This video didn't do anything for me.

1. Dude is definitely a beta male, asked her out 150 times till she said yes, come on.
2. Yes she is cute and bangable for 37 any one on here who thinks she is ugly for 37 is just trolling (they could have gotten healthy in the USA if they worked less are healthy and worked out)
3. They were unable to "see the light" they say in the video they had a house 2x too big... Okay move to a smaller house work less hours and you're set?
4. They can't separate from the rat race, IDGAF about the next fad/iPhone/iPad whatever. I spend only on things that make me happy a gym membership, quality food to make at home and nights out to drink

This video is just an example of two people who can't live within their own environment, they let the environment control them.

It's always the same story, the people who love living abroad don't make wages equal to the local population. If you quit your job to live on $50K a year in the DR that's not a real sacrifice. Now if you quit to live on 15K... That's just a dumbass move if you can make $300K in the usa

Again, the goal is for a person to be happy, however that person defines happiness. Certainly a person could stay in the USA, if he/she is happy and content here, or a person can make a move to Costa Rica, Panama, Cape Verde, Medellin, Nicaragua, Jamaica, Mexico, etc. The move could even be to another area of the USA. Everyone defines what works best for them.

That is not my point.

They let the environment control them, you should be your own environment.

Glad they are happy but they certainly don't have strong willpower

The video is a story about what worked for this particular couple. However, the general premise is generalizable to others.

If a guy chooses to move somewhere where its better weather, more availability of fresh fruits, vegetables, and organic meats, a lower cost of living, unlimited pussy, a slower and more relaxed pace, he gets away from the pressures of family BS, is better able to pursue certain passions, embraces another culture, etc. How is that letting his environment control him?

Okay, simple.

Why do you let your family pressure you? Can't control your emotions?

How is it a rat race culture if you don't ascribe to it?

You can get cheap produce in the USA just as cheap abroad (variety adjusted)

So yeah it's just another stupid story to me. Also LoL at unlimited pussy be real. Everywhere you need game some money and logistics. Pussy paradise just means cash is being drained because there is no way to make good income and you're getting better RIO than you do at home

That hippie go "find a place for you" nonsense will work on most people not on me though. I know the rules. Make cash in a high income place when your time is up in 35-40 range move that cash to your country of choice and push player life out another 25+ years.

TL;DR why do people allow others to impact their thinking. Fuck that

This seems to be consistent with the central them of the video. I think the connection is pretty obvious. These people were professionals with all the creature comforts that signal success and left at 37, which fits within the time range you mentioned.

How many times he asked his wife out; whether he is alpha, beta or pasta; how his wife looks ... all of this is background noise that is not central to the story.

Say what you will but I feel like he's glad he was a beta and asked her out 150 times, if he had not he may have ended up with some feminist heffer. Instead he is living in a tropical paradise with a attractive woman that has been by his side threw the thick and thin. They seem to compliment each other very well and seem legitimately happier then pretty much everyone I see on a daily basis when I go out.

Ha yeah we all clearly have different ways of living/viewing life.

If I had to switch spots with him today I would tell you to put a gun to my head and pull the fucking trigger.

I could never ever ever ever wake up and say "I made the best of myself in this life I have" so I would go insane and just pull the trigger.

I can't settle for a life of complacency and sloth. To each his own.

Sometimes when I drink to much I feel like I put the fun to my head and pulled the trigger.

Haha! Ya typo

Either way if you actually agree with his life definitely cross me off the list of people you ever want to meet. We wouldn't get along for a second.

I can literally do that right now and I wouldn't do it because my goals are bigger than that.

To give anything less than your best is to settle just like the rest.

Sloth? Dude seems pretty active to me. His lifestyle isn't my ideal type, but just because he isn't working, doesn't make him slovenly.

I just feel like for him its a vast improvement on his previous life and I commend him for not just staying in the fat rat race life he previously was. Granted some other members on here perhaps even you WestCoast would do things a little different, but for the fellow in the video its enough to make him happier then A LOT of Americans.

Even if we have a minor disagreement on whether or not this guy bettered his life I would still buy you a beer one day Mr. WestCoast.

Am I maxing out my potential? Yes or no.

If no I have no interest in said persons lifestyle.

I have only met one man in my life who out works me and he is approaching 70 running serious biz. That's what I want to be. Always improving. Anything less is a waste of my time.

Again I am happy he is happy, not in the cards for me. Give me a gun instead.

