lol, I went into a pharmacy on two separate occasions in Chiang Mai and Bangkok and this happened:

Chiang Mai:

YMG: I'm having trouble sleeping, do you have any melatonin?

Lady: No sorry sir, only Xanax and Valium. Would you like those?

Bangkok:

YMG: Hello, I am having trouble recovering from my boxing training, do you have any protein powder?

Lady: No sorry sir, only testosterone

Apparently, in addition to roids, this place also had HGH.

There are a ton of super jack Aussies in Phuket and now I can see why.....I guess if I was a pro bodybuilder, a place like Phuket would be an ideal spot.

What a nutty country......

I don't know about the girls or muay Thai, but there is really good jiu jitsu in Singapore. Check out bjj-Asia.com if you are looking to keep training. I believe Evolve mma would have good muay Thai trainers, and have awesome bjj, but is expensive.

Yeah I've looked into it and Evolve is definitely legit. However, as you mentioned, expensive as hell.

I'm looking into cheap fitness options that don't necessarily involve fighting. I can do without MMA for a year.

I've always found Parkour/tricking to be a solid fitness alternative to MMA. You can do it anywhere in the world (no gym/trainer required) and it will turn you into a monster.

Parkour.....interesting......never considered that an alternative.

Could actually be useful. In addition to fighting, running away in an urban environment could certainly be a useful skill.

Isn't Parkour French?

Lol, yeah.

I would totally recommend it, though. You'll be getting a really full workout (climbing, jumping, running) and it cultivates a problem solving mindset. The basic idea is to get from point A to point B as efficiently as possible. You're essentially learning to overcome any obstacles in your path. That idea will definitely spill over into other areas of life.

Well, it depends. I've been training parkour for almost 4 years now (2 times per week at least) and have only had 2 'serious' injuries (they were both sprained ankles). Both were because I attempted something I was really unsure of.

Assuming you aren't attempting ridiculous things in the beginning and spend a lot of time working the basics (how to properly land/absorb impact, roll, climb, etc.) you'll be fine.

CHiang Mai is not very well suited for this. I feel like Paris would be.

I used to be really into tricking, which is kind of like acrobatic martial arts. Just found my way into Parkour from there.

I've never been to Chiang Mai, but I bet there are spots to train there. In my hometown, I used to just train around the local college campus. All you really need is a decent set of obstacles. Any city should be fine.

I've done some running away in Chiang Mai before. lol Just watch your hands on walls though because a lot of the time they are crested with broken glass.

I recently made some comments on facebook about how I am not looking forward to moving to Singapore because of - cheaper living in Thailand, hotter chicks in Thailand, better muay thai in Thailand, and a range of other factors. I put a humorous but genuine comment about how I would not be looking forward to giving up Thai women for Singaporean women.

I then got a deluge of snarky, half pissed off but half joking, comments on that post from Singaporeans who were half-offended by that comment.

I've spent a total of about 3 weeks in Singapore in my life for various reasons. I remain absolutely committed to the idea that these women are the ugliest in the region - all the way from Mongolia to the very bottom tip of Indonesia.

Anyone who can comment otherwise would be welcome.

There is also a lot of "White Worship" going on there, which I think is a result of it being in the AngloSphere.

I envision a lot of trips to Thailand and the Philippines for myself in between weeks of 16 hour work days. I'll fly out on the cheap, crash at friends' pads, and just rail through 3-4 chicks in a 3-4 day weekend before going back to Singapore to get back on the grind.

I was last in singapore as a teenager, nearly 20 years ago.
There must have been a sea change is all I can say,as I remember there being lots of very sexy young Oriental girls there.
I'd like to go back!

I lived in Chiang Mai for about a year, as a white guy ( a sad and incurable condition YMG is not afflicted with [Image: wink.gif], so I thought I would comment as a white guy in Thailand)

It is certainly exceedingly possible for a good looking young white guy with decent game to do quite well with the best of the CM beauties, but YMG is correct to note that you operate under a disadvantage. To sum up - quite simply a smaller percentage of girls are open to foreigners than to Asian men. However, the percentage that is open to foreign men cuts across the entire beauty spectrum, from butt ugly to absolute beauty. So there are quite a few stunners that are perfectly willing to date foreign men. It is simply that you will have fewer opportunities than an Asian guy. There is even a percentage of hot girls who will prefer white foreign guys to Asian foreign guys. It was not uncommon for me to swoop girls who had Asian guys hitting on them. This group, though, is much smaller than the group who limit themselves exclusively to Asian men. Its also worth noting that the vast majority of white guys with Thai girls that you will see will be ugly, but that is more a reflection of the sad fact that Thailand does not attract anything close to the best of the white race.

This should not be controversial at all. Roosh has continually made a point of noting that it is always harder for a foreigner to get the best local women - Brazil, Colombia, it does not matter. Even in countries where you share the same race. It should come as no surprise, and be seen as quite in the natural order of things, that Asia is no exception. Its not a bad thing, it does not mean the locals hate you. It just expresses the natural human preference for those like us. Nor do white men have the least right to complain at all - Asian men have it much worse in white countries.

