I don't trade stocks, but am thinking about getting into based on this thread. I added about 8 stocks to my "Watch List" on E-Trade last night based on some recommendations here.
Two stocks, Namaste (NXXTF) and Tilray (TLRY) are up BIG today, ~9% and ~14% respectively. The marijuana, vaping etc. industries look to be pretty hot. Cheers to the guys that had these in their portfolios.

Anyone any thoughts on the Chinese BATs?
They have been pummelled lately. I have a fairly large position in each of them so I’m quite a few $ down but I’m long on them and not too concerned.
I’ve been buying a few more shares in each with all the price drops but I don’t want to overweight my portfolio with them too much...

If you have some cash to invest, are you better off investing in stocks or in properties?

I’m up 45% on Match.com Group also.
I bought when they dipped on news that Facebook would be launching a dating feature. I just knew that wouldn’t do anything to Match’s bottom line.
I feel that if you believe in the growth and longevity of online dating (I do, overall), then Match are where to put your $.
My domestic portfolio has done brilliantly the past 6 months, with the exception of FB which I mostly bought around the $175 range so not too bad.
However, I have about 25% of my portfolio in the BATs and they have been hammered so that’s real dragged on my performance. I’m very long on these though. They really are the blue chip behemoths of China so they are a good bet in the long run I am sure.

That question mark was a typo.

I bought MU (Micron) today. MU's fundamentals are great. Why is it so cheap with a P/E ratio below 5? Analysts think that supply of chips is becoming abundant, the price will fall, and hence, MU's profits will fall. However, the management states that its demand is strong, especially with the new AI etc applications. When MU released its last earnings, it beat the estimates but the stock decreased. I am pretty sure that its earnings will be great in this quarter but I am not sure how the market will react. This kind of makes it a risky buy as MU will release its quarterly earnings very soon.
Technically, MU is oversold. It is another reason to buy for me.
I started to buy SPY puts (spreads) in small amounts.

By the way historically if you believe anything in seasonality we are starting the worst period for the stock market (the second half of September).
If you have some cash might be a good time to sit on it for a couple of weeks.

RLT any stocks you recommend to buy? I won’t invest a lot of money, just want to understand how it works, I will throw some money on it and see how it goes.

Anyone have any thoughts on the ROBO ETF which invests in AI, robotics and Automation companies?
Also, Does anyone have any favourite buys in those areas?
Obviously a big growth area.
