Alton Sterling fatally shot by Baton Rouge Police

That's a bit surreal seeing the videos on twitter.
I remember those green lit buildings from living in Dallas for a short time. The echo of the shots off the high rises gets me.
Sent one of my cop buddies a message telling him to watch his ass, because the crazies are out.

That dumb cunts attention whoring twitter account pisses me off as much as her stupid face.
Not to mention the stupid bitch stole the video from another twitter account.

While I agreed that Sterling's death was brutal, let's take a look at his background though.
1. He raped and impregnated a 14 year old girl when he was 20. (Girl obviously knew what she was doing though.)

2. As a father of several kids...well, a picture is worth a thousand words.

3. He was a member of the Bloods gang due to his five point star tattoo.

Incidents like this one in particular are fantastic in that you can take all the commenters and divide them with crystal clarity between people who have gotten down and dirty and people who's knowledge of brawling begins and ends at Virtua Fighter 4.
Fact 1: A guy that large cannot be reliably physically subdued by anything less than five trained men of equal or larger stature, regardless of what Hollywood or your McDojo sensei tells you.
Fact 2: Tasers are not a magic wands of incapacitation. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't. They are perfect for engaging a lightly armed person in a standoff situation while other officers have real guns at the ready. For any other situation they are either overkill at one end or an extremely stupid gamble at the other.
Fact 3: The scumbag's history is entirely relevant to the beat cops who know the score, and suggesting that they approach him with the same good will as they would a girl scout is ridiculous.
Fact 4: A scumbag who's part of a gang may reasonably be assumed to be armed, and indeed during the struggle his weapon may have printed or been felt by one of the officers.
Fact 5: It would take literally one second for that scumbag to free one of his slippery, sweaty arms, go for his gun and kill one of the officers at point blank. One more second and the other one would be dead too.
Summary 1: If you join a gang and do stupid shit that gets you a bad rep, and then refuse to submit to the police as and when they try to apprehend you then bad shit is going to happen to you.
Summary 2: Kneejerk authority haters will come to your defence whether you were complying or swinging around an AIDS needle.
Summary 3: There are apparently a lot more kneejerk, authority hater combat virgins on this forum than I originally thought.

This is the kind of scum people defend?
Watching those late night police reality programs, the American police always come across as rude, disrespectul and overy aggressive, compared to police in England. Its probably due to the availability of guns but im not sure.
I always felt I'd be really pissed if they treated me that way.

The problem we have in America is that there are too many Racist White Supremacists applying for police jobs. The U.S. Federal Government does not do enough to combat this. The FBI warned of this in 2006.

I'll indulge the troll with some questions.
1. Assuming there are 900,000 police officers in the United States (getting exact number is very difficult), what percentage of these police are "racist White supremists"?
2. How did you arrive at the figure above?
3. What is an acceptable percentage of "racist White supremacists" allowed to be police officers?

The guy is scum, but that doesn't warrant shooting him. When someone is helpless at the ground and you are easily able to keep him pinned, why would you possibly respond to sudden movement with emptying a clip instead of just slamming him?
Maybe because a sudden movement with his arm is all it takes to kill you when he HAS A GUN!
"When someone is helpless at the ground..."
When someone has a gun, they aren't that helpless. They just need to get an arm free for one second in a dynamic and evolving situation to kill you.
"and you are easily able to keep him pinned"
Pinning someone becomes a lot more difficult after he puts a bullet in you.
Also worth noting that nobody "emptied a clip" into him and that there is no video of where his right arm is at the time of shooting so anybody claiming to know he was unable to access his weapon is a liar or a fool.

Isn't that how Trayvon Martin got shot? He was on top of Zimmerman beating his head into the ground but George had a gun and a free hand. That's all it takes.
Whether or not the shooting was justified, Alton wasn't helpless and at the mercy of the cops.
And I think a lot of people are WILDLY underestimating the difficulty in wrestling somebody WITH A GUN. It's not a wrestling match, "pinning" someone is pretty meaningless, if you can't control the arms of a big, strong guy continuously, without him ever wiggling a struggling and arm free EVEN FOR A SECOND then you could be killed.