What this means is that Thailand is the best place for an Asian guy macking and the worst Asian country for a white guy macking, which MIGHT help explain why Japan and Korea and other parts of Asia get a much better class of white guy (the lack of quality white guys creates a bad reputation, the bad reputation repels quality white guys from staying. Its a vicious cycle. There are some signs it is breaking, though. Maybe an influx of roosh readers with game will help break the tide [Image: wink.gif] ) If you are an Asian guy, Thailand is your place. If you are a white guy, Thailand can still be great fun but you will do much better elsewhere (which is not necessarily a reason to go elsewhere, you can still do well in Thailand and the country is funner than many other parts of Asia).

Based on where YMG says he is picking up, (SNOP and Ratchada in general, make up sales girls, and hotel receptionists), this is a class of girl that is quite open to white guys in general, and while an Asian guy would for sure have a larger pool to choose from, it would not be enormously greater. Generally these girls are socially lower-middle-class, quite respectable but at the lower end of the respectability scale, and in terms of looks are generally 5s-6s with the occasional rare 7 thrown in for good measure. Cute and sweet girls to be sure, but where it gets really tough for a white guy is at the upper end of the beauty and class scale, which is not represented amongst hotel receptionists and make up girls (beauty is much more closely tied to wealth and social status in Thailand than in the West). Asians have a much huger advantage here socially, but you still have to have lots to offer - you cant just show up and be Asian and expect to snoop the best quality. Thats a fantasy.

The best way for a white to gain access to the most beautiful girls is to have high status Thai male friends. This opens doors like you would not believe. You still have to be an attractive guy, but suddenly girls who had little interest in you are all over you. Clearly upper class Thai girls with white guys, by the way, suffer no suspicion of being prostitutes, but are still under tremendous social pressure to marry Thai, or at least Asian.

MG claims this applies to Asia as a whole, but in my experience this preference for Asian men exists more strongly in Thailand than in any other Asian country. At the opposite spectrum lies Japan, where a good looking white guy will have infinitely better chances than a non-Japanese Asian guy. The rest of Asia falls somewhere in between, with apparently Singapore being a bit of an outlier with what YMG describes as white love. A friend of mine who would intermittently hook up with white skinned beauties in Thailand moved to Taiwan, where he was able to have a succession of beautiful girlfriends the likes of which it was simply much harder for him to line up in Thailand on a regular basis.

Another thing to note is that many girls who wont date white men, are nevertheless eager for sex with them. Dating carries with it all sorts of social baggage that just does not apply to semi-clandestine one night stands. NEVER trust what Asian men tell you about your opportunities with the local girls (Roosh mentioned this in connection with Polish men. It is universally applicable). Many of the girls will NEVER admit to being open to sex with a foreigner because of the possible stigma, but will be quite eager to do so. Trust me, I know [Image: wink.gif]

What else? While being Asian makes Thailand easier for you, it does not make it fantastic. For instance a white guy will have an infinitely easier time of it in any white country, say, but that does not mean that a beta white guy will be hooking up with the hottest girls.

Cheers, and enjoy Thailand! It is a great place!

Thanks for the report charachter1, I'm headed over there soon. Do you speak much Thai? Is it more difficult in CM if you don't speak much Thai than other parts of Thailand?

Thanks for your comments character1. It's refreshing to have an honest discussion about race and dating overseas without it being emotional or trollish. [Image: wink.gif] The character of a lot of Westerners in Thailand is certainly less than appealing, so I can understand the dating stigmas.

Most guys who travel there don't even realize this issue exists. I always find it funny listening to guys that walk around with unattractive women who are obviously prostitutes or freelancers rant and rave about how beautiful and easy the women are here. Argue with them on this point and be prepared to have them look at you like you're a lunatic - not a clue. [Image: smile.gif]

I'm really intrigued with Japan and want to spend some serious time there. Not because of the dating dynamics, but that certainly doesn't hurt.

@charachter1 - solid advice.

Thailand is a peculiar destination when it comes to Asia in general. There is a lot of stigma attached to dating a white dude mostly because of Thailand's huge sex tourism.

Being a white skinned Chinese in Thailand is a huge plus mainly because the Chinese or mixed Thai/Chinese pretty much control most of the economy there, and automatically assume upper/high class upbringing.

Even though there's a big Japanese/Korean sex tourism in Thailand, they participate in a more subdued way. You wont see a Japanese parading a dark skinned peasant along Sukhumvit like a lot of white burnouts there.

The tip about a Thai male guy is gold. If you have a solid Thai wing (preferably half Chinese too), there's almost no barriers for a white dude either.

I also agree on Taiwan or Singapore being extra white friendly. For me, as a blond guy, I still find Indonesia hard to beat when it comes to easiness of meeting upper class birds (I haven't been to Philippines). On the other hand, Chinese in Indonesia are at big disadvantage.
