What's the point of having fuck-you money if you never say fuck you! [Image: banana.gif]

Quote:Quote:

Marc Faber, the markets prognosticator known as "Dr. Doom," has resigned his board seats at Sprott Inc., Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. and NovaGold Resources Inc. on Tuesday after his latest newsletter ignited international outrage, with the publication of a litany of inflammatory and racist comments.

"Thank God white people populated America and not the blacks," wrote Mr. Faber, who is managing director with investment advisory and fund management firm Marc Faber Ltd., in his latest monthly newsletter.

"Otherwise the U.S. would look like Zimbabwe, which it might look like one day anyway, but at least America enjoyed 200 years in the economic and political sun under a white majority."

In the publication, Mr. Faber was also highly critical of the removal of Confederate statues in the United States – an issue that generated much controversy after white supremacists marched in Charlottesville, Va., in the summer to protest the city's plans to take them down.

"The very same people" he wrote of U.S. liberals "are now disturbed by statues of honourable people whose only crime was to defend what all societies had done for more than 5,000 years: keep a part of the population enslaved."

In the newsletter, the 71-year-old Mr. Faber claimed he is "not a racist" but wrote that the reality, "no matter how politically incorrect," needs to be spelled out.

"If stating some historical facts makes me a racist, then I suppose that I am a racist," Mr. Faber later told Bloomberg news service in an e-mail.

Mr. Faber did not respond to The Globe and Mail's request for comment.

Hours after his newsletter comments were made public, Toronto-based asset manager Sprott asked Mr. Faber to step down from its board of directors, a position he had held since 2010.

"Recent comments by Dr. Faber are deeply disappointing and are completely contradictory with the views of Sprott and its employees," said Peter Grosskopf, CEO of Sprott, the precious metals asset manager, in a release.

Damn, son! Marc Faber was part of the Swiss national ski team as a youth before moving to Asia and working there for most of his career. He's now 71 years old and lives in a mansion deep in the Thai jungle with his Thai wife, when not traveling on business. Being 71 and independently wealthy I guess he decided it's time to talk like a man, not a slave.

This is good, he has a lot of boomer cucks who read his publication and are being slow to wake up. Good on him for doing the right thing.

How about you get off the fence & start making arguments, instead of pointing them out?

My opinion is beside the point - what is it that you disagree with regarding what Faber has said?

You've clearly put yourself on the record in opposition to him with your scathing ad hominem (and racist in nature too?)

^ Not an argument, sure. And the swedes are not the swiss. And neither of you have any fucking arguments. Here & herein lies the confusion.

Regarding Faber. Can't see an existential problem there.

(and your gonna do well round here with the "You're racist too!" line.)

I've no idea what your post means.

Faber deserves respect for speaking his mind, especially due to the special place race holds as an utterly off-limits topic for any public discussion.

He didn't back down and apologise like many, many others.

If anyone is interested they can drop Faber a line through his website https://www.gloomboomdoom.com/contact/contact-form/

This quote is a cheap argument, because it's speculation... He could easily make his statement without it. In fact, he could make a far better statement without it.

He also shouldn't be using Zimbabwe as an example. Southern Rhodesia only gained official independence in 1980, over 200 years after the US.

I get the point that he's trying to make, and I doubt he's a racist [Even though he's being pretty inflammatory] but if he's gonna go H.A.M, he should at least build a rock solid argument to prove his point [Which wouldn't be hard].

It a dangerous road to go down, when you decide 'fuck it'. I'll be shot down as a racist regardless, so I'll just say whatever. I like to think our moral compass is far superior to the left and if so, hurling inflammatory insults might be good for the LOL's but it isn't helping anyone.

I'm sure nobody on here would say... "Thank God white people populated America and not the blacks" to the face of all the brothers who enjoy this forum. I think we're all far better off putting forward the facts with diplomacy, rather than using divisive rhetoric.

