I am curious. Would you guys identify members of your close families as being NPCs? It seems my father is one of them, maybe not completely though.

I think the NPC meme is most effective aimed at ordinary people, not celebrities. We need like a Boss NPC for those. The TV personalities are not NPCs, they're the one's giving NPCs their programming.
The NPC meme imo loses some effectiveness when applied to media personalities. It is good to use with celebrities like Taylor Swift, because they are products and marketing.
It hits the hardest when it is aimed at the "bigot/racist/sexist/transphobist" spambot of social media. We shouldn't put them into the same category as media personalities, this would lessen the effectiveness. It seems like there's some normie adopter inflation going on with the meme now. I hope it doesn't burn out too quickly.

Media people like Wolfowitz, Vanderbilt from CNN, Jon Leibowitz, Bill Maher, these are very intelligent people who full know what they're doing. They're inner party, at least the first 3, Maher is more of an other party. Orwell talked about the inner party being experts at Double Think, being able to hold NPC programming, while at the same time understanding it to be false, without any cognitive dissonance.
What I like about the NPC meme though is not as a "stupid liberal" slur, but to target exactly those go-along-to-get-along types, make them stop and think "am I an NPC?" and then down the rabbit hole.
