Im just chilling playing Duke Nukem 3D which I scored on steam for 3 bucks.
Hate NYE and I cant remember ever having a good one. So this year I decided to stay in and save my money. Tomorrow Im gonna hit the gym early while everyones still nursing their hangover.

Will be at my parent's house with a bunch of friends and family. All of my past NYE events have always been mediocre. Friend's fiance is bringing a decent looking friend who I've been told terribly wants my nuts but will be with her ultra beta boyfriend. Should be interesting.

No invites were even marginally worth driving the 10 plus miles for, plus I haven't felt sociable the past few days (which is prob. the best time for me to go out, because I do much better in that frame of mind).
So, I will be relaxing ... soon.
First, doing some cleaning, sampling a nice chili I've been simmering all day, and figuring out my mileage and other expenses for work.
Then, I'll retire to the couch with my two dogs and two cats and we will check out a movie. Hope that's bad boy enough for the bitches.

There was a lake house party but that is no longer an option.
Had n invite to play poker. I think I'll turn that down.
A couple friends want to go out to these college bars but I don't really want to do that but for some reason I feel obligated since a friend from out of town is here. rather just chill in the forum lounge or read a book. Or listen to the new gucci mane mixtape The state vs radrick Davis II

I'm at work now. Doing three people's jobs because no one else could be bothered to show up.
But I'll grab a drink after my shift ends at midnight. I'd party at my own place, but quite honestly, it's a student apartment and it would be depressing to me to stay in enjoy the non-existent decor and one piece of furniture.

Cheers, gentlemen.

I just moved to a different state and only have a couple friends here and none of them are doing shit. So I guess I'll be chilling. I think I'll sit down by the fireplace and write down my goals for the next year and the steps to achieve them.

Staying in watching football and making soup. Artichoke, chicken, some greens, carrots and green onions.
After the football will be queuing up a Steve McQueen movie(still undecided as to which), bodyweight exercising and starting my 2014 resolution list. Had some from this past year and not stashing enough dough in the Roth IRA is the only one I didn't complete.

I'm at home sipping on some Johnny Walker Red Label and looking over my notes I've made over the year on my game improvement as well as ideas for possible money making strategies over 2014. Happy New Year to everyone here on RVF, wherever you may be.

Good post +1000. Exactly what I was just thinking. New Year's is really amateur night and a recipe for trouble.
I am just going to take it easy and hit up the hotel bar I'm at and stay close to home. G*d knows I don't want to be in a cab at 1-3am making myself a target for all the drunk drivers and/or police roadblocks. Women are either with someone or light drinkers who get themselves too drunk to game too.
Happy New Year RVF!!

Opened a bottle of bourbon a few minutes ago and will be spending the night planning some big moves for 2014.
The new year will also be one of less distractions and bullshit. I've been busy figuring out whom among my friends and acquaintances contributes to my life, and whom detracts. Those on the downside of the equation won't be hearing from me much longer. I'm closer to 30 than I am 20, so it's time to get my lifestyle in check.

Workin tonight like a stiff. One of the main downsides to working in hospitality.
Putting out a baller menu though. Chilled potato leek soup with caviar and dill, beef carpaccio with horseradish-tarragon dressing, hamachi crudo with kumquats and serrano chile oil, eggs and black truffles, butter poached maine lobster with lemongrass and kaffir, some nice desserts.
I've got an invite to a VIP champagne toast, with vintage Dom and Cristal, but it's going to take a lot to get me there. Honestly I'd rather spend my night with some herbal tea and my foam roller and kill the gym tomorrow.

thedude, you ever drink on the job? It was a nightly occurence at one restaurant I worked at. Soon as the last customer left, we locked the door, cracked a round of beers then started our closing duties with a second beer in hand.

Black truffles aren't chocolate. They're a fungus, kind of like mushrooms, but are very rare and expensive.
