Vancouver Data Sheet

I haven't seen a comprehensive data sheet on Vancouver yet. I have however heard a lot of talk about the girls being stuck up, the people being too shy, and the nightclubs subpar. Compared to my hometown, this place is a goldmine for things to do and girls to see, the transit is really good and decently cheap ($2.50 for an 1.5 hr ticket i think), taxis, not so much. The skytrain/metro closes at about 1am so either get there then or find a nightbus that goes where youre going. (unless youre cabbing. Vancouver is great if youre an outdoors activity kind of guy, multiple ski mountains really close by, mountain biking in the summer, hiking, kayaking, all of that jazz. This data is from my own personal experience and thus opinion unless otherwise noted. I'm writing this from the perspective of a 20 year old university kid so older guys might want to look more into the older people venues as there are tons.

Girls: The girls here are moderately decent. The types of girls you will find out and about are as follows: swpl/whole-foods girls, university girls, asian girls, more asian girls, hippie girls and hipster girls. There are some bleach blonde, big tittied Pam Anderson lookalikes, but they are rare outside of nightlife. You'll find the swpl/whole-foods girls who are usually 25-35 in their natural habitat of North Vancouver lurking in whole foods with their herb hangers on. The seabus ride from downtown to North Van is far from worth it for these girls, they seem kind of scared by any kind of agressive game. Tactic: talk about your free range/local/vegan/gluten free whatever, who knows maybe you'll find a new use for apple cider vinegar. Univeristy girls: found at the various universities/colleges around. Nerdy art girls are at emily carr by granville island (fun place to go for an outdoor date followed by a steak close) they are usually HOT, but got hot after highschool so they are pretentious and socially retarded, be cautious. I find a lot of the hotter girls are involved in sororities. Asian girls: two types, nerdy and hot. The hot ones usually go out on weekends attention whoring and their circles are usually impenetrable due to millions of asian beta orbiters and girlfriends taking pictures, nerdy asian girls are not hot. I have limited success (a few makeouts). Hippie girls: on the east side, they smell and have dreadlocks 200% chance of being a raging feminist. Hipsters: their hangout spots the astoria, the rickshaw, biltmore, who knows ive never been, they are found on the east end too, around brodway and commercial, they usually live with their parents, with some hipster orbiters or go to emily carr. Use dry humour and wes anderson references frequently. You have to be cool, but not too cool.

Day game: being in university and all I have little time to run day game unless I actually happen to be going somewhere, it will usually be at a library, or places on campus. Vancouver is a walking friendly city, just pick the girl archetype you want and go to said location. If you can break the iPod barrier transit game is usually a good choice, provided some dudes junk isnt an inch from your face. Downtown is full of stores so you can ask “directions” and such, metrotown is full of L.Gs and asian girls, but massive. Beware of wild feminists though, the alcohol that comes with daygame tends to lessen the feminist outcries, or maybe its because the feminist chicks don't go out clubbing.

Night clubs: - main spots are downtown on granville street, its a huge party down there most of the time. One positive is that ed hardy/affliction are banned, so the striped shirt guy of the 90s is back in, but hey no more douchebags. Dress well and be aggressive, 90% of the guys are betas, most of the alpha looking characters are indian guys (sorry indian race thread troll), but I don't think the chicks dig them that much, they do dig latin guys however, and white guys that look like jake gyllenhaal.

Venue: My first club I went to, two floors, one balcony overlooking the dancefloor, its loud enough to be unable to speak on the bottom due to a decent sound system. The upstairs has lounge seating, but is usually packed with bros and their crews, the balcony can be a good spot to slide up next to a girl and point out some drunk retard down below. They play top 40, but have concerts there so check if theres something going on before you go. Cover is $12. drinks are like $7 for a budweiser. As for the crowd, the guys have negative game, usually a few stumbling captain cavemen, the girls are cute and can be HOT, mostly white girls with some asian girls, a lot of university kids on fridays but there are many birthday parties held there. I'd use dance approaches unless the girls look terrified and then theyre just there to dance and just got some dude rubbing his half chub in her ass.Age group 19-21. http://www.venuelive.ca/photos/223/VENUE...2-5863.jpg typical venue girls
http://www.venuelive.ca/photos/223/VENUE...2-5868.jpg typical venue guys(bless their beta hearts)

AuBar: on hamilton street, but downtown/close to everything else. this kind of sums it up, I was blackout the only time I went but got a free bottle of champagne out of the bartender for my friends bday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyXQacMcPhM
Usually the darker girls go (black and indian) usually people 20+ they play top 40 and some hip-hop/rnb expensive as well.

