How long of a drive across a country before its considered a real country?

@Steve McQueen.
Of all the things to be offended by.
I don't think anyone was secretly trying to take down your heritage by method of excursion brevity.
Irishmen are supposed to get upset if people say their poets suck, not when someone mentions in passing that there are short driving times on a small island.
Anyway, the Irish accent changes completely every twenty miles or so, so it might as well be a thousand miles across.

Hah - Liechtenstein, Hong Kong, Singapore - all small nations - all of them extremely wealthy.
Liechtenstein is the richest of them all. In our current economy smaller countries save a lot of cash that is otherwise spent on infrastructure, development, border security, military and then the people try to focus on intellectual endeavors, R&D, finance, trade and science.
A country has stopped being one when the native population either has become a minority in their place, the people start hating themselves and have negative founding myths about their country.
The Irish are a specific unique people and I hope they survive in the coming decades. And they certainly have a better chance of doing that than Sweden, Germany, UK and Canada. Some of those places are one cuck-fuck-cum-sip away from joining the Borg-collective.

It takes one hour to drive through Netherlands and that country was at one time the most powerful country in the world.
It's not about size, but how dominant you fuck that bitch.

Aloha!
I am going to remember this one for whenever I am tired of a conversation and want to stop it in its tracks.
The trick will be to remember to substitute the name of whoever I am talking to for 'suits.'
I think this could also get me kicked out of my church if I get tired of it.
This sentence is almost as good as a bike lock for shutting down free speech.
And don't say you got it from Forney.

It's only a real country if you can't drive across the entirety of it. Example: Panama from north to south, or vice versa.
It is a common misconception that Panama runs from north to south. Panama actually runs from west to east, with the Caribbean on the northern border and the Pacific Ocean on the southern border. So, if you drive from north to south you will end up at the Pacific Ocean.
I was referring to the Darien Gap, but I should have remembered the layout of Panama.

I hear everything's bigger in Texas
It is frankly ridiculous to travel across texas. Smaller states may only take like 4 hours from one side to the other.
Yep, everything is bigger here.
Yeah and that's if you ignore the areas in the south. Drive straight
east or west through Houston and you're talking almost a full day. Crap scenery in most parts though. Not the desert I had pictured when I moved here (I lived in Vegas once upon a time).
