Just buy fake leather jacket. Not many people wear real leather jacket these days. (sometimes I see that creepy black leather jacket)
Fake one is on trend. even designers are using the material. (it was a material for unknown brand back then)
It's easier to maintain. doesn't get scratched, doesn't get stained etc.

I have a military leather jacket a lot like this:
However, I generally try to avoid wearing leather simply because of the hell I catch from my male siblings/friends. I've never really understood their hung up on leather. Has anyone dealt with similar reactions? My friends/siblings aren't PETA activists by any means either.
Anyways, I like wear black varsity jackets with wool in them.

I really want to get a leather jacket. They can be pricey. Should I go with black or dark brown?

Schott and Avriex make nice jackets.
Anybody know where I can get a nice shearling coat made?
I don't want black or brown

What do you guys think of brown leather boots with a black leather jacket or vice versa? Yay or nay?

I'm thinking the Allen Edmonds Dalton in walnut. I wonder if that would jive with a black jacket. I think it can as long as the belt matches the boots.

How do you guys rock it without appearing too old though?
For instance I'm 25 and every time I wear a leather jacket girls tell me "I look old." I recall a girl say that I look like a someone from the movie Grease.
This is the one I had

Reactionary, I bought a Schott last year, the brown bomber with the removable fur collar thing. I have to admit I dislike the fit, its too bulky and short. I bought the one you posted there initially, but it fit like shit (all of the coats are so damn short!) so I sent it back and got a new one. The replacement didn't fit either so I sent that one back and got another. By the time the third one came I was so pissed off I spent 800 bucks on a jacket that didn't fit as good as I had hoped but just kept it anyways, it still does the trick and looks better now that I broke it in and took off the fur thing.
My advice is to try one on before taking the plunge. If not you may end up like me having to send back a couple coats before committing.
I was up in Canada at the time so there was no hope of trying one on, I dont think Schotts are found in many stores outside NYC.
If you can't try one on then be very leery of making such a big investment. If you are in NYC then you gotta hit the store up and get sized out and try on the various styles.

I will be getting a Schott leather jacket in the next few weeks, is anyone familiar with their sizing since I can't try before buying??
With leather jackets, if you look like a bad ass or tougher type they will look great. Nerdy or office worker looking and they will have the opposite effect!

Depends how big you are. I'm 5"11 170 and large is fine. I first got medium and it was way too short which surprised me since I'm not exactly tall.
It's hard to tell at first because they are so stiff and boxy/Bulky but they actually do break in and relax over time.
To accelerate the process I wore mine out on a rainy day when running errands and while it was damp I kind of stretched my body around a bit when I got home. Next day it fit better.