Barcelona: had a cool layout and dancefloor. Bathrooms looked perfect for some quick sex. A bouncer got shot a while back so they might be kind of strict on security these days.

Celebrities: on davie (again downtown): the gay bar of the city. Tuesday nights are straight/student nights. Expect the archetypical hot asian girls EVERYWHERE along with their orbiters. They have a lot of electro shows and the music is always tight. Two floors again, upper floor is a walk around balcony, perfect for doing drugs or something. I find many guys are scared to go there even on tuesdays, but girls come out in full flock. Again noisy so use your dancefloor game unless you're at the bar. Cover/age group: see venue. http://www.celebritiesnightclub.com/phot...o-5278.jpg dress to impress guys. http://www.celebritiesnightclub.com/phot...o-5289.jpg typical GYURLZZZ NIGHT OUTTT”!!111
your challengers appear http://www.celebritiesnightclub.com/phot...o-5288.jpg

Library square: downtown. Friday is 90's night. I once saw a brawl to backstreets back by the backstreet boys there. However college girls ie. Fly girls born in the 90s LOVE that shit, the layout is cool, a small dancefloor with tables. I found that most of the girls there were there with a huge group so again it is hard to single one out. I think 80s night is saturday or something, usually its themed. http://images.clubzone.com/photos/gallery/26122/2c.jpg yo what're you majoring in bro?
http://images.clubzone.com/photos/gallery/26122/4c.jpg they want your alpha dick.
http://images.clubzone.com/photos/gallery/26122/7c.jpg ive got so much soul I'm clenching my fists in case any of these fly hunnies try to jump my bones.

Gossip: beside the casino, kind of out of the way, i think its pretty big, never been. Probably similar to venue. I think a lot of asian girls go here.

Caprice: never been, but a guy I know described it as such: “dude don't go, its like 300 and you're the greeks”

There are tons more nightclubs, but these are just the ones I usually go to.

Bars: vancouver has some good bars, usually full of older people 25-30. Cougar central.

The Blarney Stone: roll here suited down and the bitches will love you and you'll get in free. Anyways. $12 cover, sometimes 2for1 shots. Lots of girls go there because its fun and they like to dance, I don't remember much but I had some successful approaches and one of my friends got a bang. The vibe there is fun and playful. All the older dudes sit at the tables upstairs and around the dancefloors... with the cougars.

Ceilis: super fun people, half is a bar half is a club where they have a live band playing shitty tunes and then a dj. Lots of girls, but most of them are on th euglier side of the scale, usually DTF though. Grease the bartenders and you'll get free drinks all night.

Gentlemans clubs: there are 3 main ones here in vancouver.

The penthouse: I swear the dancers were like 40, its mostly dudes who are ancient and work construction going there to see some ass. I wouldn't go.

The Number 5 Orange: - main and powell. 2 blocks down from east hastings and main, the worst part of town its mostly drug addicted homeless people, ive heard the homeless with mental health problems roll downtown on the wessyde. Its not a big deal to walk around though because there is constant police presence. ANYWAYS. This place has full touching lap dances (but who needs those). The dancers are hot, but they have this weird blacklight deal going on, make sure you dont have lint on your clothes. Usually packed.

Brandis:
the classiest joint, the girls were walking around in heels and white greek looking dresses when I went. All of them were smoking hot. The dancers each had pretty funny themes: ghetto girl, 80s rock girl, native girl etc. Seems like a place where an international playboy would go to swoop exotic dancers.

Resturants and Businesses:

City Cigar: kind of by granville island (a great place for fresh food), its the biggest cigar emporium in vancouver, they have EVERYTHING, hookas, loose tobacco, pipes, humidors and every type of cigar imaginable. Go here if you smoke at all, enough said.

Vijs: best restruant i've been to in a while, Indian place with great service, on the more expensive side.

