When you create your pseudonym for game, how strong is your backstory ?

Take Tinder, for example, using the name Joe Smith for your Facebook account. While you show up as simply "Joe" on Tinder:

- Are you Joe Smith for one match, and/or Joe Brown for another, and so on ? Or are you Joe Smith every time ?

- How'd you come up with your alias ? Is it somewhat common, or oddly unique ? (Not asking for name reveals, just curious).

- How close to your current/past job is your "what do you do for a living" answer ?

- Siblings. Does your alter ego have a sibling that you don't ?

- If you're looking local, how close does your alter ego live to you (or is he on vacation) ?

- If you're out of town, are you there on business, or visiting friends/relatives ?

And in regards to all of the above, what steps (if any) do you take to reinforce your cover ?

I'll give a fake name or troll chicks with bullshit sometimes, but concocting an entire fake life for the purposes of game is ridiculous.

I just use my nickname, which is very generic.

I'm not that diligent with cover stories like CIA agents are. Maybe I should be, but it takes too much mental energy.

Reasonable bullshitting aside, if you're going to such lengths to conceal your real personality and identity you should probably see a psychiatrist. That's not game, that's being a deceitful, shitty person. The point of game (and this community) is to teach you to do those things by yourself, for yourself; instead of lying about your job, actually working hard to earn the job. Instead of making up stories and travel experiences, actually going to those places.

The fact you're fabricating details beyond the interests any typical woman would have (e.g. number of siblings) suggests there is some underlying fear of rejection affecting your behavior.

Fake it 'til you make it?

Name is real, age occasionally isn't, even if I tell the girl they don't mind, I might tell a girl I'm out of town or I'm busy when I'm not or banging another girl.

Usual stories are legit I might embellish my traveling it. That's about it.

You shouldn't have to make an alter ego unless you're deep into a marriage with kids.


You should just have real and good stories to tell, your life SHOULD be interesting. You should be a man a woman would love to be with.

My train of thought (and this thread) was more aligned with the recent threads regarding social media, and the opinion of using an alter ego for the dating sites.

I'm about where Kaotic is when I'm local, when I'm travelling I sometimes use a pseudonym.

I was more curious as to the consensus of how far one would take it.

This is obviously a troll post.

These chicks are super predictable. They get some sort of juvenile thrill out of finding something out.

So why not plant some things for them to find?

You can hack together a Facebook profile in a day, even faster by getting some Indian hacker to create something. Then using basic SEO you could salt the mine with all sorts of gems

Get some press releases made and submitted to newspapers, maybe some "don't date him girl" posts that highlight your "negative" qualities.

Completely depends on the chick and if I'm domestic (USA) or traveling.

ONS: Everything fake, including name, age, location, fake/burner cell number. Obviously never comes over to my place.

Plate/Fuck buddy: Mix of real (30%) & fake (70%). Hardly ever comes over to my place. Use burner number.

Plate/fuck buddy+: Occasionally allow her over to my place after a while. Generally gets real info about me in bits & pieces. Still use burner.

SO (I hate the term "girlfriend", to me it's adolescent parlance): Real info, but in snippets. Is allowed at my place. Generally knows what I do for work. Most likely will have my real number.

If I'm traveling, I'm more prone to be thinking 'future bangs/fiends/pipeline', so I'll pretty much use "plate/fuck buddy+" from above. And I'm usually in "country 'X'" for business opportunities and to visit family (Introduce the social circle angle, even if it's bullshit, you don't come off as a "pump & dump" tourist...unless that fits the situation. Then I don't say shit about family.).

Based on a few threads I've seen regarding the use of a fake name, "traveling on business", etc., I was inquiring on how elaborate the ruse (again, based on a false name) would be, more specifically for ONS.

I posted on this earlier in the lying thread: my cover is very deep, but I am working on making it more shallow. This will come as I get older and truly live the lifestyle I purport to. I do not intend to have cover forever. Rather, my expectations and desired lifestyle are simply a bit too far out of reach for myself with present circumstances. This forum has helped me realize not only what kind of lifestyle I want to live, but also how I can get there. Even so, only being 21 and not yet done with college, my options are obviously limited at the moment.

Man making up a whole separate assumed identity just for running game seems excessive to me. I have never had a stalker though... are they that much of a problem?

Yeah I mean you could go all out and hide your identity with this elaborate alter ego and make yourself untraceable like you're some kind of CIA operative.

Or you could decide not to stick your dick in a girl that'll try to hunt down your mom and hold her ransom until you put a ring on it. Like Suits says the best route is to avoid that shit.

Not that there's enough girls like that to necessitate this kind of effort anyway. And I think a simple fake name here and there is all you need for when you're at the bar and you get really worried the girl is insane. Fake name, end up at her place, and you're good.

When it's social media, then anything beyond a fake name is completely unnecessary in my opinion.

In my experience, no. Women generally get the message after a few rejected calls and unanswered text messages. I think the problem used to be a little worse. It's generally the Beta guys who stalk women and who never seem to get the message.

Yes and yes. Even though it was over a decade ago for me, I'm still paranoid.

One thing I could never do is lie about my name. Job, age, town I live in yes but name would just feel too weird.