^^i agree that the guy in the video is coping out but why would you like to WORK forever? work is a form of indentured slavery regardless if you are the boss or not(others profit from your labor ,TAXES). But work is productive for society and i pretty much don't want to help society anymore..done that already!
In my family we have a total opposite attitude...retire as young as possible since life can be short. All of us are technically millionaires and all have pensions. So success can come from a desire to do as little as possible.Something to think about!
But I agree with Westcoast that that guy in video makes excuses. I think though he might be saying "getting out of rat race" just for the sake of the video. It seems to be used a lot.
But no one put a gun to his head and said he had to work forever to buy things to keep up with the jones. He doesn't have the confidence enough to live how he wants near"the jones" so he moves far away.
It like guys who think they learned to become financially stable by ripping up credit cards. Being responsible is being able to control spending and using cards smartly. Ripping them up is a cop out..shows lack of control. The guy in the video might have the same lack of control.
If he surely wants to stop working early than YEAH moving out of the 1st world is pretty good idea!
These shows are usually somewhat promotional so I don't take it too serious. Most expats I know have a reason to be in specific countries.

Yep he lacks self control. That is the exact takeaway. If you don't want to work at all that's fine since you're a millionaire jim. My views have changed dramatically this year because i know what my personality is like. I used to believe i would "hit my number and just leave to pussy paradise". No. Hell the fuck no. I will max out my potential. I will work until i am dead. Doing something building something making something I enjoy. I can quit right now and go live similar to that guy but fuck that shit. Retirement is just a scam to me. Slow death. Rot and die. No thank you. I'll make a "pussy paradise adjustment" when chicks are no longer attracted to me here.

I can't wake up every day at noon go get a coffee hit on a few chicks and call that a day. Thats such a shitty life I think i would seriously kill myself. Knowing i am just "getting by".

I would rather wake up make money, improve physically, improve mentally by solving problems in said buisness, improve improve improve. This is just how i am wired. I am not like that guy, i don't "keep up with the jones" i don't give a fuck about what other people do because i create my own environment.

Will I have the same job, doing the same shit forever? No. Will i likely be this active when i am 40? No. But the idea of living on the beach in a banana hammock drinking mai thai's with "unlimited supply of pussy" is simply bullshit, plain and simple bullshit.

---

"Today is a good day to die" If i can't say that every day then i'm not making the most of my day. If i went to XYZ country and spent my time dicking around lifting weights and sleeping in there is no way i can wake up in the morning and say "Yeah WestCoast you're maxing out your potential".

I actually skipped the coffee for a turkey sandwich today. I am about to go hit the weights though. Probably go to the mall after and hit on a few chicks, then call it a day.

Westcoast, you are making so many assumptions about this guys life it has got to the point you are not even making any sense. You have no clue as to what he has accomplished or what he is working on with his freedom.

The fact that he went from fat to a pretty damn good muscular build says you are wrong.

How do you know the guy isn't pushing himself in other ways? You do know there is more to life than business and money? Like art, learning languages, horticulture, etc...

You say he made excuses. haha You only talk about making money and retiring overseas. This guy did exactly what you have been trying to do without success as of yet.

It isn't slavery if you enjoy what you're doing. Cmon Jim, you sit around playing videos games during the day. I don't even remember the last time I was able to sit down and play a video game without getting bored really fast.

You have to do something with your day to keep the brain going. Work isn't just slavery but can give you purpose. That purpose can be as simple as keeping you engaged in learning or staying active.

I have seen what retirement can do if you don't replace your time with something productive.

Not for me, I won't ever stop working. I just enjoy the creative side too much.

I'm probably more like Westcoast when it comes to this. I get stir crazy after a couple of weeks of sitting around.

I think a lot of people dream of this type of life only to realize it can get very boring depending on your personality.

I believe you really do need a hobby that you're passionate about to occupy your time. It doesn't have to be work but something that keeps you getting out of bed with excitement.

You will see many expats try to fill that time in the bar drinking their livers black or bald guys walking around malls with turkey sandwiches. I am not sure which is worst.

I don't think I made a lot of assumptions

1. He is happy
2. He got destroyed by rat race because he states in video he lived in a house where he didn't see 50% of it = idiot purchase considering he has no family
3. He says they live on 1,200 a month. Back of envelope math says he could have been really well off if he never got roped in.

Again great he is happy, I would kill myself with his life though. These threads are great to me because it lets me know what type of personalities are on this forum.

Also still LOL at unlimited supply of pussy for $1,200 a month, if you guys find of such place in your 40's I'll seriously fly over and give you a medal.

---

One thing I don't get back is the 20 minutes I spent watching the whole thing, fuck me!