Uncle Fatihs Pizza: best pizza in existence, at the brodway/commercial skytrain. Take a hipster girl here to get their potato pizza and she'll be blowing you by the time you guys get back on your fixie bikes.

39th and Cambie bc liquor store: its the bc liquor signature store, great for finding any type of liquor you want.

East is east: indian food for the SWPL people, dinner and a drink will be about $30/person, service is good, sweet vibe on the inside. Check it out if youre into a chill atmosphere indian food and a weird band playing.

Japadog: super overpriced japanese inspired hot dogs, from a food cart. Tasty.

Places to see:

Rogers arena: big concerts and Canucks games are held here, know some basic hockey stuff everyones into it around here.

Whistler: there are closer mountains but nothing compares to whistler. Only a 2 hr bus ride or 1.5 hr drive.

Stanley Park: day game some athletic girls along the sea wall and instadate them to the aquarium, the beach, or whatever. Usually older fitter chicks running or biking. Main beach spot for the summer.

Wreck beach: this place truly is a sight. I'd be experienced in “swooping topless girls on the beaches of spain” before you try game here. Lots of cute girls, lots of beasts, and lots of fat old dudes with small dicks. Hippies everywhere http://www.thegmanifesto.com/2007/08/gre...-time.html works extremely well here, as with pretty much anywhere else.

North vancouver/capilano suspension bridge: a cool sight, sweet hikes on this side of town.

Gastown: kinda cool down here, super touristy, might be able to swoop some tourist girls. Don't wander too far or you'll hit east hastings.

Is Vancouver really the marijuana capital it's made out to be?

I wouldn't say its AS extreme as some people make it, but there are a lot of convenience stores where you can buy wicked bongs, pipes and other stuff. Theres a place run by the marijuana party (political party) called the vapour lounge, a few bucks and you can smoke on their vaporizers all day. Sometimes you'll smell/see people just smoking in public in midday. The cops don't really mind all that much too, the worst I've heard happen is the cop took the weed for himself. There are a lot of dealers so it isn't hard to get some either.

Great data sheet WC, +1 from me!

Vancouver is indeed a beautiful city, one of my favorites in Canada, I remember walking around Granville, down to Stanley Park and thinking to myself, "damn, I could live in this city for sure".

For the most part, Vancouver is a very classy city, people dress well when they are out on a Saturday night. I didn't find the night life to be great, but I only stayed in the city for 4 days so I didn't get to see all that it has to offer.

Van city for sure has some of the best pot out there, check out Marc Emery's Cannibas Culture in downtown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaADb_oQ-BA

Then take a walk to "Canada's poorest postal code" on East Hastings Street, I've never seen so much riff raff in my life!

This is my hood. Been here off and on for over a decade.

Gastown is by far the most underated hood in Vancouver. No other place in the city can touch it. You just need to know where to go. Some places do not even "advertise". A lot of places have hidden rooms. One even allows smoking.

I know a few cats who have opened up lounges here in the past three years and are killing it. There is a push to keep the "frat boys, douches, suburban bro crews" out of here. Gtown drops the bait with some "token" spots to suck in all the riff raff. Bait and switch, they are happy because they get a night out in a cool hood, locals are happy because we can bust it down and not have our ratios skewed. These tribes can ruin a place in moments. Look at Yaletown.

Not to punch too many holes in the data sheet, and perhaps you are young, but overlooking Coal Harbour, Gastown, Yaletown are some major holes.

Good "Vancouver General" data sheet though.

Criticism taken, I roll into typical university kid spots so my data is kind of skewed to that demographic. I'd love to hear about some of the places around there as I haven't explored the city as much as I'd have wanted to this far into my Vancouver career.

Vancouver Data Sheet

Alright I have a bit more data from the past few weeks.

Nightclub: Post-Modern
[Image: 1.jpg]
I went suited down for a big birthday party we had a group of 30 people and only the birthday girl got a discount in. usually places do 2 for 1 cover for big groups. $16 cover (pretty steep) didn't buy any drinks but I'd imagine they are expensive. Layout is 2 floors, weird bathroom setup. Every guy in there was wearing a Vneck so I'd suggest something else to stand out. Typical dance-club where you grab a random drunk chick and get your grind on. I didn't really like it, they played weesh songs from the early 2000s and the dancefloor layout seemed kinda claustrophobic. Girls are ok, a lot of asian girls, girls are dressed nicer than other places, but clump together in big groups waiting for you to snap one of them up. Guys stand around the outside looking awkward.

