What are some style status symbols for men?

Seriously I think there’s a case for nice underwear.
The first fuck is the time where you need to make a good impression (assuming you want a second fuck, which is both polite and -in some cases at least- convenient). Obviously performance is more important, but the details matter too.

I don't think the CK label or CK boxers are particularly status symbols these days like they were in the 90's but I have had plates make positive comments about my designer underwear on day 2, day 3 lays. Not an important detail in the buildup but I agree with you Montrose - its a nice touch..
Props to the OP for stimulating debate.

A status symbol that's biologically ingrained in both men and women are people who have very erect posture, with head held high, and sticking out your chest. If you combine that with a well-fitted suit (with pocket square), color-coordinated dress shirt, decent shoes, and smooth manners you'll be amazed at how differently you get treated by people.
I really don't think most girls care about brand. If you like a shiny, fashion-forward suit, then instead of buying one from Hugo Boss, Gucci, or Burberry, just get one custom-made in the style that you like. It may cost 1-2 thousand dollars less than one of those designer brands (depending on the material you choose) and will likely look better because it will be fitted completely to your body.
Another way to display status is to have a girl meet you in an upscale cocktail lounge, cigar bar, or trendy restaurant in which the staff treats you extremely differentially or else you already have it on lock. Then, you just act like that that kind of place is your usual hangout, which is easier to do if it really is your usual hangout. I took a girl once on a first date to an upscale cocktail bar with a person playing the piano on a small stage. I ordered the cheese plate and I could tell she didn't know how to combine the cheeses with the different condiments that were served so I showed her how to do it. I could tell it really had an effect on her and led to an SNL.

Alot of you guys are taking this too far. The OP simply wanted items that could be seen as status symbols, Simply a fun topic. Doesn't mean he's using it to attract women or to intimidate men. SIMPLY something to help him see items that have made other men feel like they have status
With that said i do agree with the lifestyle choice being a status symbol
THE BIGGEST STATUS SYMBOL OF ALL IS A GENUINE SMILE.
WHY? because so many people go through life faking a smile. Hiding their true pain, struggling to get by and letting that struggle keep them down. A genuine smile can be contagious and can prove that you made it, you're happy, you're not only content with life but overjoyed with life.
THE SECOND BIGGEST STATUS SYMBOL IS A HUGE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT
I don't know about you all but every girl I ever met wanted my Instagram account. At the moment I don't have one but just imagine pulling out an Instagram account and its similar to @tomclaeren or the old youtube channel High on life? Imagine her seeing you traveling the world, going to extravagant parties, Riding in the best cars while wearing the best clothes. Do all of this for yourself, as a journal of your happiest moments (instead of most people who do it to brag). She's going to pretty much beg to be apart of that life or at the very least fuck the person who is capable of doing all of this......
So yeah

OK:
Watch
Suit
Blazer (if not wearing a suit)
Waistcoat/vest
Quality leather jacket
Dress shoes
In addition to red, I think purple is also a color that denotes power and status.
I liked your original statement, i was referring to the people who were stating that physical things and name brands don't show status.

Hilariously half this shit doesn't even fucking matter if you can't open your mouth to talk to a girl.
Beyond the obvious shit you'd wear on the regular - most this shit isn't a "status" unless you're around people who will validate you for it and comment on it. It only makes YOU "feel" like high status - which in most cases should be the only thing that matters in the first place.
I agree with basics - clothes, shoes, and accessories. Those should be the bread and butter of any guy.
Can't afford name brand shit ? Fuck it, get generic suits, get them tailored, they might put a designer suit to shame, I know some of mine have because they didn't get it tailored.
Can't afford red botoms? Buy multiple colors in a favorite style shoe/dress shoe.
Same goes for blank tees, jeans, canvas, pants etc.
You shouldn't be throwing money at shit you can't afford....all just for the status.
Then you just look like a foolish 30K Millionaire.

I thought the girl was the status symbol.