Hearing the phrase "divisive rhetoric" makes me [Image: puke.gif]. I probably wouldn't say it out loud per say in the manner that this guy did, but then again he is only stating what deep down most rational-minded folks would given the argument. And your average person hardly has any kind of substantial dialogue with people different from themselves anymore. I think this guy was probably being provocative with his word choice on purpose.

It's still not much different from stating, "Man I'm glad the early Romans conquered Europe instead of the Gauls, or the Mongols."

How about, "Wow, the world sure would be different if the Chinese expanded their empire into Europe and North America" or if "Japan or Germany had won WW2." Or if the UK continued their conquest of the Americas, Africa, and Southeast Asia, without the abolition of slavery or revolt by the 13 colonies.

Is it really a racist thing to say when you're speaking in facts or talking in hypotheticals like the above? I don't think so, not in the sense people mean when they label someone that term. At our core, I think everyone is probably a bit racist towards others and in their own worldviews. People are too damn sensitive today to discuss these topics without it devolving into name-calling. I personally don't want America to look like Zimbabwe (a third world shithole and the 2nd poorest country on the planet), and I don't see that as a racist thing to say.

Having my own views never stopped me from befriending people of different races and creeds. It's only natural to have some sense of pride in your own skin and others like yourself, especially if your society has been successful and flourished. In my opinion it's those people (often liberals) who go around shouting "muh diversity" just to virtue signal like these large corporations who pour billions of dollars into pointing out how inclusive they are, that are the real racists.

"Thank God white people populated America and not the blacks" is significantly different. The 'Thank God' being the obvious reason. The dudes being purposefully inflammatory just to piss people off.

I don't have a problem with it. He can say whatever he wants. Thousands spout similar stuff in comments sections of articles daily... All they're really doing is triggering people, which is good for the LOL's, but not for much else.

If that's what he's doing, cool, whatever, but he's not some anti-PC crusader. He's just an old dude saying shit... With his profile, I'd be applauding if he actually put forth a coherant argument. Would be far more helpful to put a nail in the PC brigade [Not that he has to].

Why am I not surprised that this red-pilled, unafraid, and nationalist man chose to live in Asia... I can hear his Thai wife speaking through him, too, I bet they get along real nice...

In any case, he's probably not ready yet to make it to my thread (on account of his lack of clear goal and subtlety), but is getting close: thread-62488.html

This is actually the other reason I don't think this guy is worthy of praise. He goes on a rant about PC bs in society. He points out (Rightly) that whites built the strongest superpower the worlds ever scene. Uses the system American forefathers created for him to get insanely rich.

But instead of helping us fix it, he fucks off to Thailand and goes on an inonsequential rant. It's within his rights to do so. He has no obligation to actually do something relevant to fix the problem, but he doesnt deserve praise.

It's all staged. With world-wide news coverage he must have gained a shitload of new subscribers for his 300$ newsletter. Maybe 10'000 new subscribers, that would be 3 million cash. That goes a long way in Thailand. Faber surely never got rich following his own investment advice.

The same tactic all these internet marketers use - create outrage porn, have media networks pick it up, have social media/forums (such as ours) discuss. Suddenly the guy is on the radar of a lot more people than he was yesterday. I've never heard of the guy...until this thread.

The race angle - he might not even mean it, he may just see which way the winds are turning in terms of PC culture and decided to cash in on it.

Well played indeed. I'm sure his newsletter saw a healthy spike in new subscriptions.

I've met several Zimbabwe nationals through a religious program. They have more problems than you can count but at least they are Christians and trying to follow western philosophy, rather than mass immigrate and destroy it. Faber should have attacked the goatfuckers and rapefugee nations of he wanted to burn down pc culture.

It's not getting fixed. That's why he's pissed off. In 20 years, the best case for America is a multi-ethnic state with massive disparities between the wealthy and poor, sort of Brazil without the climate or the hot girls. The worst case is a failed state and civil war, ala Kosovo. You can't avoid this any more than you can avoid hitting the ground after you jump off a skyscraper.

I don't blame the guy for seeing the writing on the wall and heading off to Thailand. What's the point in staying here?
