France used to be a leading power, especially culturally. In the past they used to be racists but then not, teachers, innovators, tough, dynamic, beautiful, stylish, masculine, and above all else leaders. For many Canadians and Louisianians our culture is probably more French based than Canadian or American. Of all the imperial nations, they seemed to leave the strongest impression culturally on any place they conquered. Now their culture is that of cowardice. The France of old may never come back and be relevant. Today and perhaps forever they will be the butt end of jokes from WW1 and WW2. How long will it take for them to wake up be smarter? It's not so much because they blend with others so much, they just lost their own identity and willpower to project their culture on anyone else at some juncture. It takes generations to build anything but only seconds to lose it. The French are a stark reminder for any civilization from a historical standpoint. Hegemony has more to do with consistency than any other factor sans technology.

If it was a problem with fireworks how come there aren't any pops or bangs? Municipal fireworks don't just burn, they detonate.