Restaurants:
Campagnolo
1020 Main street about a 5 minute walk from the main street skytrain. One of the worst areas of town, but no one really hassles you except for a few bucks. I'd bring a few bucks to give to homeless people if you think they wont spend it on crack. There is also parking behind the place or on the street.
- Interior: big slabs of cedar and stone for the roof/walls, nice shyt. Not a lot of seating, but the place is small so it'd probably be easy to lockdown, the staff is nice too. There are 2 corner booths that make perfect escalation spots.
- Food: probably $30/person. non-traditional italian cuisine. i had a salami plate (tasty) and a pizza. They have a bunch of pizzas thin crust minimal toppings, tasty. A+ for the food.
I recommend this place.

Calhoun's Bakery/Cafe
Located in kits/point grey 3035 W.Brodway. This girl instadated me to there from a bar because she said they had dope cheesecake. The cheesecake was alright, they have other desserts, typical cafe fair and alcohol. Decently priced and open good hours. The clientele is nearly entirely university students. There are tables all over the place with girls working on their laptops all by themselves. Tables are close together. I could see this being a good daygame/work spot. You can park down with a drink bust out your laptop and talk to the girl at the table next to you, maybe get alcoholic drinks later to celebrate her finishing her essay or something.

East is East
A few blocks west (on brodway) from calhouns. They were giving out free samples of food so I chatted up the girl handing the food out and ended up eating the whole plate. I've been there before. Its really cool inside, Indian food, good use of spices. A meal is probably 20-30. The seating is kind of weird, but it could be a good place for a date with a girl from the area. They also have an outdoor window selling milkshakes that are made with indian spices super tasty. They're $5 good on a hot day. Hot waitresses, cool interior. Another recommendation.

Good call on this place. I like it a lot as well, and you know the food must be good if it manages to stay open in such a shit neighborhood. Hipsters do not eat there.

Some tips on Post Modern.

Only go there if there is a promotion on (Bacardi or Sky) as you can sweet talk the promo girls there really easy. They are hired to promote "social interaction" and cannot help but getting caught up in it themselves. Also free drinks.

My friend used to own this club but is in prison for a while but it must be leased to the Donolly family now. My friend promoted "free shit" all the time there, which is rare in Vancouver so make sure to take advantage of this Western!

Another good restaurant in the ghetto is Au Petit Chavignol, on East Hastings at Hawkes (Strathcona).

KOKO
A little further down (East Hastings at Lakewood) is the best Japanese place in Vancouver. Its a secret among the Nikkei community (the place is also second generation Japanese) as having the best valued sushi in the city. The family that owns it flies the fish in from the Haida Gwaii where they have a fishing lodge. The Four Seasons buys their fish.

Hands down the best Sake Sushi (Salmon) I have ever had.

best japanese place in vancouver, koko??? you gotta be kidding me. Its a secret to nobody its been around forever, if im right it was the first real sushi joint in vancouver, its a legacy to van sushi and its fresh and solid sushi but unspectacular. Its a relic thats time has passed and you see it with the crowd that goes, or lack there of. With a million little places you find so many hidden gems that blow this place away, ajisai is one of my personal faves small little place thats unfortunately taken off and built a massive following, but tojos is the best sushi in town by a good distance but choices like toshis, miku, guu blow koko away, and thats all in vancouver get outside of vancouver into burnaby, richmond, coquitlam and you find places that are half the price and put out just as solid food then you get to modern places like the eatery that offer up some twists on traditional japanese. Im not knocking Koko in terms of delivering a solid dining experience but if you're looking for better Japanese food in Vancouver, there are better options, if you're looking for comparable to better thats a better bang for the buck, theres those too, so I cant justify bothering with that place anymore. I'm a sushi junkie, at least 5 days a week for me. Im jonesing bad for any sushi right now, this shit they call sushi in thailand is unedible. Sushi box, fuji sushi, come on I cant even describe the taste of the tuna I had the other day, felt like i put an eraser into my mouth, I just spat it out and asked for an exchange lol.