I don't know, surely no one can think it's wise to spend ridiculous amounts of money just to achieve status if you can't afford it of course. But I think there is a good point in trying to dress and appear more successful than you really are, if you have a career you care about or whatever.
Perception is reality. Dan Pena talks a lot about this and how he used to go and try Rolls Royce and smell the leather at car stores before he even could afford them and how he and his wife would dress up to go and view properties worth millions before he was able to live in a castle like today. He would also always wear a 3 piece suit before he got rich and wealthy and he talks a lot about making people perceive you as more successful and high status than you really are.
Sure it can be seen as try hard if it's the only thing you actually got going for you, then it's just a facade, but I also think there is some power in faking it til you make it, if you want to move forward in life.

I heard there's a VERY fine line between visualization and mental masturbation. i deleted my profile on Instagram and stopped looking at videos of cars and such because i spent more time looking at the life that i could have rather than working to get it
Plus kinda like the no fap theory, once i deleted porn, Instagram, and cars and such. Everything seemed to be "better" sex was better, the sound of my car was better, women in person seemed much more beautiful, and i had a better view of the world
I know this is common sense but i felt i had to share

When I think of belts like that I think of some of the scrubs I know who spend $400+ on Gucci belts so they can "flex." So fucking dumb, wearing stuff that broadcasts name brand "status" just screams "I am inadequate so I spend a lot of money on clothes that all the sheeple wear." Not to be confused with buying high quality garments that fit well and are comfortable that don't scream name brand.

This post from Hypno hints at what in my view is the most effective status symbol - being well dressed, and appropriately dressed for your character type.
What does this involve?
Know your colours. There are colours and tones that will suit you and make your face look as good as possible. Know what these are and wear them. The effect of properly selecting your colours on your appearance is quite marked. All of your clothes should conform to the colour palate that suits your complexion.
Know your dimensions and your best features - are you tall, short, long legged, narrow shouldered etc? Dress deliberately to flatter the good features and draw attention away from negative features. For example, I have a long neck, so I tend to wear higher collars, round colours on jumpers, that sort of thing - even just popping the collar on a rugby shirt immediately frames my face better and improves my overall appearance. My face is a good feature for me, so things that draw attention to it, like wearing my hair longer, or tie bars for example, are effective as they draw the eye up and focus attention on my face.
Know your style. I come from a military background, used to box a lot, come from a traditional family, etc etc. For a long time I went with a very classic look, or a very rough and ready look. The reality is that neither of these are best suited to my character, which by nature is more mischievous, playful, suave/aesthetic, sensual and slightly roguish - for some bizarre reason a lot of people think I am mysterious. Girls looked at me and saw a lover, and I was trying to be a fighter. Introducing elements into my dress that emphasised those aspects of my character made me appear much more congruent. Noone saw me as a brooding tough guy, they saw me as the guy who got loads of girls and would probably seduce their sister if they weren't vigilant - even though for most of my life nothing could have been further from the truth. Essentially, dressing 'in character' will help you appear well put together and won't cause any disconnect in people's minds. A congruent man has a certain status.
Jewellery is something you should be careful with too, and pick appropriately for your character and overall style. Again, colouring is important, so knowing if you suit silver or gold is useful. For me, I wear a very slim watch, in silver/metal, with a very simple leather strap. It's a beautiful piece of engineering - a wafer thin self winding watch. But the appearance is refined and elegant - a lover not a fighter, which is how I come across, even if I try to be tough or excessively military. If I were to wear a chunky watch, or bracelets and chains, it would be jarring with my overall image.
Having a style, in the right colours, and in the kind of clothes that flatter your features/create the right overall illusion is an excellent status symbol. You can look high status regardless of whether you wear rugged attire, classic attire, dramatic attire, or opt for an elegant and refined look. One is not better than the other, so long as it suits you. We know this instinctively when, for example, we see massively muscular guys trying to wear over tailored (for them) suits, skinny ties, overly intricate patterns, etc etc.
