I spent a week in Lviv last summer and liked it:

Accomodation, food, going out is all cheap and of good quality but the city itself does not look cheap. It has a beautiful historal center in which everything you need is located. So there's no need for taxi's because you can walk everywhere.

People in Ukraine were very welcoming and honest. For example I lost my wallet because of drinking too much vodka and someone found it and gave it to the waiter, who gave it back with all the money still inside. Girls look good and are friendly. However they weren't interested in one night stands or short term adventures. Also there are low budget flights from Turkey filled with horny guys. They behave different than the Turks in western Europe but I didn't know what to make of it. Still their presence was slightly annoying and I tried to avoid places where they congregate. I went to other cities in Ukraine without Turks and in these cities girls seemed less on guard and gave better male to female ratio's in clubs.

Club game didn't give me good results because the best looking girls get hit on a lot. I did make friends with a mixed group from Odessa which had 4 sexy girls. I don't know why but these guys were very welcoming and non protective of their women. So befriending Ukrainian guys can pay off.

Tinder worked very well and gave me 1 notch with a beautiful girl and street game is easy becuase girls are friendly. I pretended that I needed to find a way to some place and a lot of times they would walk me to that exact spot.

The level of English is higher than in the more eastern parts of Ukraine or smaller cities. Lviv also gets a decent amount of European tourists besides Turks so they will not be overwhelmed by your presence.

I have been recently in Lviv as well, various times over the last years. Unfortunately never had a chance to go during summer.
The presence of Turks is a huge problem for the nightlife since they have the control of many environments and are willing to spend tons of money for the girls. In the last months the Turkish Lira depreciated quite badly against Dollar hence it might impact the presence of them. Nightlife is quite bad there, like anywhere in Ukraine excluded Kiev and maybe the Eastern part. While the city itself is cheap, going out in the night is more expensive than in Poland.
Didn't check out online game, but according to my friends, this was useless.
I suppose that day game is the way to go over there, unfortunately last time I had to deal with bad weather and rainy days and it wasn't the best. I suggest you to find a student bar near the university area, take a coffee, sit and wait. There will likely be some nice girl sitting next and you can start the conversation pretty easily.
Overall being a foreigner from a western and wealthy country is still a big advantage, just be sure to shave properly in order to avoid that the girls think that you are the n-Turk (I saw some Turks and Arabs telling girls that they were Italian or Spanish). Remember girls who were reticent to contribute to the conversation until the moment I mentioned my nationality. Make sure also to dress well, the homeless look of the typical Anglo-Saxon tourist doesn't help there.
The city is small and walkable and it might happen to meet the same people around.
City on the way of degradation also, due to the new Ryanair flights from next October, but fortunately I will also have a good flight to cut the time to get there.

So I don't get it. (honest ignorance here) What's up with the Turks? I know that they had a bad rap in Germany as well. My German girlfriend(legs for days) at the time absolutely hated them. I need some sort of story or example of the behavior to look out for. If it's just spending money that they have in their favor, that's easy to overcome. If it's active cock blocking or aggression that's another story. In short what in particular am I on the lookout for with them?

This place will be shit in few years. I went there 5 years ago and it was all good but as of June 2017, Ukraine and Turkey had a deal for visa-free movement. Citizens of Ukraine and Turkey don't even need passport to travel, ID will be enough.

Within first month, Turks especially in Lviv, bought over 4,000 apartments as an investment. It will be filled with them and ruin the city.

As for the young male Turks in Germany (and we have LOTS of them, the Turks are the largest group of foreigners in all Western German cities and Berlin): many or most of them are known to be badly educated (both in terms of parenting as well as in regard to their school grades and diplomas), work poor jobs if any at all, mostly hang around in large groups on the streets, shopping malls, nightlife spots and seedy areas, aggressively starting fights with the ethnic German guys for no reason, conducting crime such as beating up or knifing people and sexually assaulting or raping girls, hating the local/German population for no reason in general, and in general just being a pain in the ass to society. That's how the larger bulk of them are seen by most young Germans, male and female alike.

Exceptions like the picture-perfect good grades university student young Turk with mainly German friends apply, but are just so rare. Young Turks here play mainly the "ghetto" style, so imagine the bad areas of Baltimore or Detroit, just with Turks instead of Blacks.

I spent the weekend in Lviv a couple weeks back and could count the number of Turks I saw on two hands, a stark contrast to Kiev. I agree with the original info provided in this thread - super low bitch shields and the quality was still high.

Absolutely loved my time there, hope to get back before summer ends because daygame was a different experience - people are just less caught up in the rat race, girls included. Not sure how Lviv fairs when university is out, maybe I'll wait until September to head back.

If you stay for more than a few days, it could get boring though. Even saw a couple RSD types shotgun approaching, and the center has tons of western tourists per square meter. Whatevs, great town.

Turkey and Ukraine have had a visa-free arrangement for years as far as i'm aware.

This is not visa-free. It's passport-free, like you would go from Spain to Italy. They dont even need passport to go to Ukraine from Turkey and vice versa. All you need is ID.

My uncle bought apartment from Lviv 2 years ago for $23,000 and he gets rent $290 per month. He recommended a real estate agent for me and I spoke with him last week. I'll be going there to buy an apartment as well but he told me that prices went up little bit because of the Turks. Because they bought a lot of apartments from Kiev and Lviv.

Also, Ukraine citizens are free to go to EU without visa as of today. They dont need visa anymore to visit EU member countries.

Around 8-9 hours from Krakow. Border time clocked in around 45 minutes total for both sides. This was from Poland into Ukraine.

Had a friend recently go via Ukraine to Poland, took around 3-4 hours to cross the border due to a paperwork/bribe issue.

There is clearly some development going on, as indicated in the article, but on a careful reading I think boomtown is overstating it. There are many IT workers in Lviv, yet the migration to Poland in particular of young professionals is a major drain. The article indicates that although major international hotel chains have been investigating Lviv, they are reluctant to pull the trigger. On top of Ryanair pulling out of their planned Lviv route recently.

On balance I think Lviv is not quite on the point of being swept up into the mainstream of Europe. There is some progress, and the women are not some untouched resource immune to the trends in the rest of the world, but it will remain a backwater for a while.

Lviv has changed massively in last few years, loads more tourists, hotels, cafes, restaurants springing up everywhere. Not only more Turks but more Westerners also, school groups from Germany etc.

The club scene when I was there was diabolical when you compare to rest of Ukraine, loads of men, and girls who will take minimum of three dates for a fuck. The girls also have a superior attitude - "I'm from Lviv and I piss holy water", if you mention you went to Kiev they will say they hate it, if you mention Odessa they will also say the same.

Worth a couple of days visit, then get your ass to Kiev

The time of journey depends on the traffic at the border.

He shouldn´t have any issues with bribes.

i literally just did this trip both ways by bus. going into ukraine the border might take 2 hours max. leaving is a whole different story. even by bus that shit can take like 8-10 hours depending on the amount of border traffic and which point you go through.
