^ That was Federation Day I.e. 1 January, marking the federation of the colonies. A date which some have floated as an alternative national day.
There were no British colonies in Australia to federate before 26 January 1788.

I've always been a bit jealous of the Yanks on account of them having a way more interesting native race. Some American Indian women are smoking hot too.
I can't even begin to imagine how you'd go about remaking Pochahontas with a native Australian theme.
Captain John Smith senses he's being watched. He lays in wait until the stalker moves forward and then he leaps through the waterfall, gun raised to the ready.
It's a woman! His gun begins to lower. The mist clears and he sees her more clearly.
"Da FUCK?!?"
*BOOM*

Australia Day 2017: protesters descend on Parliament House as PM rejects call to change date
Quote:Quote:
PROTESTERS have descended on Parliament House to speak out against a proposed referendum to change the constitution to include indigenous Australians.
More than 100 activists marched up to the steps of Parliament at midday waving the Aboriginal flag.
At least a dozen police stood in front of the doors and to each side of the group as they collectively sat blocking the main entrance.
For more than an hour speakers addressed the crowd on the crimes against Australia’s first people through colonisation.
Activists shouted “shame” and “genocide” as one speaker outlined how a referendum which successfully voted to include indigenous Australians in the constitution would “legitimise” the document and the crimes against his people.
“We are unwilling to participate in our own destruction,” he said.
“Even if we vote ‘Yes’ we lose, if we vote ‘No’ we lose.
“If we sit down and do nothing we lose.”
Not a lot of standing up going on....
Barnaby Joyce ridicules ‘change the date’ campaign
Quote:Quote:
SENIOR government ministers have kicked off Australia Day by ridiculing the campaign to change the date as “unnecessary” and “political correctness gone mad”.
In an interview on Sydney talkback station 2GB, Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce said if people didn’t like celebrating on January 26, the should “do something else”.
“This is Australia Day, and if you don’t like it, I don’t know mate, go to work. Do something else,” he said.
The Nationals leader was responding to widespread calls for the national holiday to be shifted so as not to coincide with the anniversary of the beginning of Aboriginal dispossession.
The campaign has been embraced by indigenous groups and a diverse range of Australian leaders, all of whom Mr Joyce slammed as “miserable”.
“Today is a day about celebration,” Mr Joyce said from his Tamworth home.
“I’m just sick of these people who every time they want to make us feel guilty about it. They don’t like Christmas, they don’t like Australia Day, they’re just miserable … and I wish they’d crawl under a rock and hide for a little bit.”
The Nationals leader said the debate was “political correctness gone mad”, and boasted he was sitting on his veranda with the Australian flag raised in his garden.
“This is a great country. Aren’t we lucky? If this isn’t worth celebrating, what is?” he asked.
Quote:Quote:
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull dismissed any possible date change, saying it was “not a change the government supports”.
“I believe we should maintain the date,” Mr Turnbull told media in Canberra.
“Everyone is entitled to a point of view but I think most Australians accept January 26 as Australia Day.”

Happy Australia Day: "biggest c*nt" Roo foils WA drug run
Quote:Quote:
A TRUCK driver who transported kilograms of meth, cocaine and ecstasy from Sydney to Western Australia has been jailed for more than 16 years for his integral part in the interstate syndicate — which was foiled, in part, by a two-metre-tall kangaroo.
Rodney John Chadburne, 48, was the principal courier for the gang who were trying to import drugs worth hundreds of thousands of dollars into WA hidden in gear transmission boxes.
In 2014, Chadburne was on one such trip when his vehicle carrying the drugs was badly damaged in a collision with a kangaroo near Broken Hill, which Chadburne later told an associate the roo was the “biggest c**t you had ever seen”, at more than two metres tall.
The damage inflicted in the collision forced Chadburne to source a new vehicle to transport his drugs — in which he also stashed a $200,000 package of cocaine in the wheel arch.
Quote:Quote:
After being stopped, arrested and released on bail by police, Chadburne tried to track down the vehicle at an auction house in a bid to retrieve the package of drugs.
But police intercepted the calls, and became suspicious — using a drugs dog to find the stashed drugs, and gain more evidence against Chadburne.
After being found guilty after trial late last year, Chadburne was yesterday given a 16-and-a-half year sentence by Judge Christopher Stevenson, who said he had shown “stupidity and greed” in trying to recover the cocaine hidden in the car.
“It was also a one-stop shop attempt to sell or supply the drugs, by reason of the three different types of drugs involved in the shipment,” Judge Stevenson said.
Chadburne will be eligible for parole in early 2031.

