Awesome. Thanks Guys. Checkin this all out now. I've been checking out Karmaloop as well. Just going through their gear seems like a good place to get ideas. Here is some of the stuff I liked. All winter shit since it is cold as balls here right now lol. What do you guys think of all this?

Prom my fave is the two below.

I don't know if my fashion sense is off from the general consensus but to me all of those looks are terrible.

The way I consider fashion is that you're trying to say something, so first figure out what you are trying to say then attempt to do it with your clothes.
For example you may want to say I'm rich, I'm youthful, I'm in great shape etc. What are these styles above saying? I'm really not sure, they all just look kind of casual and loose fitting, maybe they're just saying I'm warm.

If you look at some of the pics in the other thread some of the better looks are representing a high status wealthy guy.

I try to keep it to 2 colors. Anything more than that and it starts to look fruity. You can sneak by with 3 colors if the colors are all dark ones. My main color is usually black but I pick one thing to stand out like different colored pants. You don't have to spend a lot of money. You just have to pick the right style that works for you and make sure you get the pants hemmed properly. You can substitute a white dress shirt for the black shirt.

These are some of my basics:

Dark blue jeans, black dress shirt, black jacket, black shoes, black belt.

Dark blue jeans, dark plum dress shirt, black jacket, black shoes, black belt.

Chocolate brown khakis, black dress shirt, black jacket, black shoes, black belt.

Olive green khakis, black dress shirt, black jacket, black shoes, black belt.

Black khakis, black dress shirt, brown leather jacket, black shoes, black belt.

I'm trying to get more into lighter more natural earthy tones and brown leathers and shoes. Darker colors are easier to mix and match. Lighter and earthier colors have lots of different tints and shades are are a little tougher to put together. I'm working on it.

I'm far from being GQ but I do get approached when I go out and complimented on my style. The nicest compliment a girl gave me one time was, "You look like you're famous". I'll take it [Image: wink.gif]

What do you guys think about what this guy's wearing?

My gaydar kind of goes off on this one, but at the same time he could also be the type of guy who gets a lot of poontang without having to pull off the über-male persona. This works better off in big cities, where sharp wit, given the right audience, can make it wet.

Dude is kinda faggy and so is his style. Dress like a man. Don't dress like a man trying to dress like a woman.

If you're an artist or musician you can pull off shit like that. Regular guys shouldn't bother.

Critique, advise, or give some tips.

Wolf sorry but with that dress sense i'm guessing you're American! [Image: smile.gif]

Why are you wearing a striped shirt underneath a checked shirt?. Why are your jeans half way up your waist?.

You could also do with hitting the gym a bit more, then your clothes will hang on your much better

Just being honest

Actually I'm Eastern European.

I have no sense of style that is why I made this thread.

I think the reason my clothes look too big for me is because I lost 25 lbs this year. I think when I put the weight back on my clothes will look better on me.

Karmaloop is quite overpriced, If you really want to get a look like that down then you need to hit up some Boutiques in NYC, CHI, SF or LA. You'll might pay a little more, or less but the best thing is you'll be able to get your threads tailored as well as acquire limited designs etc. IMO NYC is the best place for boutique shops when it comes to threads, you don't have to shop downtown in the high end spots to get a good wardrobe, there are some great spots uptown.

That's obviously at some sort of runway show, so I'd imagine that the likelihood of him being gay is pretty high. How many straight dudes work in fashion or go to fashion shows?

That said, it's just a suit with a v-neck, albeit a preposterously low plunging v-neck. Russell Brand can wear shit like that, maybe not other people so much, but I'm not sure if the clothing itself makes him gay.

It all depends on what you're trying to project, and what you're trying to accomplish. The #1 trick is to be congruent and interesting, project an image, it almost doesn't matter what that image is as long as it's convincing.

Just don't be one more guy in jeans and a gray flannel with a nondescript haircut. Blending in sucks, STAND OUT, but stand out for the right reasons.

Fitted Tees and Jeans, mostly. I'm a simple guy with simple clothes I suppose. The button down is played out unless its a NICE button down and this player doesn't have nice button down money at the moment lol.

I think the dude is the actor from the UK show "Doctor Who". He's dating the chick next to him...she's model Daisy Lowe. If you google her she's modelled for all the high end stuff...

Style like his is huge in London. You're right on the Russel Brand thing. I guess it started with musicians and such in Brick lane, Camden, Hoxton etc. Now it's pretty high street in the U.K....although maybe in smaller towns you'd still look a bit gay unless you were in a band or that sort of social circle.

Chad, How do you get your tees to fit just right? Do you get your tees around the arm tailored/seamstress? Do you do it yourself?

I have monkey arms (SUPER long), and it's impossible to ever find tees that fit me around the arms. I was actually thinking of doing it myself or finding someone who can do it. I already work out so I don't want to hear hit the weights. Thanks!

I found one brand that fits and just stuck with it (American Rag)

I have long arms and I'm barrel chested, shirts rarely fit me right bu the AR fitted tees seem to work very well for me.

Some girls love chest hair though? Are they in the minority?

Hell no. It's definitely an asset, as long as it's not creeping up your neck.