True.
These things really are hit or miss. Like in the case of the 17 year old kid who was killed by a police officer last year in Michigan:

I see now that the situation wasn't nearly as "helpless" as I had gotten the impression from that video. Thanks for the perspective!

Racists? I doubt it. Assholes who enjoy feeling power and control over others? Maybe. I'd say the main problem with American cops is their unnecessary aggression and inability to de-escalate tense situations. They literally shoot first and ask questions later.
This chick is so nonchalant it is as if she has boyfriends that get shot by police pretty regularly. The way she just so casually documented the whole thing without getting hysterical. Strange. Most people start freaking out just seeing blood and hearing gunshots much less people who were just and still are in the line of fire.
edit: I am thinking of the Philando Castille video not the Alton Sterling one.

A person who weigh more than 300 lbs will make the officers' job more difficult in trying to make an arrest especially when taking into consideration of his criminal history.

So, I'm driving to my office to turn in my weekly paperwork. A headlight is out. I see a Tucson Police Department squad vehicle turn around and follow me. I'm already preparing for the stop.
The lights go on and I pull over. The officer asks me how I'm doing, and then asks if I have any weapons.
"Yes, sir. I'm a concealed carry permit holder and my weapon is located on my right hip. My wallet is in my back-right pocket."
The officer explains for his safety and mine, he needs to disarm me for the stop. I understand, and I unlock the vehicle. I explain that I'm running a 7TS ALS holster but from the angle, the second officer can't unholster it. Lead officer asks me to step out, and I do so slowly. Officer relieves me of my Glock and compliments the X300U I'm running on it. He also sees my military ID and I tell him I'm with the National Guard.
Lead officer points out my registration card is out of date but he knows my registration is up to date. He goes back to run my license. I know he's got me on at least two infractions. I'm thinking of how to pay them.
Officers return with my Glock in an evidence back, locked and cleared. "Because you were cool with us and didn't give us grief, I'm just going to leave it at a verbal warning. Get that headlight fixed as soon as possible."
I smile. "Thank you, sir."
I'm a black man wearing a hoodie and strapped. According to certain social movements, I shouldn't be alive right now because the police are allegedly out to kill minorities.
Maybe...just maybe...that notion is bunk.
Maybe if you treat police officers with respect, they will do the same to you.
Police officers are people, too. By far and large, most are good people and they're not out to get you.

[EDIT: In my rush to post, I accidentally omitted that my wallet was in the back-right pocket, near my firearm. This was the primary motivation for temporary disarmament. The post has been modified to reflect that.
Again, I'd like to thank the TPD and their officers for their consistent professionalism, courtesy, and the good work that they do, both in this particular contact and every day.][/quote]
Mad respect for this guy. He was extremely cooperative, upfront and honest with a good attitude in not giving the officers a hard time. In return, all he got was just a warning and he didn't have to worry about paying a fine plus traffic infractions.

What's the significance of that picture supposed to be? No way he was carrying a full size 1911 in his front pocket. The item the second cop grabbed out of his pocket was so small it had to have been a pocket pistol or maybe a J-frame revolver, if it was a gun at all.

I am not a gun expert, but to answer your question:
1. One has to ask himself, "Was that gun registered or not? Was it purchased legally or illegally? And was he allowed to have a gun in his possession?". Obviously, the guy was not supposed to due to his criminal background.
2. If the gun wasn't registered and it was purchased illegally off the street, why the fuck did he post it on Facebook? What a fool.
3. He had an arrest record related to firearm(s).
4. I would not be surprised if there were additional illegal weapons of any kind in his home, car or elsewhere. Look at both of his kids pointing the guns in the camera's direction in the picture. That tells you right there that there was more than one illegal weapons.