One place I am certain i will never visit is that prison island people call Australia. Not only is it full of deadly snakes, spiders, fire ants, crocs and great whites a huge deadly desert area and burning hot sunshine, it has insufferable politicians and cunt communists trying to ruin the place.
But I hope they never capitulate to the weak commies who want to turn it into some multicultural petri dish. Train some crocs and roo's to fuck them up for gods sake!

Or how bout this?
Very divided over this track. It's a killer hip hop lick & then you listen to the Year Zero, white guilt, abo finger-wagging lyrics...
A.B. Original. The name says it all, really
As a golden age hip hop aficionado, its very sad to see the artistic joy of hip hop origins be twisted & manipulated to fit yet another narrative (that east coast/west coast gangsta shit is just the same tripe of another stripe) in order to push an agenda & sell out on the altar of consumerism, SJWism & ultimately cultural relativity. And the Aussie hip hop community has played a big part in all of this Year Zero nonsense. If you are not an abo apologist you are not hip hop in Australia. Our hip hop artists have to really dig deep to find their "ghetto" roots, living as they do in such a fortunate part of the world. And so "Invasion Day" is just such a cause that they can ignorantly get behind for the single solitary reason of trying to justify being a white Australian appropriating an African-American culture.
It's all ludicrous & just so fucking boring.

The AB Original song does sound like a candidate for a
Moon Man album, if you can find an instrumental for it. The chord progression sounds quite similar to Chinese Arithmetic by Faith No More and Errors of My Ways by Wishbone Ash.
,,Я видел, куда падает солнце!
Оно уходит сквозь постель,
В глубокую щель!"

G'day Strines! Throw another tinnie on the barbie, mate!
Ozzies have got to be the most perplexing and unpredictable people on the planet, on a scale of 1-10.
I mean, you usually know what you are going to get, and you are usually right. But more often than not, your quiet prejudices or expectations are torn asunder.
I ended up learning to not have any prejudices at all, after a while. On more than one occasion, at a party, everyone off their head, some beefy suntanned dude slurring his words, giving you the metaphorical right hook.
Programming Assembler/C++ all day long, and just letting their 'hair' down. No big deal.
And the most resourceful and multi-tasking fellas on the planet come from down under too. Fix their motorbike, write a song, box a kangaroo, create new forms of art, build their own home etc. etc. - sickening really.
And talking of writing songs, some of the most incredible music makers hail from those parts too. But don't seem to want to have much to do with the BS. Funny that.
Aw, hell, I love you guys! I know things are changing pretty fast for you, but it is for the rest of the world as well. Down there down under, you don't seem to be exempt from the mayhem. In fact, well, there's some shit that seems even worse than where we are. No time for downers.
Is my tinnie cooked yet?

HISTORY
At the time of early colonial settlement, Barangaroo - a powerful Cammeraygal woman - was a key figure in local Aboriginal culture and community. One of her husbands was Bennelong, after whom Bennelong Point - the site of the Sydney Opera House - is named.
Pre Settlement
The Barangaroo site was part of the territory of the Cadigal people, the traditional owners of the Sydney city region, and was used for fishing and hunting. Large shell middens and numerous rock engravings close to the site indicate indigenous occupation dating back around 6,000 years, while radio carbon dates from other parts of Sydney indicate that the wider area was occupied for at least 14,500 years prior to European settlement.
At the time of European and Aboriginal contact, Governor Phillip estimated that there were about 1500 Aboriginal people inhabiting the coastal area of Botany Bay, Port Jackson and Broken Bay. The population reduced dramatically with the introduction of smallpox into Sydney's Aboriginal community in the first years of European settlement. More than half of Sydney's Aboriginal population is believed to have died in the smallpox epidemic of 1789.
Weaponised smallpox, mind you.

Ye-gods!
Imagine picking up a dinged up POS for parts at auction and then having cops on your doorstep, or worse, professional drug dealers.
