Didn't watch a minute of it. I think I will boycott the rest of the season as planned.

My line of thought also. This is a lost season to me.

ECHL All-Star game is coming up. I need to peep when the AHL All-Star game is, 'cause ESPN broadcast it last year.

I never get excited about hockey until around this time of year anyway. I think it's a golden opportunity for any team to get their game together quickly and go all the way to the cup.

What do you hockey fans think of the almost bone head move by the flames ? I am boycotting watching any games this year but from what I was reading today they could have set their already abysmal team back another 5-10 years.

Go Canucks go baby! Born here and grew up here, who else am I going to root for? Plus there is a lot of puck bunnies.
Also, I too haven't watched any games this season from that damn lockout. I'll just wait for the full season next year.

You could always go for the Leafs...

Terrible move, just terrible, one of the dumbest. Throw away important draft picks to overpay an unproven player for 2 years? Well played indeed Calgary.

It would have been crazy, who wouldn't claim ROR without giving anything in return.

Bill Daly said he wouldn't have gone through waivers. The rule was true in the previous cba but not in this one. Don't quote me on this though, I don't know the actual cba myself.

I thought the old rule was he would be placed on waivers first no matter who signed him. The new rule being he wouldn't have to be on waivers only if Colorado signed him. Meaning any other team would have to let him clear waivers first.

I can't believe the GM's response. Basically no harm no foul. Fans should have confidence in management after this.

We should get an over under going on when the flames will finally get a reality check and blow the damn thing up already. Although I do love watching them miss the playoffs every year by a few points and then making a horrible draft pick.

Isn't Flames Central a hub to watch the game? The owners of the Canucks are trying to build a sports bar that copies Flame Central and the one in Toronto

Most bars on 17th ave play the game. Also most play it with sound. I avoid those bars on game night. I hate the flames and I hate their retarded fans.

I have no idea how flames central is for games as I have never been there to watch a game. It is a 100 year old theater and they put on some great shows non hockey related.

Hardcore lifer LA Kings fan here. I lived near their practice facility during the early-mid 90's and have been going to games since even before then.

Speaking of the ECHL, I think we are supposed to goto one of the SF Bulls games in the near future.

Well, I don't believe I've ever seen anything this pathetic. The Kings blew a 3-4 goal lead in the playoffs a few years ago but that was early in the 2nd period of a game 3. The Leafs just blew a 3 goal lead with 10 minutes left, and a 2 goal lead with 2 minutes left. In the playoffs. In a game 7.

It was a Leafs moment for the ages, to be sure.

Philly/Boston from a few years ago is worse, though. Boston builds a 3-0 series lead then loses the next 4 games, AND in Game 7 Boston built a 3-0 lead and the Flyers scored 4 goals.

So not just coming back from a 3-0 series deficit, but a 3-0 goal deficit in Game 7 to win. That... is pretty staggering.

Enjoy. Here in Cincinnati, the Cyclones lost the Eastern Conference playoffs vs. Reading Royals on Saturday night. 5 games, 4-1 Reading. Three of five games went into OT. I'm bummed we didn't make it to the Kelly Cup again but we won in '08 and '10. There's always next year, right?

I used to think that hockey players were a classy bunch, until I read this article: http://www.sportspickle.com/news/16603/b...-in-public

From the article: The Chicago Blackhawks won their second Stanley Cup in four years on Monday night and Chicagoland is ready to celebrate with a parade. City officials announced today that the parade is tentatively scheduled for Friday, or as early as star right wing Patrick Kane is sober enough to appear in public without humiliating himself or the organization.
"The city wants to say thank you to our team and celebrate another Cup," said mayor Rahm Emanuel. "Ideally the parade will be on Friday, but we want Patrick Kane to be a part of it. He was the Conn Smythe winner and the fans love him. However, we can't have him passed out or vomiting on everyone. So we'll schedule around his ability to walk and make words."

Kane said he will appear at the parade whenever it is held.

"Woooooooo! Show me your tits!" the Conn Smythe winner yelled, before punching a vending machine and vomiting on an elderly woman in a wheelchair. "We're doing eyeball shots! Wooooooooo!"

Despite Kane's enthusiasm to celebrate, head coach Joel Quenneville said it's probably best that the parade go on as scheduled this Friday without him.

"I honestly don't expect him to be sober until a month or two into next season," said Quenneville. "In fact, the reason we didn't repeat three years ago was because Patrick had a literal Stanley Cup hangover the whole season. But he has matured since then, so I'm optimistic that he'll be sober by January, as long as he doesn't hit the holidays too hard."

Kane's supposed drunkenness may not even be a problem, as he insisted he barely even has a buzz.

"Whaaaaa um nah shifayst. Yer shiffest," he said. "I nibber bi bettr," he added, barfing into the bowl of the Cup and then dry-humping a hockey equipment bag.

Well at least no hockey players are out murdering people, yet.

Intriguing info there Scotian. Kane is essentially a product of a very weak 07 draft class in terms of ready to play prospects. He's a 5-10 scoring winger who would've been a 10 or 11 pick at best in other classes. When he's not being shielded by bigger and more talented wingers like Toews, Hossa, or Sharp whom also kill penalties and play the tougher minutes, then he would not have as much space to maneuver around offensively like he does.

Size isn't everything in hockey, but there are smaller guys out there like St. Louis, Crosby, Giroux and Zetterberg have been forced to evolve on both ends of the ice while taking on more responsibilities & learning to kill penalties whereas Kane gets 6 mil a year (and a raise in the future) without really having to develop as an overall player that has made his teammates better...not to mention Giroux and Zetterberg switched from wingers to centerman too.

Looks like I was duped! I would expect that behavior from someone like Bob Probert or Darren McCarty but not Kane, maybe I should have looked into it further.

Just a quick bump given playoff hockey is getting serious now. My predictions for the next round are the same as they were at the end of the first round:

I fully expect LA to dispatch Anaheim and Chicago to take care of Minny. In the east I have Pittsburgh and Boston, though Boston needs to get their head out of their ass a little bit.

Hoping the Kings will pick up their 2nd cup in three years in a few weeks here!

Not a chance. Kane wasn`t expected to even get taken in the first couple rounds until a meteoric rise in his draft stock in 06-07. Kane`s performance in London alongside gagner and kostitsyn pretty much guaranteed he`d be a top 3 pick in any year.

I think LA goes to the final, not sure about the East.