Arguing "Best Sushi In Vancouver" is like arguing "Best Beer". Its often not worth wasting the time, but I end up in the arguments anyways (I hang with lots of Nikkei and they love talking about food).

I hold my ground best salmon sushi and gyoza is Koko.

Tojos fails over its own celebrity status. When I was doing work with a Japanese fashion agency the Vancouver studio would take the Japanese guests to Tojos to impress them. They were appreciative but on their own would often end up at places like Shiro on Cambie for sushi. Dont get me wrong, I think Tojos has the best Uni I have had outside of Tokyo, but I wont go there for sushi. I would rather go to a place like Octopus Garden for a place in that price range. Even Blue Water Cafe (which is my favorite seafood place in Vancouver) does not have as good sushi as smaller Japanese places that have a line on good, fresh northern fish.

You seem to like the places that put western flair into the Japanese food, and that is cool as Vancouver is definitely creating its own style. Places like Guu and Alpha (my favorite "fusion" place) or even Hapa do better fusion food than the business district joints.

I am in Sweden and sushi is popular and I end up at few cool places in Stockholm or Malmo but I have to hide my tears when I eat it. The quality of fish is just no where near as good in Europe as it is in the northern Pacific. Props for trying, the places are very cool but the sushi is only edible.

Yeah its the French charcuterie place. Really good if you are into that sort of food (I am).

Koko is $20 for the assorted sushi (I always toss in an extra 4 salmon nigiri).

my first thoughts on Van:

tall buildings
tall women (mostly in good shape, and well dressed, but somehow they give off an unsexy 'masucline' vibe, much more so than any place in europe i've been, even sweden and denmark)
tall prices
bizarre mix of very friendly people and somewhat ignorant types who brush past you as if you're not there, almost nobody makes eye contact as you walk by them on the street, i've really noticed this here
cafes

It does seem like Vancouver has only got the somewhat masculine "oudoorsy" type of woman you may be reffering to, or the trashy "Jersey Girl" type. The feminine, classy middle ground seems to be somewhat lacking.

I guess you have to understand where you are. Vancouver is on the edge of the mountain wilderness. If you fly in from Europe during daylight it's incredible. The pilot anounces he's starting the decsent and when you look out the window all you see are mountains, trees and snow to the horizon. Maybe a dirt track if you are lucky. So the outdoors are a very big part of the city. Also, it is a very new city, so you can't really expect it to be some sort of cultural mecca with high-brow arty girls.

At least they did give the world yogapants, since Lululemon is a local company, so something highlighting the female form has come out of the city.

PS: Not trying to offend people from NJ. The girls from there I met in NYC were actually quite sweet. Not at all like the media stereotype.

I agree with the masculine vibe, the way girls/guys dress and walk makes it hard for me to distinguish if there really are even 2 genders in the city. One good thing about this I guess is that when you see a feminine girl you can tell more easily and its that much better when you bang her.

Although it may have changed for the worse since I was there, Vancouver has nothing on Toronto when it comes to avoiding eye contact.

maybe i was a bit harsh in my previous post
we had some sun in recent days, in fact it hasn't rained in a few days now, and the background of the snow topped mountains is truly majestic
had some interaction with some locals a couple of days ago on my way to a gig in main st.
had no idea where the venue was, so i stopped the first couple of girls that walked past
one was an ok looking asian girl, nothing special really, a 5 i guess, the other girl was a beauty, easily an 8, long dark black hair, quite dark skinned, a mixed race indian girl i think
both girls were friendly, but the 8 was particularly friendly
they walked with myself and my colleague (i won't call him a wing cos he was useless in that respect) most of the way and i (kinda stupidly) mentioned the gig was starting at 8 and that we had to split, as neither girl seemed in any hurry to leave us..
i could have asked them if they fancied meeting for a drink and got the digits
still, as someone who's rarely tried day gaming chicks before, it brought home to me just how easy it is to chat to girls in the daytime, just asking for directions is a perfect conversation opener, working the 'exotic foreigner' angle thing or even the 'i'm not from around here' angle definitely works in your favour
