I didn't watch the video but anyone paying $1000 to live in a run-down building in the outskirts of SZ is straight up lying to you. It's $1000 for a 1BR condo downtown if you search for more than 10 minutes. I have visited multiple outer suburbs of SZ and the last apartment my friend (teacher) was staying in was 2BR brand new clean nice community, for $350 a month including utilities.

I'm not sure what expats gain from telling others that certain cities are "so expensive" perhaps to drive out the competition.
