012 Election: Who do you think will win?
10-16-2011, 06:39 PM
For now, I'll refrain from calling Cain an Uncle Tom. I think that's a word that is way overused and there should be damn good reason before making such an accusation. I don't know what Cain's record is regarding black affairs. He has made some comments I don't like saying that blacks have basically been brainwashed by the Democratic party. Many black conservatives have this sort of condescending view towards blacks. They see themselves as iconoclasts who have somehow "freed" themselves from the plantation by joining the Republican party. Whatever. Most blacks don't vote Republican because Republican economic policies generally make life tougher for the poor and blacks are disproportionately poor. And there has always been a culture of racism amongst conservatives and Republicans that can't be denied. They do have a history of appealing to bigots whether we're talking about the "southern strategy" of the 60s up to the Tea Party(most of whom will vote Republican even though they claim to be independent).
Any black running for the Republican party who expects support from conservative whites basically has to appear "raceless". He can't make much mention of his race or racism. It will alienate whites who think racism is a dead issue and are sick of hearing about it from whiny blacks. If Cain started talking about it, he could kiss any hope of the nomination goodbye. Even Obama is very limited in the way he can approach the issue. Look at how is numbers tanked with whites right after the Henry Louis Gates incident. Many blacks feel Obama distances himself from black affairs and it's probably true. And that's because any black that seems "too black" will be unelectable.

Cain is going to win the Republican nomination and the Presidency. alot of republican blacks will vote for Cain
I agree. That will only account for about four to five votes though, doesn't seem like enough to win.
I think he will get a much bigger percentage of the black vote then most people realize.

My 5 questions for herman will be :
1. 11 months ago you were against any type of national retail sales tax( (a variation of the Vat tax),... how is that any different from your 9-9-9 plan?
2.18 months ago he made a statement on his radio show that a majority of the american people were not in favor of the President's health care act , and therefore congress should repeal health care. My question to him will be:
If the american people are not in favor of any of your policies, will you t agree to have them all repealed? (dumb fuck)
3. He has stated over and over again that he is a compassionate conservative. My question to him will be:
So , Herman, you are compassionate , yet conservative...when you talk about building a real border fence, with barbed wire, that has the capability to electrocute anyone that touches the fence on the other side, how compassionate do you think that sounds?
4. Since we all paid to bail out the very institutions that cause the financial crisis, why have you not advocated not one penalty or investigation of said individuals or financial institution?
5. In early 2008 , both you and Mitt Romney vehemently opposed the bail out for the big 3 auto companies. With all three(3) companies being profitable now, (because of the bailout you opposed) do you have any regrets about your statements?
Don't know if Neil will allow me to fire them all off, since Herman is long-winded.

Cain's 9-9-9 plan sounds hard to implement. I don't think he really thought about it.

No one other than Romney or Perry will win the R nomination. Probably Romney. When it happens, I will gleefully point back at this post with an "I told you so." How they are polling now is mainly irrelevant.
To think that Herman Cain could win the nomination is ludicrous and shows a lack of observation of US politics over the last several elections.
Romney will probably give Obama more trouble than Perry, although Perry would almost certainly win the south, which could give Barry fits.
If Perry wins the nom, it will probably come down to who wins Virginia and maybe a few other states. If Romney wins, the south will be more up for grabs, but Virginia will still matter, as will Iowa, Colorado, and a few of the rust belt states.

As much as I would love to see Ron Paul win, the media simply won't allow him to get his voice heard. There's been a complete media blackout about his campaign. I can't believe something like this is happening in modern America.
That said, I'm calling Rick Perry on this one. I'd put money on it.

I just watched the end of the debates and some highlights.
Here is my opinion on the Republican Field:
Rick Santorum - Typical tough talking, no heart politician. Dork.
Michelle Bachmann - Talking about her is beneath me.
Rick Perry - Just too dumb. You could throw a cowboy boot in Texas and hit a smarter redneck than this guy.
Mitt Romney - For lack of a better term, he is a beta b*tch. Calling for Anderson Cooper when he and Perry were getting into it. This guy was the snitch on the playground when you were a kid.
Herman Cain - Funny. But until I hear a decent reason why he stayed inside during the Civil Rights Movement, he is a coward. An an unapologetic coward at that. This guy was the coward who didn't have your back when things got a little hot on the playground when you were a kid.
Ron Paul - The best of the field by far, although no one will let him speak. A little too frail.
Conclusion:
I wouldn't let anyone of these people (except Ron Paul) take me to dinner let alone want them as President of my country.
Is this really the best we got?

Here is a guy who made is own way against adversity, succeeding in school, getting educated at the country's best colleges, without help from anyone. Not getting "free stuff", not lazy, and all the other canards you recycle without anything concrete to back it up. All of the pull yourself up by your own bootstraps stuff that you say that you stand far. Then instead of cashing on on his ivy league education, he contributes to his community. And you ridicule him for that? In theory he should be a right-winger's dream. He actually did what you say you stand for.

Head Cheerleader comment.
yeah, my bad G, i'm wrong, it really is a good idea to put a guy in charge of the country who doesn't have the executive experience necessary to run a McDonalds, or to put a guy in charge of a country w/huge financial problems who doesnt know what a P/E ratio is, and couldnt stop keep himself out of debt until his book blew up and his wife got a 300% raise for no reason. hope and change baby, hope and change.

Obama is nothing more than a creature bred by the education system in America. He is a total product of the institution. He made it to top schools because of affirmative action. His college publications are trash, most of the posters on this forum are better authors than him.
He played his whole life of filling in the "successful black man" role that the white left loves; obama has no soul, no charecter. Just a bunch of empty platitudes.
G - I wouldn't vote for anyone except ron paul, and I see no reason not to.

Well, I think that either Perry or Romney are going to win the nomination. The others are just falling behind in terms of exposure.
Now, can Perry or Romney beat Obama?
I think either one can if the economy doesn't improve. In fact, if the economy worsens, then Obama is toast regardless of who wins the repub nomination.
