense. Isolations the whole game. Chicago's D is nasty. Rose went down though. Hopefully it's not too serious.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

Rose is gone for minimum 6 months. Torn ACL. Chicago done well without him but I think it will be a bridge too far without him to win the NBA title.

That really sucks. Well enjoy your free pass to the finals Miami. Also change my Chicago pick to Bulls in 6 instead of 4.

350,

They are still talking about you out here! That dude with the dreads that you were going against is gonna get a D1 scholarship, but he couldn't guard the "southside bank shot"!!!

Ya, this really helps Miami. They will be alot fresher and rested in the finals without having to get by Chicago.

Fuck, this really hurts the Western conference team who makes the finals. But, its still early, anything can happen, injuries are also a factor.

Great game in Indianapolis right now!

Drose doesn't have enough help. Lakers don't have enough firepower. Duncan and Ginobili are too old.

Lol. Look at the Bulls reord without D rose. He has plenty of help, not to mention the bench mob. This isn't 2008 where they always depended on him. It sucks that he got hurt thoough [Image: confused.gif]

do you guys still think the bulls get past the 2nd round without rose? i think they can beat both boston and atlanta but it will be longer series and they will get worn down by they time they get to the ECF.

Gio,

it was an honor playing with you and those guys. Most fun I've had playing basketball in a while. We should do it again this summer in Vegas. Get ready for summer league ball! My buddy Jimmy Butler will most likely be there.

We'll see what happens. They did play well without him in the regular season.

Didn't they lose 4-1 to the Heat last year in the playoffs? (With him). Thats why I say DRose doesn't have enough help.

They are better this year, but, without D-Rose, the Heat might sweep them, if they even get there. They should beat the 76ers but then they will face either Boston or Atlanta. Then it will get interesting.

350,

Boston or Atlanta would be a tough series that could possibly go 7. What sucks is that unless Lebron or Wade gets hurt, you guys are definitely not getting passed Miami. Championships can be won or lost on 1 injury.

NBA summer league will be fun. I have a good gym out there. Your boy Jimmy B is a great young guard.

Durant is a pure scorer. He always finds a way to put the ball in the hoop. It is going to be a great series.
